  • Colleen Coble is an author known for her juicy novels. She leaves no page left unturned. This book has something happening in every chapter. It is sure to get under your skin and pretty soon you can’t put it down.

  • I very much enjoyed it. I loved how Ms. Coble kept you guessing as to what would happen next. Of course for the summertime a setting along the Outer Banks works well for Beach read season. The characters are also memorable and weaves a tapestry of emotion and conflict throughout the novel.

Have you ever read a novel that you want to find out more but the author makes you wait? I have a hard time being patient but realize the journey is worth it in the end. I found that there were some slow spots during the novel. Overall an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more in the Hope Beach series.

  • I loved Tidewater Inn so I was eager to return to the island and read the latest installment in this series. Coble has raised her own bar in this multi-layered novel. An intricately woven plot containing plenty of suspense and action kept me holding my breath and not certain who I could trust, and several twists caught me by surprise.

  • Rosemary Cottage follows Tidewater Inn in Colleen Coble’s popular Hope Beach series. The Outer Banks of North Carolina create an enchanting backdrop for this story where all is not as it seems. Mystery, adventure, conspiracy, and romance come together in a story that I found hard to put down.

  • This is a good novel of mystery and romance. I was intrigued with the theme of questioning how well we really know our siblings, or any other person. I was delighted to learn about midwifery, natural healing with herbs, winter surfing and cold water immersion. The plot is believable and there are enough twists, turns and interesting characters that Coble kept me turning pages to the surprise ending. I thought I knew who the bad guy was but Coble deftly crafted a twist at the end.

  • Rosemary Cottage is a fast-paced, action-packed, and exciting story that is full of adventure, mystery, suspense and romance. The author does a wonderful job of weaving a compelling story that gradually builds upon the suspense and excitement of unraveling a mystery with a touch of romance in the mix, while keeping the reader engaged until the unexpected surprise ending.

  • I’ve read Colleen Coble before, so I knew Rosemary Cottage would be nothing short of wonderful and it did not let me down.

  • I was immediately drawn into the mystery of Rosemary Cottage, and I found myself cheering for Amy and Curtis to both discover the truth, and fall in love. As the story unfolded, I did find myself suspicious of some of the characters. In the end, the danger didn’t come from the character I suspected, but it was linked to that person. The plot had enough twists to keep me guessing and surprise me a bit at the end, though I expected to feel more tension at the end of the book. I was surprised I didn’t feel more concern for the very dangerous situation the characters were in.

  • Mystery, murder, betrayal, love and forgiveness are all great words to describe this story. Colleen Coble has done a great job telling a story that will take you on quite a ride.

  • Two people drawn together by deaths of siblings; drawn to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Are the deaths connected in some way? Can Amy and Curtis remain safe while investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths? In her second book of the Hope Island series, Colleen Coble answers some of our questions.

  • I think Rosemary’s Cottage is just the pick for a vacation read. It has everything you’re looking for–suspense, mystery, romance, and take away lessons to think on long after. In fact, Colleen shares that this is the book that was inspired in part by her own brother’s death years ago. I pray God blessed Colleen with healing as she wrote as much as her writing blesses her readers.

  • When I read a Colleen Coble novel, I am always ready for a good mystery and lots of action and adventure, and “Rosemary Cottage” did not disappoint. I like to be entertained when I read a novel, and it’s fun to try to figure out who the bad guys are and what their motivations are for doing what they do.

  • Well this one was great! I didnt know that it was a book two but it didnt take away from the story! So if you love mystery, romance, and of course suspence than this is DEFF one you will want to pick up!! “*I received a copy of this book for free to review, this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.”

  • I think I actually liked this one a bit more than the first. There is a really good, solid mystery along with a very sweet romance. I thought the mystery was really intriguing. I was sucked in right away and couldn’t put the book down. I wanted to know what really happened to Gina and Ben. I won’t give it away, but you can count on the fact that not everything is as it seems. The twist surprised me in the end!

  • Rosemary Cottage is a coming-home place for Amy Lange, but this time she is coming home to memories. Struggles are uncovered in unsuspected ways. Held-tight images are barriers, wondering if Curtis and Amy will be able to overcome the obstacles.

  • This book has a little bit of everything in it. Mysteries, murder, kidnapping, romance and politics! Amy’s brother, Ben was in the center of it all and Amy was determined to figure it all out. She did not believe her brother was in an accident at sea and died. She came back to her family’s home on Hope Island hoping to find answers.

  • The IE Mommy says:

I will so impressed with this story and the constant twists and turns that had my first convinced of one ending and then another. What really happens in the end, I never saw coming! Rosemary Cottage is the perfect summer romance/mystery!

  • The rich language used to describe the characters captured my attention immediately. I was able to picture each one and began to try to help them solve their problems. In my mind, I could see them struggling and so wanted to help them . Each character became my best friend. To feel their emotions, is something that captivates the reader. To me, that is what makes a good read. I have to be able to identify with the main characters, in order to enjoy the book. And this book met my criteria and more!!

  • Coble’s writing is detailed and her characters seem alive. This is a great read for a rainy day that will be nearly impossible to put down.

  • I have never read any books by Colleen Coble, but she did a great job of quickly letting the reader get to know the main characters and to just as quickly get the reader fully entangled in the tale. It wasn’t long after I started reading that I reached the point of not wanting to put the book down. I was intrigued and wanted to know the answer to so many questions that were quickly accumulating in my head.

I loved how the story had its ups and downs, things didn’t neatly fall into place over the course of the story, there were struggles and decisions that were made that changed the lives of many. It was a great combination of a love story, as Amy and Curtis came to realize their attraction and suspense, as the characters searched for the answers.

I really enjoyed reading the book.

  • Cara Putman says:

This book kept me guessing even as I anticipated some of the twists. My daughter was absolutely convinced I could never anticipate everything that would happen. She was right — though I did unwind more of it than she did! I love a book that keeps me guessing. I enjoy books with a satisfying romance. Put the two together, and I am a very happy reader. This book is perfect for those who love romantic mysteries.

  • With each page turned, your heart will become just a bit more attached to Hope Beach and its occupants. With each patient of Amy’s you’ll pray for a safe delivery and for Curtis to come home after another daring sea rescue. You’ll want Raine to be safe and for Heather’s motives to come to light and for someone to tell the lovebirds to get with it already and see the Cupid flying about overhead.

    You’ll want to – but you can’t.

They’re only characters in a book.

    Only you forgot that.

    It’s that good.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this story from the very beginning till the very end. This is my first Colleen Coble book! Yes! I have seen a lot of books written by this author, and I have been wanting to try a book out by her to see how she writes for quite some time now, and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing. I would never hesitate to pick up another one of her books.

  • With a name like “Rosemary Cottage” and a lovely cover painting of a romantic seaside cottage, a reader might expect a summer love story from Colleen Coble’s latest novel. What you’ll find instead is a mystery that will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. I was hooked from the first page.

  • By The Book says:

Colleen Coble takes her readers back to Hope Beach in the Outer Banks with a new romantic suspense novel, Rosemary Cottage. Full of rich description, great characters and a story of loyalty and betrayal, this novel is perfect to take on your late summer vacation.

  • If you have enjoyed this series or have never read a book by Ms. Coble before, the Hope Beach series is one to try!

  • Skillfully written in care amidst a nurturing, healing environment with persuasive underpinnings of mystery that is sure to keep readers guessing, Coble’s story is a charming summer read not to be missed!

  • Once again author Colleen Coble has written an intriguing murder mystery with a touch of romance.

  • Folks, wonderful book lovers let me tell you this series Hope Beach is fantastic. Rosemary Cottage is book two in the series and I got so wrapped up in this book, it was just as good as book one. It seems I had to wait forever for it, and it was so worth the wait!
Colleen writes the best suspense books. It sure did not hurt that they are set in North Carolina which is where I live now.
You are sure to fall in love with Amy and Curtis. I was so sad to see the story end.
I highly recommend this great beach read.
I gave this book 5 stars.
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for my honest review.

  • The second installment in The Hope Beach series, the story is again set in a fictional location within the Outer Banks area. For me, the setting is as important as the characters and storyline. The author has written so descriptively that I can see the island as clearly as if I were there. Although it is the second of a series, it works perfectly as a stand-alone novel.

Although it is a “clean” romance and mystery, there is enough suspense to keep the most discerning mystery reader engaged. As Curtis and Amy investigate the deaths of their siblings, they learn that we never really know a person. Truths are uncovered throughout the story that will keep you guessing until the end.

  • WV Stitcher says:

I found myself swept into the story from the beginning pages when Gina, Curtis Ireland’s sister is basically run down by a motorboat, thing is she recognized the person on the boat, but who was it? That along with wanting to know about Ben and what happened to him propelled me into this story to find the answers! Suspense filled with more than a few twists kept me turning the pages, and the romance was a nice bonus. Ms. Coble captured the beauty of the area that she writes about, allowing the setting to come to life for me. Overall, anyone who enjoys mystery/suspense with a sweet romance and a nice christian theme woven in will enjoy this one.

  • Cummins Life says:

Coble does a fascinating job developing the characters, the scenery and the storyline. She has such a way of drawing you into the story – I love her writing style and ability to engage the reader at a deeper level. Rosemary Cottage is full of mystery, suspense, romance and so much more. There is murder, heartache and deceit but it all comes out in the end – things you may have seen coming and things you definitely did not! I found this to be a quick and exciting read and I would recommend it, especially if you love mysteries and books that are not completely predictable (which I do).

  • Rosemary Cottage is a story of faith, hope and love. The author has woven a beautiful story out of wonderful characters and a beautiful place to live. I really loved it and I enjoyed reading it.

  • Rosemary Cottage is the latest book in the Hope Beach Novel series by Colleen Coble. Rosemary Cottage takes us back to the Outer Banks and reintroduces the reader to the residents we met while reading Tidewater Inn. The reader is drawn into a mystery/suspense where some people are willing to go to extreme measures to keep their secrets from being discovered without a second thought to the consequences. Talking about consequences…as Amy and Curtis’s relationship deepens there are things about themselves that they hold back, things that that could very well put a permanent wedge between them. Will they reveal the truth, or will they just walk away from each other?

  • I really enjoyed Rosemary Cottage and revisiting Hope Beach. The characters introduced in Tidewater Inn were there once again to greet me like old friends. Amy Lange and Curtis Ireland are an exciting couple, rough edges and all! Their story isn’t an easy one and yet you’ll cheer for them all the way through. Heather is brilliantly instrumental in “stirring the pot”. I was never able to relax with her around! And let’s not forget Fabio, the wild pony! He’s a whimsical, but crucial, character. A perfect example of why Colleen Coble is so loved- she never stops surprising her readers. Thank you, Colleen!

  • Let me start by saying that when I look at the cover, I can feel the warm, fine sand shifting under my sneakers as I walk up this path.
I can see the light, pink, sun-painted clouds spreading over the cottage.
I can hear the wind susurrating through the dune grass.

Second, let me say that this book was much more suspenseful that I presumed it would be…and that was really cool, to mix a story of blossoming love, happiness and hope with some suspense.
That is the way it should be done…life is like that.
Perplexing and sad at times, like the story of Gina and Ben…

This may be a serene beach town with the smell of soft salt breezes filling the air, but there are criminal elements here, centering on this innocent little girl
Raine and the people who love and protect her.

  • The mystery of the novel is nail-biting! Do not start reading this book before bed or you may not go to sleep because it’s a real page turner and hard to put down! The twists and turns of this book keep you on the edge of your seat and the surprise ending will be just shocking to you! Very excellent writing and amazing story that I highly recommend!

  • This was a great mystery that started at the beginning of the book with a recognized attacker. However the author takes you through a lot of drama and romance until the reader finds out who. The author kept me guessing and although the characters are from a previous book, that I did not read, I was able to read this book as a stand alone. I liked the reading group guide, and it was interesting to see some stuff that I could rethink.
I liked how the characters got strength from each other and heal from their pasts. I am giving this book a 4/5. I was given a copy to review from Litfuse, however all opinions are my own.

  • I know I wax poetic about a lot of books. In truth, even that is an understatement. Just let me say this: If you need a good, page turning book this summer, “Rosemary Cottage”, should definitely be on your list. From the first pages until the very end, I was captivated by the tale of loss, and hope in difficult circumstance.

The story articulately weaves the importance of faith and forgiveness without being too preachy. I loved the moments of intense uncertainty as the characters uncover a world of deceit and lies. Filled with mystery, romance, suspense and even murder, this book deserves a 5+ rating!

  • Rosemary Cottage is one of those books that you need to clear you schedule to read because once you pick it up you are not going to be able to put it down.

  • Colleen Cobel gives her characters heart, compassion, and faults. None of Colleen Coble’s characters are perfect. They all have faults just like you and I that we can identify with, relate to, and commiserate with as we read their stories. Rosemary Cottage is one of my favorite books of Colleen Coble’s. By the time I was finished reading it, I was ready to pack up my family and move on out to Hope Island!

  • Laura Hilton says:

I have long looked forward to reading Rosemary Cottage and it didn’t disappear. Ms. Coble is a master at suspense and romance. This book will be going on my keepershelf. Don’t miss Rosemary Cottage, or the first book in the series Tidewater Inn.

  • I really enjoyed reading this book. It is filled with everything I love- romance, mystery, and also some very appropriate babies and midwifery. The story definitely draws you in and makes you want to keep reading. This makes such a wonderful summer read and I recommend it to other women who enjoy this kind of book as well.

  • I absolutely love Colleen Coble’s newest book, Rosemary Cottage! It is the second book in her Hope Beach Series, the first in the series being Tidewater Inn. In general I just love the way she writes. Each chapter just builds so nicely on the last and the story never seems to drag on. Each and every part of her book leads you down a path you want to go and you enjoy. The characters seem real and believable. It also isn’t one of those overly romancy-type of books. It is full of suspense and mystery with a smattering of romance! I can honestly say that this is one book I had real trouble putting down. I just wanted to know what was next, how were things going to be resolved!

  • This is my first time that I have a read any novels by Colleen Coble. This is the second book in the Hope Beach Series. I was able to enjoy the story without reading the first one. I look forward to exploring more of Colleen Coble’s novels.
This is one of those books that is filled with suspense and twist and turns throughout the story. You just never know what to expect with each turn of the page. The book is well written and enjoyable to the end! I had a hard time putting it down.
All the characters are amazing. Each character is unique and real. I like it when characters are the average down to earth people. I love the spiritual aspect of this story. Even though we may sin and we are forgiven if we turn from our sins but we still have consequences of the choices we made. A reminder of how greed can ruin a person if we let it.
This is a wonderful book with and amazing plot. It makes me miss home in North Carolina with the descriptions of the Outer Banks which I haven’t been to in years.
Litfuse Publicity Group has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book. In no way was I asked to give a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

  • I LOVED this book! I could not put it down for the suspense surrounding two murders. Colleen is an excellent writer and did a great job with the characters and the plot. I was not sure I would like this book because I enjoy more historical fiction but I was wrong! The romance is there but I was more interested in the mystery then the two love birds.

  • From the minute I started the book I didn’t want to put it down and I can’t say why. There was just something about this book that kept me reading right through to the end of it.

  • Colleen Coble has out done herself with this one. I literally could not put it down. I just had to keep turning pages to see what happened next. I usually don’t mention covers, but this cover is just gorgeous! I loved everything about this book. The characters were so likable and the plot was so exciting. There was also a great Faith element to this book. I have read the first book in the Hope Beach series which was Tidewater Inn, but this one is better. I highly recommend this book. If you are looking for a great book that has a sweet romance, but also leaves you on the edge of your seat, then this is the book for you.

I recieved a complimentary copy of this book for my honet review.

  • Continuing the Hope Island series that she started with Tidewater Inn (which I absolutely adored!). It was interesting to see the characters from that book back and what had happened to them in the intervening time. With the addition of new characters in this book, the Hope Beach area is filling out and as always Cobble gives you enough twists and turns to make this an absolute page turner! I finished it in two sittings ONLY because I had to! Her books always leave you breathless and wanting more, and this book is no exception! It’s a lovely Summer read, full of Summer memories and friendship! Pick it up and you will love the series as much as I do!

  • “Rosemary Cottage” is a thriller in that characters lives are in danger practically from the first page. Curtis’ sister may have been murdered while Amy’s brother may have been murdered as well. Curtis is now looking after his niece which is how he meets Amy. While these two are searching for their answers regarding their siblings romance begins. One step leads to another and for the romance to really take hold their secrets are going to have to be revealed and dealt with. Ms. Coble knows how to write characters that come alive off the page. This is a fast-paced read that will keep you guessing as to what is really going on. I recommend this book highly!

  • I’ve enjoyed Ms Coble’s works. I was drawn in and fell in love with Hope Beach when I read Tidewater Inn. It was good to go back there. I hope she has more action on this island for us. I look forward to another visit to Hope Island.

  • Rosemary Cottage is the second in the Hope Beach series by Colleen Coble and is as equally enjoyable as the first. There are appearances from characters from book one, Tidewater Inn, as well as new faces, many of whom behave appropriately suspiciously. There are several twists and turns, most of which I did not see coming.

  • Stacey Dale says:

Colleen Coble’s “Rosemary Cottage” is a suspenseful trip to Hope Island. Amy Lang has returned to the summer home she loved to solve her brother’s murder. She doesn’t expect to find a niece she didn’t know she had. She also didn’t expect to find love with Curtis, who also happens to be her niece’s uncle. Curtis, raising his niece after his sister’s murder, fears that Amy’s wealthy parents will try to take Raine from his custody. But that becomes the least of their worries when the killer now appears to be after them.

This second book in the series is enjoyable whether you’ve read “Tidewater Inn” or not. Colleen Coble is an exceptional suspense writer. She crafts fleshy characters and smart, sticky situations. She leaves enough clues throughout the narrative to allow us armchair detectives the thrill of figuring out the mystery. I am looking forward to the next offering from one of my favorite authors.

  • This novel surprised me with the depth of the characters, the intricacies of the plot, and the way the author injected her Christian worldview into the story while maintaining the sincerity of the plot (it wasn’t preachy). That’s something you don’t always see in Christian lit, and I really appreciate books like this! Coble is a great story teller.

  • My thoughts:
I have to start out with my usual rave about Colleen. I love her books!! And this book did not disappoint. While like most books there are some things that are predictable there are surprises too. There are many complex characters, and getting them straight took a bit. The love story part of the book is great, but as a suspense lover, the mystery outshone the love story by far. Colleen outdoes herself with her vivid imagery and descriptions. You feel like you are on the Outer Bank visiting these places. A great read. 4.5 stars
This book was provided for review purposes only for the Litfuse Book Tour. No payment was received for this review.

  • This is really a mixed up, twisted up story in every way, and I love the way Colleen keeps the plot so tangled up, keeping readers guessing about what is happening, and who is behind all of the secrets. And the ending, well…..I never, ever would have guessed how everyone would unfold. Thats what makes Ms. Coble the awesome author she is, showing the expert writer she is. You don’t want to miss this second book in The Hope Beach Series, Rosemary’s Cottage. And don’t forget to pick up the first book in the series, Tidewater Inn.

  • I usually prefer historical fiction to contemporary fiction, but when I find a really good contemporary fiction, I am so glad I gave it a try! This happened with Rosemary Cottage!

I love the mix of romance, suspense, mystery, and even murder, that happens throughout the book. The ending is definitely NOT what I expected or predicted and I actually loved to read a book that didn’t have a predictable ending!

  • I have an ever expanding “favorites” list when it comes to author’s and books. Colleen Coble and Rosemary Cottage has just landed a place very near the top of that list! Coble’s book has absolutely everything in it that I love: suspense and mystery, well thought out characters, plot twists that keep you on the edge of your seat, faith and romance. Coble also does an excellent job of placing you in the story and it’s surroundings with her vibrant descriptions. While a few places in the story were a bit too “neat and tidy”, Coble has written a story that is fast paced and moving emotionally. I’ve made a place on my “keeper” shelf for Rosemary Cottage…now to find room on it for the rest of the Hope Beach novels and anything else Coble pens.

  • A well written mystery, with well developed characters and a pulsing plot that intertwines to weave a riveting tale. There was definitely a lot going on! And the mystery kept me guessing, with some wild turns along the way!

This book works great as a stand alone, but I also loved how it let me catch up with the characters from the previous book, and know that they were doing well.

  • Rosemary Cottage is one of those stories that pulls you right in to the lives of the characters. It opens with a murder and continues on with mystery, car bombing, suspense, romance and even some new births! I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I am sure you will too.

  • A sweet cottage at the beach, doesn’t the book cover look serene? Don’t let it fool you, this book is anything but serene!

  • This book had it all , romance, suspense and thrills.
I would highly recommend this book if you like any of the elements I mentioned above or if you just like well told stories.

  • There was so much chemistry between Amy and Curtis as well. It seemed that every time they talked, they alternated between intense attraction and heated arguments. My enjoyment of the novel was probably enhanced a little as I read about half of it during a power outage due to a thunderstorm. Nothing makes a suspense novel more suspenseful than reading it in a dark room, by flashlight, with a storm raging outside. Feel free to re-create this scenario when you read Rosemary Cottage! 🙂

  • I was really impressed with this book. I will admit that going into this book, I was a little bit reluctant because I had read one other book of Colleen Coble’s and I remember telling my friend shortly after that it was slightly lacking. But Rosemary Cottage has made me a fan. I will definitely be checking out some of Coble’s books on my next library trip. There wasn’t too much romance, which, for me is a plus. I feel that if you need to include a bunch of ooey-gooey stuff to draw in a reader than you have a problem anyways. This books was suspenseful, intriguing, sweet, and totally unexpected. You never knew what was going to happen next, and every problem had a very unique answer. I don’t want to spoil it for those of you who have yet to read this little gem, but I have to tell you how much I loved the conclusion. This book ended with some major action, and what happened was so unexpected that even Adrian Monk couldn’t have seen it coming. It was fantastic. If you are looking for something to read this weekend, this is the book you need to get your hands on. Like me, you probably won’t be able to put it down.

  • I am a long-time fan of Colleen Coble’s books so I was excited to have the chance to read and review her latest, “Rosemary Cottage”. Just as expected, I was quickly pulled into the lives of the residents of Hope Beach. It was fun to revisit several characters I met in “Tidewater Inn” and to meet new ones as well. In my opinion, Colleen Coble is an expert when it comes to writing a romantic suspense that will keep me turning the pages and hating to put the book down while I attend to the required tasks of daily life. I confess that some of those tasks may have been neglected while I was immersed in “Rosemary Cottage”.

  • Amanda says:

This was a good book that I would recommend to lover’s of Christian fiction. This book isn’t overtly Christian, and some non-Christian fiction readers would find it enjoyable as well.

  • Rosemary Cottage kept my attention, and I did like a lot about it. I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Coble doesn’t take the warm and fuzzy easy way out for either herself or her characters; she takes the story where it needs to go.

  • There’s a reason why Colleen Coble sits towards the top of my favorite author’s list, and this book is it! Rosemary Cottage (second in the Hope Beach series) is classic Coble, and my favorite of hers in years. This book–I could not tear myself away from. I had to change plans for today so I could finish this book. It was that good. I was glued to it from start to finish. I could feel my pulse quicken during certain scenes.

Suspense, romance, murder, kidnapping, reconciliation, this one has it all. It was exactly what I needed to escape with after a hectic week.

If you’re looking for a mystery that won’t scare the socks off of you, this is it. Excellent, excellent work!

  • One thing I most appreciate about Colleen Coble’s books is that her characters come to life on the written page. From the first page I was drawn into the story of Rosemary Cottage and I grew to love Amy and Curtis.

The twists and turns in this wonderfully crafted suspense novel had me guessing until the very end. Masterful work!

  • Crazed Mind says:

This last book that I dug into was worthy of the time and effort. Rosemary Cottage by Colleen Coble was better than just a romance, deeper than just a mystery and had all the twist and turns of the water jetting around me in the hot tub. Needless to say I was pretty well water logged by the time I dragged myself out of the tub and put the book up. Thankfully Rosemary Cottage was so integrating that I never noticed the passage of time. Thanks ever so to Litfuse for including me in the blog tour. This is one that I can’t wait to share with Granny M. She will be curled up on the front porch with it next week, I promise!

  • Combine midwifery, The Outer Banks, and a darling cottage; dream novel! Such a beautiful combination of scenery and characters. I loved this book! Colleen Coble is one of my very favorite authors and she continues to bring fresh ideas and story lines that keep you guessing and keep you falling in love with her characters! I highly recommend this novel along with her first in the series, Tidewater Inn.

  • I love that this one picked up right where Tidewater Inn left off and offered a different look into the residents of Hope Island. I found myself wishing I was sitting on the porch overlooking the ocean while reading this one and could even smell the salty air. This was a wonderful mix of both suspense and romance coupled together that you were fighting along with Amy and Curtis to resolve their pasts and move forward in their relationship with one another. I love that feeling of electricity that happens between characters that are destined to be together but fight the attraction even though it’s a losing battle no matter what the odds are. This one wins a 4.5 out of 5 stars for me and I can’t wait for the next novel in this series.

  • I enjoyed this book because the characters really are flawed. Amy Lang worships the memory of her now-deceased older brother, however at each turn Amy is forced to see her brother for who he really was, even if the new revelations are very bad. It was also refreshing to read about hunky Coast Guard guy Curtis who is honorable to step up to the plate when his infant niece is orphaned, however holds the paternity information from Amy out of fear.

  • Between the suspense of Amy and Curtis searching to find out what really happened to Ben (Amy’s brother) and Gina (Curtis’s sister) and the drama surrounding Gina’s daughter Raine the story just seemed to get better and better as I read on. It seems as though the more Amy and Curtis worked to find the truth the more questions that were brought up concerning both Ben and Gina and their respective pasts. I can’t wait to see who we get to meet in Book Three of the Hope Beach Series!

  • The cover of Rosemary Cottage immediately captured my attention with its gorgeous summery sunset hues, the beach house and the woman walking up the path. The author captured my attention in the opening scene of the book (it’s an intense scene) and I could not stop reading!

  • Colleen Coble’s latest release Rosemary Cottage is a sweet page-turner, full of twists and turns. For years I’ve seen Colleen Coble’s name top best seller lists and yet I was never drawn to any of her titles. It just seemed that her genres and my own interests would never meet. After all, many of her books are labeled “romantic suspense”, a genre I wasn’t really drawn to.

But something about the title and cover of this latest book drew me in. And I’m glad it did! Page by page, I was drawn into Amy’s story. Well written and crafted, I greatly enjoyed Rosemary Cottage. Amy’s commitment to find the truth and honor the memory of her brother is believable and heartfelt.

  • Rosemary Cottage is a wonderful suspense novel filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end of the book! Highly recommended!

  • Do you know what I loved about this book? Besides the entertaining story? I loved the fact that Amy Lange was a midwife and into health foods and such. It’s not a common thing these days to read about a character who holds to health and natural ideas. She was also into herbal treatments and I thought this a very nice refreshing touch.

I’ve read most, if not all, of Colleen Coble’s books and this one ranked near the top. It seemed a deeper story than some of the others. It’s the second in the series and I’m fairly certain that I haven’t read the first book, but that certainly didn’t detract from the story. It’s safe to say, that this one can stand on its own. This story has the perfect amount of suspense and romance.

  • I absolutely loved this story! Colleen weaves a good plot and characters that are realistic. The suspense will leave you on the edge of your seat and have you guessing at the bad guy. Totally cannot wait for the next book in the series!!

  • Overall, Rosemary Cottage was an enjoyable summer read. I need to catch up on some sleep before reading the next Colleen Coble novel because I know I won’t be able to put it down!

  • I wanted to read Rosemary Cottage by Colleen Coble because I read another one of her books, Tidewater Inn, last year and I enjoyed it. When I started this book I realized that it is the second book in the series and actually includes some of the same characters that appeared in Tidewater Inn, so that made it even more fun for me to read! I like it when authors give us a glimpse into how their previous characters are doing, and this book did that.

Amy is convinced that her brother’s death was not an accident, and she’s going to prove it. She heads to Rosemary Cottage, their childhood vacation home, and the place he was staying when he died. . .

Note: I received this book for free in exchange for this review. This is my honest opinion.

  • The beginning was a little slow, but like other Colleen Coble books that quickly changed and had me flipping pages, even after I should have been in bed. I really enjoyed the web of mystery and romance.

  • This is actually book two in a series – again, I had no idea – I have to be careful and read that fine print. haha Suffice to say, there was enough mystery, and suspense to keep me interested and this was not, in my opinion, one of those books you just cannot get if you didn’t read book one. It was a sweet and sad story line. A few times I was surprised by the path the story took (but in a good way of course!) The characters were real, like friends, by the end. You really felt their struggles; prayed for them to be able to heal and begin anew. Their pain and their sorrow were written in a way that made it so sincere.

Its always a good read when in the end, you are saying good-bye, as to a good friend. I did truly enjoy this book. Surprisingly. Twists and turns are always fun!

  • I was amazed to discover that I had read the first book in this series and rated it five stars. I began to recall some of the events as I read through this follow-up book, but I just did not find the first book in the series memorable. And after reading last year’s review, I discovered that as nice a story as this book is, it falls short of the other’s book success.

Don’t get me wrong. The second half of this book is action-packed and chock full of mystery and intrigue. There is no profanity and no sex scenes. Christian principles are emphasized, and it is clear that the primary characters are true Christians. The characterizations are well-orchestrated, and I felt somewhat connected with several of them. The mystery writing is pretty exceptional, and although the end is basically assured, the ride is pretty rocky at times.

  • This is a nail biting, chills running up your spine, suspenseful story. Your brain will be working overtime to find the secrets that will solve THE mystery. Aside from all the suspense is an on and off romance between Amy and Ben, with little Raine in the middle.

I get really into the books I’m reading and forget sometimes that the characters can’t hear me giving them some well needed advice.

This author never seems to let me down when I read one of her books and I have read several of them. All winners, in my opinion.

  • I found the story enjoyable, the romance was interesting but the mystery behind the murder wasn’t quite as believable. At least not at first….

It’s not a “fast” moving story but very interesting and it will keep you wondering till the end.

I found the story a little slow but once I got about 2/3’s of the way into the book the author really pushed the intrigue and mystery up a few notches. The ending totally surprised me and I loved how the romance ended. If you need a rainy day or book to read in front of the fire in the winter this little book will keep you busy for a few hours. Add it to your kindle to read when you have a spare moment or two to read.

  • Although we do meet the same people, the story is not a continuation. Colleen weaves a sweet romance in with dramatic suspense in her talented writing, and once started, this book is difficult to leave.
As in any small town, but perhaps more so in a rather isolated town, everyone knows each other, or thinks they do, and what they do not know, they assume. And often, rumors become what we take as reality because we have heard them so frequently.

  • I love books that keep me guessing the whole time — and Collene’s new book will do just that. She’s very good at putting together a mystery and trickling clues throughout until everything comes together in the end.

I especially liked the whole example of real life struggles in walking out the example of Christ in crisis situations. That is important to me in a book choice. I like to see how Christ is portrayed and how each of the characters respond.

This was a great book and I cannot wait for the next installment.

  • The setting for the book is a made up location on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, called Hope Beach. Rosemary Cottage was wonderful. Rosemary Cottage is the second in a series. Tidewater Inn is the first one. The books can be read as stand alones. This story contains a mixture of mystery, suspense, and romance. Some of the characters in TIDEWATER are in this book also. It is a mystery with a little romance slipped in. The book kept me in suspense even though I thought I had some of it figured out. Amy Lange had returned to come to terms with the death of her brother. Curtis Ireland is still mourning the death of his sister. The two get together to try to figure out what happened and the webs the author weaves keep pushing them apart. The book was a page turner. You turn the page thinking you know what is going on and you find out you were WRONG. Sign of a good book to me. One that keeps you on your toes trying to figure it out. That keeps the pages turning. This book definitely wasn’t boring It never hurts to put in a little romance. This book has both, mystery and romance. The author didn’t fail to give the reader what is needed to hold your interest. At least it did mine. If you are interested in a Mystery Romance,
try this book. It will keep you guessing and turning those pages to the end. When you’re finished, Ms. Coble has many more great books out there.

  • The book is very intriguing with all the mystery and secrets surrounding Amy and Curtis. Colleen Coble writes the story to keep the reader so focused and wanting to keep reading to see what happens next. I was fascinated by the many twists and turns in the book, so many unexpected outcomes. I LOVE how Colleen Coble has written RoseMary Cottage in the style of Romance, yet Mystery and Suspense. The combination of the 2 genres are really spectular.

  • Aside from being a great novel written in Colleen’s unique style, this novel has deeper levels. How well do I really know my family? Amy thought she knew Ben, but did she? Curtis felt the secrets he was keeping was honoring his sister, but do we keep secrets because we are trying to shield ourselves? How far would we go to get something we want? Definitely a novel suspense readers will enjoy.

  • Rosemary Cottage by Colleen Coble was the second novel in the Hope Beach series. The plot line of the novel was interesting and contained elements of mystery, romance, and suspense. There were many twists in the story that I did not expect, and I was tied to the novel the whole time. The characters were fairly well developed and realistic and encountered unexpected circumstances and situations that helped them grow in their strengths and their weaknesses as they overcame them. I liked both Gina and Curtis, and I thought that they worked well together as they began to trust God again as well as one another as they sought to find the truth. Overall, I enjoyed this novel, and I look forward to reading Seagrass Pier next!
