What little girl wouldn't love her very own guardian angel? Parents and children alike will be won over by this humorous tale of Gabby, a guardian angel in training who has much to learn about taking care of God's little ones. Her new assignment is to protect a young girl named Sophie, but Gabby soon realizes that watching after Sophie is a bigger challenge than she had expected! After a close call while riding her pony, Sophie learns what the Bible says about guardian angels: "He will put his angels in charge of you. They will watch over you wherever you go" (Psalm 91:11 ICB).

Tarena at Laughing Family This book was surprisingly different. Yes, it is an illustrated kids book with angel pictures, but I thought it was wonderfully illustrated to give a realistic look at angels and the lives of little girls. This book is a simple story of a little girl and her guardian angel. I love that this book shows girls that God is watching over them and has a special plan for their lives (no matter how clumsy they may be!)...it also includes the important truth that God has guardian angels to watch over them. It is easy to forget that God tells us about guardian angels in the Bible, so I loved that this was a fun way to teach that to Abbi...she also loved how big and beautiful this book was! Any book that is for girls and has SPARKLES on the cover scores big points!

Sharon's Garden of Book Reviews Filled with gorgeous pictures and a sweet message of God's love, I was thoroughly impressed with this charming children's book.  I've been a long time fan of Sheila Walsh's and am so tickled to see her continuing to write sweet children's books. This book would make a great gift for any child - and for that matter, any adult who enjoys children's books!

Margaret at Creative Madness Mama I'm very much in love with this series. Such little spunk and personality just flow from Gabby. Gabby and Sophie are kindred hearts. I cannot wait to see what comes next for Gabby.

Heidi at Starts At Eight I loved, loved, loved this book! From the beautiful illustrations to the clutsy, clumsy angel Gabby, to the message to our little ones that they are always being watched over! Gabby is this ray of sunshine (almost literally with her bright yellow hair, dress and shoes)! She struggles like any young child might, which makes her endearing to little ones and adults who have cared for a spunky, awkward child like her themselves! And who doesn’t want to feel as though they are getting extra special care and attention from their own guardian angel? I especially like how Sheila draws similarities between Gabby and the little girl Sophie, whom she is assigned to look after. It made it feel as though each angel was chosen to be best suited for the child they are assigned to care for. I think this book will be a favorite of many little girls and parents alike!

Ruth at This That and the Other Thing This is a cute book that my seven year old enjoyed.  It would make a good introduction to a lesson on your Guardian Angel. I liked the way the book ended with Sophie saying her prayers and Mom teaching her about her Guardian Angel.  In short, a cute kids' book.

Lena at A Christian Writer's World

Diane at That's What I'm Here For Even my eleven year-old daughter thought this was a sweet, sweet book. This is the first in a new series from Sheila Walsh and girls WILL love it. The pictures are adorable in every way and the message, that we are watched over by the very angels of God, is a comfort to children of all ages. This is a perfect gift book that any girl 4-8 years old would love to receive and read again and again. This story offers a reassurance to children that may be frightened not to worry, someone IS looking out for them.

Crystal at My Reading Room A delightful children's book that teaches children that God is with them all of the time.  I loved the illustrations and thought the writing was just right for younger children.  I enjoyed both Gabby the little angel and Sophie the little girl.  Gabby and Sophie are the perfect match for each other, both are prone for trouble, but Gabby has a heart of gold and will try her hardest to protect Sophie. It's very cute and will read well as a great bedtime story.  This is something I was always on the lookout for.

Danielle at The Happy Wife This is a sweet, short story for a young child.  Being that the angel and the child she watches over are both female, I think little girls will especially enjoy it.  I especially like how well matched Gabby is with Sophie.  They both seem to be risk takers that are learning how to handle their little bodies, resulting in a bit of clumsiness for each of them.  The theology is light, yet powerful for a child.  The scriptures are only quoted once in the book, and it is taken from the The International Children's Bible.  While this is not the version we personally use, it is worded in a way that children will understand.  The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and full of color.  I recommend this for any Christian child, particularly girls, aged 4-9 years old.

Kathy at I Am A Reader, Not A Writer The pictures in this book are adorable and the story was humorous and flowed well making it a great read aloud for a child ages 4+.

Nicole at Bless Their Hearts Mom Kiddo ADORED this book from the first reading. She was turning the pages before I could even finish reading the one we were on, as she couldn't wait to see what happened to Gabby! The illustrations are stunning and truly illustrated the story perfectly! They are charming and perfect for the young reader! It will definitely be on our Christmas gift list this year! The story is one that most young children will be able to relate to, and Kiddo was entranced with the idea of a child guardian angel watching over her! Kiddo liked the idea of angel school, and came to her own conclusion that if the angels do really well, that God will reward them and let them come back to earth. While we've never discussed the idea of reincarnation with her, she is adamant about it and as you know, it's hard to change a 4 year old's mind! This is definitely a book we can send to school for show and tell, story sharing, and one that Kiddo is happy to read over and over!

Megan at Homeschoolin’ Mama Fantastic! If you have a little girl this book is a MUST HAVE!  Sheila Walsh truly knows how to help small children relate to God and the art work is beautiful.  When my daughter and I read this book together and we came upon the page where Gabby and Sophie are sitting on the horse together my daughter says, "Oh my goodness!  The Little Angel is holding on to her and keeping her safe!"  She hasn't stopped talking about this book since!  It was so comforting to her that God has Angels that are watching over us and holding on to us.  This book is a tender addition to my daughter's library!

Stephanie at Coupon Clippin' Mommy The first thing I noticed about Gabby, God's Little Angel is the illustrations.  The angel remind me a lot of a fairy princess so girls are drawn to her. I have read Sheila Walsh books before but nothing written for children.  I love that she is writing books designed for girls, the lesson taught in this story about God is done in a way that any little girl can understand. Gabby, God's Little Angel would make a great book for an upcoming baptism, birthday or Christmas.  \Sharing Gods love with my daughter is not always going to be easy so it's nice to find books out there that she not only likes to look at, giving me the time to share the story with her.

Deb’s Here The story is just right for my little granddaughters to understand that God loves us and we do all have angels to watch over us. This would be a great book to give as a gift as I think that any little girl would love it!!

Maopa at Luscious Deals Our little ones absolutely love this book and can't get enough of reading about Gabby! They love angels and were easily drawn to the beautiful illustrations and the wonderful story of God's Little Angel, Gabby. This is on our list of Christmas presents to give this year.

Lisa at A Casual Reader's Blog This book is adorable! The story is told with wonderful joy and enthusiasm. The illustrations are bright and beautiful. Not only is Gabby a very fun character, but she brings a very important message. This book will definitely appeal to young girls. Not only will they want to keep up with Gabby, but they will also learn that God does love them and watch over them always. This book would be a great gift for young girls. I hope to see more adventures of Gabby. I can tell she's got a lot to teach us all!

Jane at Mozi Esmé The illustrations and storyline are very attractive, especially to little pink-loving princesses.  Esmé thinks Gabby is beautiful and is enamored with Glitter, the horse. I enjoyed the fonts and layout of the written story. I love the message of protection; of how guardian angels are there to show us how much we are loved by God. Our girls are inundated by messages of fairies and magic, and Esmé absolutely is drawn by them. This book is fiction, not theology, allowing it the flexibility to use a similar appeal to draw girls to a much more powerful message of God’s love and protection. Replace fairies with angels?  Absolutely a win in my book. This book has triggered some interesting conversations about angels with my daughter, and I look forward to more in this series.

Mel's World with Melsisa Mashburn Little girls everywhere are going to fall in love with Gabby, God's Little Angel and when they do, moms, dads, teachers and grandparents alike will fall in love with her too. Today our little ones need to hear how much God loves them over and over again. We can gently guide them to that truth each and every time we sit down to read about Gabby and all her great adventures.

Heather at Proud Book Nerd An absolutely adorable book. It shares the message that God loves His children so much that He has His angels keep watch over us. We are constantly under His protection, and this book is the perfect way to introduce children to the idea that He has His angels right here with us. The illustrations are beautiful, and combined with the wonderful story about Sophie, they ensure that this is a story that children will love. My daughters (8 and 3) love it already!

Julie at My Kansas City Mommy What a sweet little book this is!  I really enjoyed reading Gabby, God's Little Angel.  The illustrations (by Marina Fedotova) are delightful - they capture the whimsical spirit of children but retain an air of classic beauty.  It is very refreshing to see Christian children's literature like Gabby. Young readers will be captivated by Gabby's story and will surely turn eagerly to this series for many reading adventures.

Julee at Mommy's Memorandum A beautiful story and by the end I was choking back my own tears. Gabby, God’s Little Angel captured my children’s attention immediately. We all loved the illustrations and I was particularly fond of the message of God loves them and designates an angel to protect them.

Linda's Lunacy Gabby, God’s Little Angel is such a sweet book, with charming drawings on every page. Your little ones are sure to love this book. You’ll love it, too. I know I do!

Kristin at Impatiently Wishing on a Star This is such a beautiful book, both the story and the illustrations. The lesson was great, even my three year old SON got it. He does not sit still for long and he sat in my lap and paid attention through the entire book. He was fascinated with the pictures and would point out things as I read

Heather at Faith, Family and Fun GREAT VIDEO REVIEW “There are even ponies!” What a good new series for kids! I really like Sheila Walsh’s stories for children, especially the Gigi ones. This new series is a sweet, comforting one. With this series, Walsh shows her understanding of children as she shares the good news. Themes of God’s love and protection run all through the tales and there are beautifully drawn and colored illustrations, by Marina Fedotova.

Lisa at Our Country Road One of the cutest books I have read in quite awhile!  The message of the book tells little girls (and not so little girls) that God loves them, and is always watching over them.  It introduces the idea of guardian angels by introducing us to Gabby, the guardian angel of a little girl named Sophie. My girls enjoyed the bright, colorful photos, and that Sophie rides horses in the story {my girls love horses}.  Gabby, God's Little Angel can be a great way to start discussions about guardian angels and the way they help the Lord and us.

9/29

Melissa at Keeping Up With The Rheinlander's This is a lovely book to read with your little ones!! My little monkey oohed and awed over the beautiful illustrations. It is a cute story to introduce God's love to children at an age where they can really start to understand what love is and who God is! The actual story is a little advanced for my little one (who is almost 2) but we will enjoy reading it when she is older and able to comprehend more. She LOVED when the horse came up in the story and it made it very personal for us since  Auntie T rides horses! I would definitely recommend this book to others.

Simply Stacie My three young children were delighted to learn more about the sweet little angel named Gabby. In a time where there are so many frightening things in the world, it is comforting to have books like this one for children that warm, encouraging and reassuring. My children’s eyes grew wide with excitement as they were reminded that “God loves them” and it also gives them comfort that “he is watching over them!” As a mom who is passionate about instilling faith and love in my children, this is the perfect message to share with them. The first night (of many) that they have asked me to read this story to them, I noticed that their evening prayers included a special wish to “protect all of the angels in heaven” which made my heart skip a beat.

9/30

Staci at 7 on a Shoestring The girls and I sat down to read Gabby, God’s Little Angel the first time and were instantly drawn to Gabby’s sweet, yet strong, personality. We are reminded that as we go through this life, God loves us and is always watching over us. In a day and age where vampires, werewolves, and wizards are at the forefront of most of the media our children see, it was encouraging to read an uplifting story of faith. We believe strongly in our faith and were happy to continue to read Gabby’s story with the girls every night. During prayer time, the girls asked for a special blessing over their angel. Plus, we often speak of our baby Reagan being a special angel in Heaven, and reading this story helped the girls understand what that meant. The illustrations by Marina Fedotova were beautiful and the girls loved looking at the pictures as I read along. I would recommend this book to any parent, as it portrays a story of God’s love and protection.

Dusty at To the Moon and Back Adorable! This story is well-written, easy to follow, but not watered down to kids.  Sweetpea fell in love with the book the instant she saw it.  What girl doesn't love sparkles?  She has read it alone many times and I have read it to her quite a few times as well.  I would recommend this book to any little girl!

Brynna at Joy Filled Living This was an adorable book!! The story sends a message to children, comforting them with the reminder that God's angels are watching over us as in Psalm 91:11. The illustrations in the book are so colorful and "light" that I thought they really helped convey the message. I thought this book was so sweet that I am actually saving it as a special gift for my daughters. I know it is one that they will want to read again and again!!

Jen at Happy Little Homemaker I loved the illustrations in Gabby, God’s Little Angel!  The story was very cute and my almost 4 year old seemed to identify with Sophie and Gabby.  The message of the book really captured her.  I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone with little girls who is trying to find religious books that are fun & cute.

Mandie at Taking time for Mommy We start every day out with our Devotional and my girls immediately bring me this book to read afterwards. In a time where there is so much to  influence our children it’s nice to have such a good inspirational book to encourage them.

10/3

Stacy at Mom in Training She is not only an amazing speaker, but an equally amazing author too! I loved this book and so did my 5-year old daughter.  I wasn't sure which she liked more the actual story or the illustrations in the book that went along with the story.  It really kept her interest and I think the pictures helped her imagine what it's like to have a guardian angle following you around all day helping you out.  I think it's important for children to hear books like this so they can have the comfort of knowing that God is always watching over them and that he deeply cares about every part of their day.  Definitely a must have for your home library!

Karyn at Teach Beside Me When I read it with my children, it led us to a great discussion about how God is always watching over us and protects us.  They loved it and loved the idea of being watched over by angels in Heaven.  As we talked about it, I asked my son how that made him feel- he said "safe".  I thought that was just perfect!

Carrie at Farming On Faith This book is adorable. As a young girl I studied angels from God's perspective~ in the Bible. It was an amazing study and I am so very thankful that God does say we have angels to watch over us. I think at times I have given mine much to do. This book is just delightful and I am giving one away. All you have to do is leave me a comment and tell if you have started your Christmas shopping. This book will make a wonderful Christmas present for any young child in your life. I love this book.

Loni at Writing Canvas Highly Recommended!

Rhiana at A Frugal Life The artwork is sweet and full of pastels and sparkles. I loved the sweet little cherubic faces of the child angels. A lot of other reviewers seem to get hung up on the "falsehoods" about angels. I think this is silly. This is a children's book, the story has a good moral, it gets kids interested in God and Angels and it's good fun! Any kid would enjoy this book.

Emmi at Mommy's Free Time My daughter grabbed it as soon as we got it in the mail and carried it around all day long "reading" it. Then finally she asked me to read it. I love that it was all about taking responsibilty and being a "big girl", all things that my daughter has been working on. She's only 3, almost 4, but she just started preschool and is starting to do things for herself. I also liked the way Gabby, the little guardian angel, made sure that Sophie was okay. It really let my daughter know that it's okay to try new things because there will always be someone up high looking out for her. This really works perfect for my family. My husband is deployed and I told my daughter that, Daddy has a guardian angel too that looks out for him while he is out protecting us.

Debbie at Christian Stay at Home Moms This hardback book is just the kind of book I like to read to my daughters.  Beautifully and brightly illustrated, we sat and read this sweet story together and when I finished, my girls begged me to read it again immediately. Gabby, who is in guardian angel training, is assigned to Sophie – a “precocious girl who needs LOTS and LOTS of protection.”  Illustrating God’s love for us, this is a good introduction to the protection that God’s angels may often provide for us.  In terms my daughters could understand, peppered with Sheila’s sense of humor – this book is a pleasure to read and has become one of our favorite reads together!
