Praying the Wisdom of Proverbs into Your Life Every Day
Experience God’s wisdom as never before and find encouragement, peace, answers, and a better life through this devotional prayer book.
Many people read a chapter a day from the book of Proverbs as a regular devotional practice. They consider it their favorite book in the Bible because its daily practical guidance offers tools to make the right choices and have the inner strength to stand against pressure, size up a situation and know how to respond, make fewer careless mistakes, and avoid unnecessary trouble.
In these pages, readers will find a chapter from Proverbs followed by a heartfelt prayer that includes all of the insights from that chapter. In a mere thirty-one days they can pray all of the wisdom of Proverbs for their lives.
“John Mason’s “Proverbs Prayers” is an incredible prayer pump primer. This simple book contains 31 chapters, one for each chapter of Proverbs. Each chapter contains the text of that chapter of Proverbs in the New American Standard Bible version and a corresponding prayer. I have read these prayers and spoken them aloud, and they have guided my own prayers to new places, adding a freshness and renewal to my prayer life. This book ends with a list of “Proverbs Principles”, which are key characteristics and how they relate to Christian character. This section includes Scripture verses and a brief commentary about the key words. This book can be used beautifully every month as a devotional and prayer guide.” ~ Stacey, Amazon.com reviewer

Proberbs Prayers
5I have often heard of study plans where you read a chapter in Proverbs each day for the entire month, easy to do because there are 31 chapters and can correspond to the day of the month. It is a great study that you can repeat each month.

Favorite devotional!
5I loved the prayer response portion because they got me thinking on each specific verse and how to apply it to myself, without getting too deep or heavy with meaning. This is one of the best devotionals I have ever read!

This is such a great concept. Four pages per day — two of the scripture passage, and then a two page prayer, praying back many of the key points from that chapter.
I really loved it. I have one small book, and it is so easy to do on a daily basis

I really like this format, how simple it is, and how manageable it is for my life right now. But even if I wasn’t crazy busy I would appreciate it. No frills or stretching to make a connection. Just the timeless truths followed by honest prayers.

Applying the Wisdom of Proverbs
4It is hard to write about a devotional because they mean different things to each of us. But, I can recommend this one because I have found it useful, and will continue to do so. Reading the chapter of Proverbs is a great way to start the day, but when the prayer is added, the implications of the verses become more profound. Devotions bring us closer to God and any good tool we can have in our possession will only enhance that quiet time. You should check it out!

Proverbs Prayers by John Mason is a beautiful book that will allow you to pray through each of the Proverbs. Not only that, each chapter has a little devotion that is perfect for a quick quiet time in the morning or whenever you need a pick-me-up. One part of the book that I was really impressed with concerns Proverbs 31. We always think this passage from the Bible is meant for women, however Proverbs Prayers actually includes a prayer for both men and women. I thought that was a great addition. Also included in the book is a list of Proverb Principles that give you advice and tidbits regarding topics like humility, trust and vision.A delightful book that would be perfect for gift-giving for any occasion!I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!

Proverbs Prayers: Praying the Wisdom of Proverbs into Your Life Every Day is a great way to start or end each day in just 5-10 focused minutes. The thing I love about this devotional is that it focuses solely on the Biblical Book of Proverbs, which I have always found to be positive and life-affirming. Proverbs contains 31 chapters, making this a perfect one-month devotional. Author John Mason has included one chapter per day, which is followed by a related prayer. He challenges readers to read through each chapter and read the following prayer, so that readers can start to see the wisdom God has provided which can be applied to daily life.

I found that the best feature of the book is the keen specificity of the prayers. Each day is truly a focused prayer that requires you to ask specifically and meaningfully for help in a certain area of life. WOW , did it speak to me. It really taught me how to ask for what I need.

I have a question since there are many devotionals already on the market do we really need another one? Well when the devotional is “Proverbs Prayers” then I have to say the answer is yes. Each daily devotional is one chapter from the book of Proverbs followed by a prayer that allows the point of what we just read to really sink in. It is not easy to make time for Bible reading and Proverbs is an essential part as God put it in the Bible to provide us wisdom and guidance on how to make proper choices. Bite sized daily bits of wisdom that we can use in our prayer time even at the office when we go on breaks or at lunch. This book will be used month after month it is that good a resource. It is perfect to give as gifts to family and friends that they, also, will use month after month and thank you for it. I recommend this book highly!http://www.amazon.com/review/R1NDI19ALSBM5A

I’m really grateful for my normal rotation of prayer books that allows me to snatch minutes for prayer when I can. Proverbs Prayers by John Mason, is a new addition to my pile of prayer books. Each day I can sit down and read a book of proverbs. Then there is a prayer where you are lead through the main points of the chapter, asking for grace to take to heart the wisdom therein as well as asking God to put on your heart some aspect of it that you should be improving upon or doing.

Proverbs Prayers is a small, simple, but extremely powerful book. Each chapter has a selection from proverbs, followed by some of the author John Mason’s thoughts. I found this to be a great way to start the day. The book is set up so that you read one page of proverbs a day, for 31 days. They say that it takes 31 days to develop a habit. Reading from the bible is a great habit to instill into yourself. Proverbs is a great place to start for many reasons. It is short and simple to read. The subjects have bearing on your daily life. You will find yourself thinking throughout the day about what you read. Something will happen and a line from proverbs will pop into your head. It is a great connection to make. Like the subtitle says, you will pray the wisdom of proverbs into your life every day.

I have always gone to Psalms and Proverbs for comfort and guidance in my daily life. When I saw the title of this book I was anxious to read and pray the prayers that are offered at the end of each daily devotion. I do not wish to rush through the book, instead I will add it to my daily prayers and meditations for the 31 days suggested for this devotional. So far I believe I have read enough of this book to know it will be a great asset to me and my daily walk with God. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/388675714http://www.amazon.com/review/R3DSR08SBHFDI3/ref=cm_cr_rdp_permhttp://my.barnesandnoble.com/reviews-Its_Time_Mamaw/

Proverbs Prayers by John Mason is a great reminder that the word of God is living and breathing. When we read it, we should take the time to contemplate on it and make its desires our desires. The best way to do this is to change the words into prayer back to God, and that is what Mason has done in Proverbs Prayers. Each chapter begins first with an actual chapter of Proverbs and then ends with those words changed into prayer.I especially love the section entitled “Proverbs: Principles For” which lists a synopsis of what the book of Proverbs has to say on various hot button topics in life such as anger and pride.

What I like about this 31-Day Devotional “Journey” ☺each Proverb chapter is followed by a prayer of application. I had not heard of John Mason before, but I found that the prayer section he wrote for each chapter challenged me to pray through the verses myself.☺on the “superficial” side, I like the appearance of the book. The pages have torn/rough edges which add to the aesthetic quality. What can I say, I still enjoy turning “real” pages
…The copy I received is a softback with a quality cover that has a jacket “edge” fold out that can be used to mark the book page. http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews?ie=UTF8&action=submit

“Many people are aware that the book of Proverbs contains 31 chapters – one for every day of the month, making it a popular devotional study. But John Mason encourages us to take on the challenge of not only reading a chapter every day, but also praying the chapter after reading it. For me, this book became the extra push to put me inside these verses. Not to be merely looking on through the open window, but to truly be inside and partaking in the searching, growing, and rejoicing.”
