Reviews

  • I highly recommend getting the KNOW THE WORD STUDY BIBLE. The statement on the cover is not just advertising hype: “GAIN A GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF THE BIBLE:”

  • WORD Up! says:

The KJV “Know the Word Study Bible” offers various resources for the study of Scripture including: topical articles, “how to” study helps for each book including a list of the “highlights” of each book if you want a quick overview rather than to read a book in its entirety. You can also study verses with notes that clarify meaning. Other features include Christ’s words in red, concordance and maps.

The special study features are basic. This Bible would be an OK introduction to these types of Bible study. I am giving this Bible 4 stars because it is a Bible, but I believe the student of Scripture could find better study Bibles to use.

  • I really like this study bible. I received it in hardback form. It has about everything a person would want or need in a study bible. I like the topics it provides and the concordance. I like the 3 approached it gives to study the Word of God.
This would be a great Christmas gift! I would highly recommend this study bible.

  • My overall all feelings toward this book is that I love it! It is easy to carry, large print, Jesus words in red, and a concordance. There are so many ways to dig deeper into the Word which I find very helpful. Each book starts by telling the reader how to study that book, as well as book highlights. I recommend this Bible to all students of the Word.

  • I definitely have to say this is certainly a Bible to consider giving to someone who is wanting to learn more about the Bible but isn’t sure where to start. I would have loved this when I was young teen and was basically using the method of opening the Bible randomly and reading something and that would be my Bible “study”.

It’s a great Bible for what it is intended to be, and I think that’s all we can really ask of any study Bible.

  • I’ve reviewed study bibles before, and every time, I have wished it was a KJV version, now I finally have one! With maps! I love maps! I love graphics, I love all the interspersed articles and how one thing leads you to another when studying.

  • MysteriesEtc says:

Great study bible for those who like the language of the King James version. Sometimes you just want to study the Word as it was in your childhood. The KJV can be very comforting that way.

  • A KJV Know the Word Bible is great Bible for teen and tween Bible studies and also good for to do in-depth Bible studies for mature Christians too. Each book starts with a summary of the historical perspective and situation to give the reader an understanding of the context for the book.

  • A wonderful Bible that any Bible person should have. Even if you know the book through and through you will learn something new. This study Bible was an awesome one. I have read a few study Bible’s in the past and present but nothing is compared to this one. I really loved how this was set-up.

  • Best Reads says:

I guess what I like the most about this study bible’s approach is that it makes me think. I can’t just skim a verse and call it a day. There so much more that beckons to me. Entices me to stay awhile. Ponder more deeply. And it’s all delivered in digestible doses that make me feel like I just might have the potential to become a biblical scholar some day after all.

  • Moments says:

Personally, with this Bible the verse by verse approach is what I love.  I feel like a great job was done in this area as verses are really broken down word by word in most cases so that a clear understanding can really be gained and an in-depth study.  With so many notes included throughout the Bible is still a clear layout and the pages do not look/feel overwhelming at all to me, the verses and notes are spaced nicely.

  • This study Bible has some really good features. It has a nice presentation page in the front and a concordance and full color maps in the back. Each book of the Bible starts with a summary, a “how to study”, and “study the book highlights”. Throughout each section there are multiple study notes and insights. All of this creates a well thought out, nicely put together study Bible.

  • For years I have wanted to study the Bible – like REALLY study it. But I honestly did not know where to start. The thought of just picking it up and trying to break down verses was intimidating to me, but I have not been able to get my hands on a KJV resource. This Bible is the answer to my prayers – literally!

  • Kcreatives says:

I grew up with KJV. Though I now use a differently translation, I still know the KJV is an accurate translation and will recommend it to people. I like the tools like topical articles, maps, and footnotes.

  • The Know the Word Study Bible from Thomas Nelson was SO MUCH FUN to get to review. I know that sounds super nerdy, but I just love reading the Bible and texts that help me understand it better. This Bible has both in one book. I would recommend this book for a relatively new believer that is looking for a deeper understanding of the Word of God.

  • A very well made and beautiful Bible that is great for any faith based family to enjoy. It would make an excellent gift as well. The notes will will you to really understand the scripture. It can be difficult for young readers, but you can use this for discussions.

  • I consider the KJV, Know The Word Study Bible to be a modest study Bible. This is not a bad thing. It is not equivalent to the ESV Study Bible which is thorough. The KJV, Know The Word Study Bible is a beginning study Bible—for an audience of KJV Bible reader’s who do not want a large amount of study material to read through, but with an emphasis on the King James Version with supplemental note

  • This Bible was absolutely fantastic! I really enjoyed reading KJV translation because I feel it really enables you to understand the original words of the Bible. I highly recommend this for anyone, who really want’s to dig deeper into the Bible

  • I am so very honored and happy to have the opportunity to share with you this new release of a King James Version of God’s Word. Thomas Nelson Publishing always does a wonderful job of producing Bibles and this edition is no exception.

  • I love reading my Bible!!!! I have never had a Study Bible before, so I would just do my own Bible Studies. This Study Bible has many helpful insights and suggestions about how to study your Bible.

  • The bible text is small, but it is packed with plenty to keep you learning and growing in God’s Word.

  • This bible had it all and this is meant for you. Because this study Bible offers a deep content in an approachable way.

  • I liked how this Bible is done. It makes it very easy to read and study the Word. The explanations and descriptions given help you understand if needed. As I read it, I thought this would be good for both a young christian and someone just trying to gain more understanding.

  • My Full Cup says:

I love that the first time I opened the Bible the pages did not stick together. This is probably due to the hardback, but I’m a fan of that! Again, this will sound weird but I liked the notes feature because not everyone is like me. Some people use them so having them available is a great thing!

  • Even though I don’t particularly like this Bible translation, this is an excellent study Bible. Whether you’re new to Bible study or you’ve studied the Bible all of your life, this Bible is an excellent resource for personal Bible study.

  • This Bible is one of the perfect tools that I have come across. If you’re like me, then you probably like to compare different versions and notes to help dig deeper into the Scriptures. That’s exactly what the KJV Know the Word Study Bible does. It’s perfect for those who desire to be a student of the Word of God.

  • The KJV Know The Word Study Bible is a wonderful Bible for anyone who wants to read the Bible regularly and really study it. Readers can choose to go book by book, verse by verse, or topic by topic.

  • The KJV Know The Word Study Bible by Thomas Nelson Publishers is a decent study Bible for newcomers to the Christian faith or those seeking to study the Bible from a book-by-book or topic-by-topic perspective. The strength of this study Bible is found in the emphasis on studying the scripture from both a broad scope and a narrow lens. The weakness of this study bible is found in the verse-by-verse study notes.

  • Buzz4Mommies says:

This is a great way to study the Bible!

  • I am finding myself reaching for this Bible each day in my study of the Word.

  • I have been using the Know the Word Study Bible in the King James Version during my morning reading time because it helps you understand more of what your reading in vastly different ways. You can read it book by book which is how I have been doing it, but more along the lines of the chronological way the events happened, or you can just study the Bible verse by verse or even topic by topic. I find most people gravitate to the Bible by the topic at hand in their life the most when they reference it, like a quick answer guide of sorts.

  • God is Love says:

I’ve been looking for a new study Bible for about a year now. So when this opportunity to read and review the KJV Know the Word Study Bible arrived, I took it and it’s been a great blessing to me.

While I have not read it from Genesis to Revelation yet, I have spent time in this version of God’s Word and I love it!

This Study Bible is well organized. The layout is user-friendly. I love the attention to detail.

The publishers have produced an impeccable product with no editorial mistakes. The content is accurate. The study materials allow the reader to go deep into God’s Word with topic-by-topic articles throughout the entire book! The topics include but are not limited to God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, Love, Salvation, Christ Follower, Obedience, Purpose…

  • I think this is a nice study Bible and I will get a lot of use out of it in my personal devotional time. If you enjoy studying the scriptures and diving in a little deeper to God’s Word then this would be a nice Bible to pick up and have on hand. I feel like this would also make a nice gift for those that are just starting to study deeper in the scriptures also. If I had to mention anything that I would change it would be making the text larger and perhaps more of the verse by verse notes, but neither of those would stop me from recommending this KJV of the Know the Word Study Bible.

  • Thomas Nelson Publisher’s have give us a new study bible, The KJV Know the Word Study Bible, that offers three easy ways to begin studying Scripture and helps individuals transition from being a casual reader of the Bible to becoming a regular student of the Bible.

The book-by-book series of notes leads you through the main points of each book of the Bible. The verse-by-verse notes help you to dig deeper into God’s Word. • I love anything that breaks the bible down so I can unpack the verses and learn more about what God is saying. This was a wonderful tool to add to my bible study references. It has great colorful maps at the end of the book. Sometimes the KJV can be hard to break down, but the foot notes and breakdowns helped me to understand it.

  • One of my favorite books of the Bible is Romans. I decided to flip there and see what treasure I would find. It gives you an overview of how to study the Book of Romans in easy to understand terms. As an extra it also highlights some of the scriptures that represent the theme of the book. I can’t say enough great things about this bible. I’m glad I had a chance to look at it and it will be close to me at all times. There are several ways you can use this bible to study with as each one leads you to a deeper understanding of His word. I encourage everyone to get a copy and start your journey into this well designed bible.

I received a copy of this bible from LitFuse. The review is my own opinion.

  • MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
This KJV Know the Word Study Bible offers three ways to study the Bible. You can study Verse by Verse, Book by Book or Tooic by Topic. Either way you study, you will have a more understanding of The Word of God. We all study differently, so this Bible makes it easy whichever way you want to study. I have enjoyed using the verse by verse study, it give an easier and more simplistically way to study, which makes it nice if you don’t have a lot of time to study. This Bible offers many other tools to study including these:

Insightful introductions for each book of Scripture
    Words of Jesus in red
    Beautiful two-color interior page design
    Comprehensive list of theological notes
    Concordance
    Full-color maps

  • A Rup Life says:

This is a wonderful hard back KJV bible. I’ve been looking for this bible my entire adult life. It is packed with all the necessary studying features. I love how much deeper I can dig in this book.

  • If you are looking for a study Bible that allows you to dig deeper into the Bible without overwhelming you – one that allows you to grow and study at your own speed – then the KJV Know The Word Study Bible is a good choice for you!

The KJV Know The Word Study Bible helps you to learn more about the Bible by studying it in the way you are most comfortable exploring its riches: book by book, verse by verse, or topically. The notes are interesting, informative, and easy-to-read.

This Bible has lots of nice features, including the words of Jesus in red print, a concordance, and full color maps. It’s a great Bible for new and intermediate Bible students.

  • This Bible offers you three choices on how to study the Bible, book-by-book, verse-by-verse, and topic-by-topic. I found the topic-by-topic quite insightful and after reading them I have a better understanding of each topic.

This is a red letter edition with a concordance in the back and I believe this would be a great addition to any Bible scholars library.

I would like to thank Litfuse for my review copy of this great edition of the Bible.

  • The Know the Word Study Bible is very different from my other study Bibles.  They are intended to be easy to understand, or are full of color pictures, but this one feels more conservative and old-fashioned in nature.  It’s chock-full of explanatory notes meant to help the reader understand the history and meaning of words and verses.  The explanations take a very conservative stance, and I appreciate the way that they explain a variety of views and which one is most researched or plausible.

  • The KJV Know the Word Study Bible is an excellent addition to anyone’s Bible study repertoire. The word studies are excellent and add so much depth to any Bible study. I highly recommend getting this Bible!

  • This is a very good next step if you’ve been reading your Bible. It’s going from merely reading (that’s a good thing) to actually digging in and studying.

I’ve found this Bible very helpful, especially if you’re a King James reader.

  • I grew up on the King James Version, and we still use it at my church exclusively, except on the rare occasion my pastor uses the NKJV. I personally rarely use it, but this Bible intrigued me. I went ahead and requested it, and am glad I did.

I like a Bible with study notes on the verses, and this Bible has some great notes on the verses. As with other Bibles, there are not notes on every single verse, but they cover a lot of the verses throughout the Bible.

This Bible also has book-by-book notes. At the beginning of each book are notes on how to study that book, with study the book highlights. I also found these well done and useful.

Scattered throughout the Bible are highlighted verses or topics with an area for more insight.

I found this to be a useful Study Bible to use while reading and studying the Bible, and I feel it is very well done.

  • This one is excellent! I especially enjoy the topic searches, since I like to follow topics when they grab my attention, and this Bible makes that easy to do.

  • Are you looking for a study Bible? This is a nice hardback Bible. There are 1,888 pages with pages that are actually printed on a heavy weight paper. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a Bible with this type of paper. Which is nice if your writing notes or using highlighters and worry about it bleeding through the pages.

The Bible doesn’t have a ribbon bookmark. I personally like those bookmarks as I don’t have to worry about losing my page due to my bookmark falling out. That’s just a minor thing. The words of our Lord and Savior Jesus are in red.

The Bible has the typical Table of Contents to help you locate your book in both the Old and New Testament quickly.

Topic by Topic Article which is 3 pages long. It gives you the page numbers of short articles throughout the Bible covering many topics from salvation covenant and so on.

KJV Know The Word Study Bible also has the basic Forward section that talks about the features in this particular Bible, and a Preface on the New King James Bible.

Each book starts out with an introduction with a brief summary of the book. It points out some key points in the book that you may want to dig in deeper with your studying.

KJV Know The Word Study Bible offers three ways you can study the word “Book by Book”, “Verse by Verse”, and “Topic by Topic”.

The Book by Book has notes that lead you through some of the main points of the book.

Verse by Verse is just what it says there are study notes throughout covering certain verses and all the extra sidebar notes, footnotes, and articles throughout.

Topic by Topic there are 21 topics that you can study that are highlighted to guide you in a more in-depth study of those topics.

Each book has a “How to Study” that particular book. There are some interesting thoughts and some questions to draw your attention to while reading.

There are sidebars that have “Study the Book Highlights” in which these are notes that highlight certain scriptures.

In the back of the Bible like your Monies, Weight, and Measures and it breaks it down in more details over 3 pages. A nice Concordance is included in the back. The last pages are 8 full colored maps.

My conclusions’ are that this is a nice study Bible that isn’t complicated to use. It has a nice layout for ease of use. Some of the articles are interesting. This would make a nice Bible for your studies or as a gift.

  • Whenever I get a new Bible to review I use it for my Bible Study and church Bible for a couple of months to see how I liked the features. This Bible passed my tests with flying colors. It is a King James version Bible which I don’t read very often but I found that I didn’t mind it that much. I liked reading the notes in the footnotes as well as the studies in the study pages. The maps where really nice to have as well as the concordance. I would say that this Bible would really help you to know the Bible better. America is in a major time of Biblical illiteracy and this Bible would go a long way to help out with that.

  • I am really enjoying the KJV Know the Word Study Bible. This Bible offers a book-by-book, verse-by-verse, or topic-by-topic study of God’s Word. In addition to the insightful study paths offered, I also appreciate the concordance and maps that are included. I have utilized the verse-by-verse approach and look forward to continuing to implement the other approaches in my studies.

  • Fruitbearers says:

I’m currently studying Philippians so I’ve been using this study Bible to give me a deeper, clearer understanding. I appreciate the concise book introductions which offer insight into each book’s background, author, audience, purpose, and message. The Study the Book sidebars are great, too; they expound each book’s major themes and teachings. The verse by verse footnotes are extensive and very helpful.

  • Noveltea says:

    Why I Choose this Book:

It looked nice and like something I could learn from.

What I Thought about this Book:

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got the Bible. This year I’ve been using a Woman’s Study Bible, so I think subconsciously I was comparing the two, and yet they’re quite different.

Some of My Favorite Features in Know the Word Study Bible:

The way it’s set up is pretty cool. It has various topics that it talks about Purpose or God the Holy Spirit, or Love, etc…. And then there are boxes throughout the Bible where that topic is discussed. In a way it kinda reminds me of a treasure hunt, because at the end of each box it tells where in the Bible the next box on that subject is. That’s probably one of my favorite parts.
At the beginning of each book it gives a Summary of

  • My favorite part of the KJV Know the Word Study Bible is the book introductions which include a one-sentence summary, how to study the book and highlights from the book. These highlights give more insight helping you learn more about the particular section you are reading.

Know the Word Study Bible, will help you do more than just read. You will learn what makes the book important to the rest of the Bible, how to study each book with the theme in mind and think about what each passage is trying to convey.

You are presented with three different ways to study–book by book, verse by verse and topic by topic (covering 21 theological topics).

The Know the Word Study Bible will equip you to study the Bible on your own and help you dig deeper into God’s Word for spiritual growth.

This is going to be a favorite study Bible and perfect for the person who wants to learn how to study the Bible.

  • More Of Him says:

I’ve really enjoyed this Bible! It’s packed with so much information and I’ve learned things I didn’t know about before.

This Bible is easy to read because the font is large enough for most of us to read easily. The wonderful study notes at the bottom of each page are so great for helping us to understand what we are reading in the Scriptures.

My favorite thing is the “Study The Book” sections throughout the Bible. These blocks of information are so wonderful because they give you a greater understanding of the times and people you’re reading about. This information is written in a story-like fashion so it’s easily understood and interesting to read.

This is a wonderful Bible for reading and for using with your Bible studies. It will help you understand the Bible in a deeper way.

  • I have truly appreciated the commentary & insight provided within this study Bible. If you are like me and don’t typically read KJV (I personally use ESV as my main translation when reading & studying the Word of God), it is still a great resource. I use the KJV Know the Word Study Bible to look more in depth at the verses. I appreciate how the study bible not only provides a summary, but provides a “How to Study” each particular book, actions we can take to follow through with what God is calling us to, who we are in Christ, and what we need to be going after. The segmented areas of this Study Bible are extremely clear and don’t add anything ‘extra’ to what is specifically being said in the Word.

  • Book by Book says:

For Bible readers and studiers, the KJV Know the Word Study Bible offers multiple opportunities to grow, supplement, and enhance current Bible knowledge. With three different and easy-to-use methods of exploring the Bible, it provides an excellent resource for learning and understanding more.

  • Overall, I like the Know The Word Study Bible and would recommend it. It does offer more features than any other compact study bible I’ve seen. I believe this bible would work best for a new believer as it’s not too intimidating or overwhelming.

  • This break down of the KJV Bible is a great addition to anyone’s collection as it is really has a lot of helpful information that is a great addition. I loved how there were maps included which are really helpful when trying to figure out where everything is. Loved how there were 3 approaches to studying the Bible, Book by Book. Verse by Verse and Topic by topic.
This is a gorgeous edition that would make a fabulous present or gift to oneself.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

  • I love this Bible. It’s so helpful in all areas of life. Not only for personal use, but also for classes and for making my devotionals for my kiddos at work. This is certainly a great investment for anyone looking for a good study Bible.

  • This book seems sound, and like a great Bible all around.

  • If you love studying the Bible the KJV Know The Word Study Bible would make a nice addition to your library. I have several study Bibles and each one gives me new and different insight into the Bible.

  • The King James Bible Know the Word Study Bible is a very helpful and insightful study Bible. The explanations are very informative without being overwhelming. Of course, the Holy Spirit will always help you understand if we just ask Him. By using this Bible, it will help you to actually study God’s Word instead of just reading it.

  • This study Bible is very easy to read and helps the reader understand the text better. I loved the book introductions, as I found them interesting and helpful in giving a summary of what the following book is about. The verse-by-verse notes are really great, but I do wish there were notes on every verse.

  • Pink Lucy says:

The “Know the Word Study Bible” is chocked full of knowledge. I’m not one to normally read KJV & you may not be either. So don’t let that sway you from this particular version. The study guide is Book by Book, Verse by Verse & Topic by Topic. It also has a concordance & full color maps, as well as the words of Jesus are in red letter. I enjoy seeing His words stand out on the page. So that is a plus for me!

  • I love study Bibles. A well-done study Bible can do much to enhance what time you have to study God’s Word.
A while back, I reviewed the New King James Version (NKJV) Know the Word Study Bible. So, when the King James Version (KJV) became available, I was very excited.
The KJV is my preferred translation, although I have branched out a little more in the past year.
Much like the NKJV, this wonderful Bible offers many different options to deepen your study, including book-by-book notes. This is a nice study tool that highlights different themes and leads you through each book in the Bible.

  • Thomas Nelson breaks the Bible down book by book, verse by verse and provides and easy to read and direct review of the Bible. This book leads you through the main points of the Bible and helps you to interpret sometimes difficult messages. This has been one of the most rewarding, easy reads I have ever finished! A must read for everyone!

  • Let me start by saying that I do not typically use the KJV in my daily life. However, I absolutely love having this on hand for all of my historical writing. And, let’s just get one thing straight – any version that says Charity is the greatest…I’m on board!

  • I have been using the KJV Know The Word Study Bible by Thomas Nelson in my morning quiet time with the Lord. Each morning I spend time reading the Bible and writing down the things that standout to me, a new thing, an old thing and something I can use to apply to my life. This Bible makes it so easy for me to study out the parts I do not understand, to find answers to my questions and to go deeper if need be. One thing I like to do during my quiet time is to compare different translations of the Bible for the Scripture passage that I am reading. This helps me to better understand the passages.

  • This Study Bible is incredible and would make an amazing gift for anyone who is already loves to study the Word or who is looking to dive in more deeply. I think the only thing of note is the fact that it is in the King James Version which, (to me) isn’t always the easiest to read or understand. I think if you grew up with this version or are very familiar with it, this edition would be perfect for you!
