Seattle: Each one of us was created to do more than simply serve God. The Father intended us to know Him-to have an intimate relationship with Him. However, God isn’t like a casual acquaintance on Facebook that we can just check in with every now and then. In order to have closeness with God, we must read His word, devote time to study, and talk to Him in prayer. Our heart desperately needs this intimate connection, but often life keeps us too busy and distracted with responsibilities to develop a devoted time of worship.
“Weaver’s insight is keen and far-reaching, patient and practical.”
~ Publisher’s Weekly starred review
“Balance. That’s what it is all about, and Joanna Weaver has found it, described it, and called us to this wonderful, practical work. If you have ever struggled with how you can find one quiet moment while longing for a deep holy communion or if you have been discouraged because neither seems possible, you will be challenged and blessed by Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World!”
~ Jan Silvious, author of Foolproofing Your Life
“Once again [Having a Mary Spirit], Joanna Weaver guides us gently, lovingly, yet firmly along the life-changing path of righteousness. Her honesty about her own struggles assures us we’re not alone. And her commitment to biblical truth reminds us God will be with us every step of the way. I promise you’ll emerge from this reading experience a changed woman!”
~ Liz Curtis Higgs, best-selling author of Bad Girls of the Bible
“The word that wouldn’t leave me when reading Lazarus Awakening is ‘deep.’ Joanna Weaver’s words are rooted deep in Scripture, they dove deep into my heart, and they deeply impacted my emotions as I’ve come to a better understanding that Jesus loves me because of who I am, not what I’ve done. I cried many tears through these pages, as my own questions were tackled, my own fears revealed. In the end, I’ve come away with a deeper understanding of what it means to be loved by God. I am blessed. I am loved, and Jesus means more to me than ever before. Highly recommended.”

At The Feet Of Jesus: A Book Review
5The book is a dated devotional, that will have you reflecting and taking the time to really understand what Jesus wants for our lives. To take time from our chaotic lives and really sit at His feet and listen to what He wants us to hear.

Great Devotional!
5I always love well-written devotional books–especially when they are written by strong Christian women. And that is the best way to describe this book. Joanna Weaver has taken best-known portions of some of her books. There are several things I love about this devotionals. First of all, it is divided by dates, and there is a reading for each day of the week. Secondly, there is a Bible reading assignment each day, and you are encouraged to respond to each day’sreading. What a novel idea–actually having to use the Bible to do your devotions!

Where We Really Want to Be: At the Feet of Jesus
4.5I was drawn to the devotional book At the Feet of Jesus because it called out to us Mary’s in a Martha world. As moms, wives, and Christians we get so caught up in the busyness of life. Even when we want to make time for God, we get distracted. God has called us for more than just serving Him as Martha did, but He wants to know us, too, as Mary did. That’s what this devotional is all about.

Drew Me Closer to Jesus
5This devotional book really helped me to become closer with Jesus. I had recently prayed that Jesus would meet with me and that I would understand how he wanted to meet with me. I started a journal titled “My friendship with Yeshua (Jesus)” when I started reading this devotional book. As I read through the devotional readings, I started picturing Jesus right across from me, pointing to places in the Bible and in this book that he thought were important for me to know, so I think that must be the way that Jesus has decided to meet with me while I read this book.

Spend a year in Bethany
5If you have read all three of Joanna Weaver’s books, you will find some new material in this devotional, however a lot of the book is a review familiar concepts. The book still feels fresh and is not merely a rehashing, however. Through daily readings I was reminded of key points that I had frankly forgotten over the years such as “Flesh Woman.”

This is a fantastic Christmas gift idea for any women in your life that want to improve their daily walk with Jesus, as they learn to put aside the distractions and sit at His feet. The author uses themes such as intimacy with God, humility, being set free from anxiousness and sin, having a Christlike heart, recognizing the voice of the Holy Spirit, forgiveness, overcoming fear, encouraging others, faith, compassion, spiritual growth, love, obedience, and the promises of God. Both approaches to scripture are important – focusing on small sections of scripture to focus on meaning and personal application, as well as getting a broader view of scripture that can only come with reading the Bible in its entirety. This devotional contains it all in one volume.

At the Feet of Jesus
4This is a study that encourages and challenges one in everyday living. Before the study begins, the author poses a thought about choosing to give God time and not just the time that’s left over from our day. I hope you choose to give God your time and I highly recommend ”At the Feet of Jesus” to help you along that journey.

At the Feet of Jesus
4It’s hard for me to sit down and soak in God’s Word at times. I want to rush through and not really listen to what He’s saying. Being so busy is to blame for that. Reading Joanne Weaver’s latest devotional At The Feet of Jesus, I’ve managed to slow down and actually hear what both God and the author are saying as I read the Scripture and the devotional provided for each day. I think the best part of the daily devotions is the REFLECT questions.

She shares excerpts from her previous books and also has a very achievable Bible Reading Plan. The devotions have a verse of the day, beautiful Biblical insight and also scriptures to read and a reflection which could be posed as a question or an opportunity to journal. The devotions allow you to take time to sit still and have time with Jesus. This is a devotional to be used year after year and one that you will one to give as gifts to all the special people in your life. This devotional will enrich your relationship with the Lord as you take time with Him.

At the Feet of Jesus
5The title of this book captured my attention, I wanted to see what way between the covers of this book. And even though there are devotions for each date on the calendar, you can pick this book up and any time, flip through it and find something that will help and encourage you.

Life begins at the feet of Jesus
4I loved how Weaver kept one day flowing into the next leaving you looking forward to reading the next day. The read and reflect portions at the close of each day will help you discover for yourself the truths of God’s Word and the value of spending time with Him daily. Weaver weaves her wisdom with her ability to tell a good story or relate a story from Scripture.

At the Feet of Jesus (Daily Devotionals)
5I really love this devotion book because it had a scripture of the day, a daily word, and a reflect on…It might say Use this verse as a template to pray over your day, and I would do just that, and be in the mind of Christ the entire day, not worrying, feeling anxious just knowing that God had whatever I was going through under control!
I also love the devotional name (At the feet of Jesus) that’s where I want to be every day in my prayer time with him! This is a blessed devotional that anyone that knows the Lord, or wants to get to know him shall read daily. I will be passing this book on to a friend!

At The Feet Of Jesus by Joanna Weaver ~ Litfuse Blog Tour
5I am a long time user of devotionals, and actually have several in my collection, but what really stands out with “At the Feet of Jesus” are the Going Deeper sections which are featured once a month. They not only allowed me to pause and reflect but more than that many of them provided useful ideas on how to grow closer spiritually to God. One of my favorite Going Deeper sections was for the month of September, which revolved around Bible Study helps, in which the author shares several approaches to Bible study. Another great tool that is included in this devotional is a unique one year Bible reading guide.

4The pages are very pleasing to the eye. Each day’s study is contained on one page for easy reading and time management.
This is a wonderful devotional to nurture a Mary heart.

At the Feet of Jesus
5What do I think of this devotional? I think It is one that I will enjoy for many years to come. I like to rotate devotionals, using a different one each year. I will be using At the Feet of Jesus in 2013 as a part of my daily devotions. I also like that there is a daily Bible reading guide in the back of the book.

\"At the Feet of Jesus\" by Joanna Weaver
5Although it’s not right to judge a book by its cover, I have to mention the fact that this book is just beautiful! It’s a hardcover with a painting of a courtyard in warm colors that just invites you to pick it up and read. I knew this book was going to be special as soon as I saw it! (It would make a lovely gift book for Christmas, too.)

5I have really enjoyed the time I have spent reading this devotional, and plan to use it and the Bible reading plan she includes for the year 2013. It is always nice for me to have a new devotional for the new year to go with my daily Bible reading goals.Reading through the Bible every year isn’t difficult, you just need a plan. You will find one here! I recommend this devotional to all Christian women who want to draw closer to Christ, to learn at His feet as Mary did. It will change all of our lives.

At The Feet Of Jesus
5Oh my.
This was the first book I picked up once I was clear headed enough after surgery to read and actually comprehend what I was reading. I turned to the page for my devotions for the day, and next thing I know,I was in tears. Literal tears.

I like that this book gives you the option of doing Bible reading along with the devotion rather than needing two separate books. There are some very powerful messages in this book that I take away with me each day.
