Welcome to the blog tour for a very important book, The House of Hope, which tells the amazing story of everyday people who chose to give up a life of ease, comfort and wealth to rescue abandoned and sick infants in China. They started 10 years ago, taking one orphan into their tiny home, and as of today have helped over 1,000 children.
Co-written with Elisabeth Gifford, Robin and Joyce Hill share their story of how people from all over the world have banded together to show God's love to the abandoned orphans of China.
The Hills' work have been aided by Francis Chan, Amy Elderidge, Steven Curtis Chapman and so many more.

-- Francis Chan, author of Crazy Love
"Read this amazing story of God's grace, and accept the challenge to make a difference."
-- Steven Curtis Chapman
"The House of Hope can only encourage all who love to read about God's grace, His faithfulness, and His love for all people."

"You will discover how one couple fully sold out to God has made it possible for so many to live. A modern day miracle of God using His people to change the world!"

"Liz Gifford's compelling account of how a family gave up their comfortable, expatriate life in China to take sick and abandoned orphans into their home is both moving and challenging. In telling how hundreds of China's most neglected children have been rescued from oblivion, the author remains lucid and unsentimental, letting the stories speak clearly for themselves. The House of Hope is what every reader longs for: a great story well told."
-- Rhidian Brook, broadcaster and author

Elisabeth Gifford is a journalist who has written for the London Times and the Independent Newspapers. She lives in Kingston, England, and teaches children with dyslexia. Robin and Joyce Hill lived in a gated community in Beijing. Their family’s life was marked by luxury and the security of Robin's job as an engineer. Then one day, as members of their church, they had a chance to tour a state-run orphanage. Haunted by the needs of the children they saw there, for the next four years they tried to help the institute in meaningful ways. |

In 1998 the Hills planned to leave China, but instead felt a sudden call from God on their lives. They left their gated community--reserved for only non-Chinese residents--moved their family into a small apartment miles outside of Beijing and immediately began to take in foster children. They took in any child, but especially those that needed extra care—terminally ill children that couldn't receive care elsewhere, and those that needed complicated and expensive surgeries that the Hills soon began to coordinate and sometimes pay for out of their own savings. What began as Hope Foster Home is now New Hope Foundation. As they continue their work, the Hills enjoy support from major corporations and high-profile philanthropists as well as the trust of the Chinese authorities. The Hills' story is an inspiring example of God's care and provision for those whom society does not value. Learn more about Hope Foster Homes here. |

Tea Time with Annie Kate [House of Hope is] full of high drama, rare medical conditions, hurried flights to foreign hospitals, miracles, and heartache. It shows how the Hills, doctors, and support persons give their time, skills, talents and love to save baby after baby.
Sarah at Growing For Christ This book will tug at your heart and there will be times your eyes will flow with tears and your heart will literally ache for these children – the least of these. I felt myself wanting to reach through the pages of the book and give a hug to the Hill’s and their staff but most of all take all these children home with me!
Becky at In The Pages Elisabeth Gifford's The House of Hope is quite a story - one that I won't soon forget.

Crystal at Created for Home The House of Hope is the story of a couple who chose to follow God, no matter what it cost them personally.
Debra at Footprints in the Butter Wow. Everyone should read this book.
Jill at Book, Books Everywhere It was so insightful to see how Joyce and Robin came into the life that they now lead and the good that they are doing for so many children. It is hard to see a child in need of medical help and to step up with a willingness to use their own money if necessary to get these babies the help they need. It is equally hard to realize that not all of the babies in need of operations are going to be able to be saved, some may have conditions that cannot be cured and that will end in their early departure from this world. But to have love and attention for the time they are able to be here is priceless.

Mollie at The Gandy's Home Base I was completely taken back by this book! It was such an eye opener to what God can do if you are only willing to follow him. From one little cot in their dinning room to multiple houses and relationships throughout China, it is clear that God is using the Hills for amazing thing.
Jill at Book Review Travels The House of Hope is a story that can encourage a lot of people, such as people who have a heart for and are taking care of orphaned and medically fragile children, people who have a desire to adopt children from other countries, and people who desire to work with and care for these children in the future. I love knowing that there are places in the world filled with people that are taking good care of children who have been rejected for reasons beyond their control, and this "House of Hope" sounds as if it happens to be one of those places.
Carrie at Our Blessed Chaos I was deeply touched by this incredible story, and for that reason alone I highly recommend this book. This story has inspired and challenged me to think of ways I can step out of my comfort zone and be more compassionate to those in need of simple acts of kindness and love.

Charity at Hosanna's Journey I enjoyed reading about each and every one of the miracles in the book. After knowing friends who have adopted children from China, it was a chance to get to know a little about the life of the children before getting adopted.
Urailak at Fruitbearers I was encouraged to see how God used the Hills and many others to love and care for the orphans of China. Thanks to the Hills' obedience and relentless faith, many lives have been saved!
Mel at MamaBuzz [House of Hope] is full of more personal stories, some chapters telling the stories of individual orphans Robin and Joyce cared for. It also shares their journey from caring for orphans in a small apartment to now caring for orphans in a much larger capacity, able to help even more children on a daily basis. It’s a very inspirational read and one I’d recommend to all my readers.

Isabelle at Canadian Ladybug Reviews! This is definitively a story that I would recommend to everyone. The House of Hope will describe the step of faith on one family in China and will stir your heart to what they are doing there for abandoned orphans in need of special surgery. It is a story of unconditional love for rejected children, a story of hope and a story of miracles. As you read the book, you will be brought to tears and smiles at the same time. It tore my heart to read about the children who died but it was amazing to see how God opened doors for critical children as well.
Jane at Winning Readings You cannot fail to be inspired by story after story of a child's life touched forever through the ministry of the Hills. The stories all start to blend in my mind after awhile, yet it is obvious that to their foster parents, each child is a unique, precious individual, infinitely loved by the God of the universe Himself.
Julie at My Kansas City Mommy This book takes you along on a journey with Robin and Joyce as their story unfolds. Many children are introduced in each new chapter - the Hills truly have had a remarkable opportunity to show God's love to these orphans. The book also includes a nice section of color photos, which help bring the stories to life.

Michele at Mommy Forward The book is filled with scripture, stories, and color photos around the Hill's work at Hope Foster Home and a partnership with Steven Curtis Chapman's ministry, Show Hope and Maria's Big House of Hope (named after the Chapman's deceased daughter.) It's inspiring, uplifting, and empowering.

This is a book to be enjoyed by everyone. It will make you fall in love with the children at Hope Foster Home and you will hop online to join their foundation and to become active with their mission. I'm sure of it!
Megan at Inspired by Fiction What an amazing book! It was wonderful to hear about how God has led Robin and Joyce Hill from the beginning: how he has provided for them and walked with them through it all. It is like a present day George Mueller story.
Jacque ay Good Family Reads Speechless, I have no words to adequately describe the feeling I had while reading this book and the thoughts and feelings that I had once I shut the book. This book can change the lives of countless people, not only because of the monetary impact the sale of the book will have on the Foundation, but for every person reading it.
Christine at The IE Mommy The House of Hope had me turning the pages quickly. I just had to know what happened with this incredibly heart-warming story. There were even a few times where tears welled up in my eyes, but you must read to see how it impacts you. This truly amazing story of how God will supply you with all our needs if you just have faith and follow him.

Lori at Frog's Lilypad The story of this couple and the work they are doing in China is wonderful. All over the world, children are being abandoned for one reason or another. Fortunately, for the precious children in China the Hills are able to make a difference in many of their lives. Reading about some of the tiny children makes you want to pack everything up and move to China to help save their lives.
Eva at The Watered Garden Letters It’s an essential part of the Christian walk to interest ourselves in staying informed in what’s happening in the lives of those Christian soldiers making drastic differences for the good around the world. This is why The House of Hope initially intrigued me as it did: who wouldn’t want to read of “God’s love for the abandoned orphans in China” and the remarkable people who were God’s instruments of a practical, serving love towards these children?
Dena at Mother Inferior [The House of Hope] is full of "God-incidences," miracles, and immense joy--even in the face of severe suffering. I highly recommend it (just be sure and have a box of tissues handy as you read!).
Alena at Little Bit Of Wonderful This story is a very moving one, and I couldn't put it down. Robyn and Joyce Hill lead extraordinary lives, and because of their faith and devotion, thousands of Chinese babies are alive today who would otherwise have perished. What a legacy! I highly recommend this book to anyone with a heart for children, and for service to God.
