I enjoyed this installment of this adventure! A lot happened in this episode, and I really thought the action was well-developed. Sarah was certainly put through the wringer, and it was a good opportunity for the men (yes, plural!) in her life to rise to the occasion and finally figure out their true feelings for her. It was neat to see different friendships emerge through these crises as well.

  • I enjoyed this exciting story where we finally see an answer to what will happen between Rand and Sarah! I liked all of the action and how the diabolical plan against Rand and Sarah played out. It was interesting to see more interaction between Sarah and the Native Americans.

This is book 3 in this series by Colleen Coble. I have been enjoy reading the books they are very short and fast to read ~ which I like. This book I found had a lot of danger and suspense in it. Rand and Sarah are trying to be friends even though there is more there, but others are trying to keep them apart. The story kept me guessing to the end what would happen next. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

A Heart’s Danger is the next novella in A Journey of the Heart by Colleen Coble and it’s definitely a really good one. This series has been a lot of fun to read, one book comes each month starting in March and it’s been great. I am not a fan of the novella but this series has changed my mind about them! This is the first set of novella’s I have been able to get into, I was hesitant about reading them but I am glad I tried something new! A Heart’s Danger has a lot of action and danger throughout the story! It definitely kept me on my toes and got my heart racing as I read it. Rand and Sarah are faced with more drama as they try to figure out how to be friends. Ben Croftner and now Rand’s fiancee are working together to keep the couple apart but their plans may not go the way they want. I found myself unable to put this one down, kept me guessing until the end. As I read I feel like I am there watching the events unfold in this great story! I can’t wait to read the next book, A Heart’s Betrayal! I highly recommend this series of books to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Fiction, I also recommend starting from the first one, you will NOT be disappointed! I cannot wait to read the rest of these books! I give this book 5 STARS.

Continuing the story of A Heart’s Disguise and A Heart’s Obsession, Colleen Coble’s A Heart’s Danger takes quite a few dangerous turns, as the title suggests. I wasn’t disappointed in this third book of the series. Sarah faced the difficulties of life with courage and faith. It was a lively story that moved quickly. This is an era I knew so little about, and I am eager to learn more as I continue to read the remaining installments of Journey of the Heart. For those who enjoy fiction that includes romance and a faith perspective I highly recommend A Heart’s Danger.

Winter is setting in. Supplies are short and the Indians are being stirred up for lots of reasons. Tensions are running high. If you haven’t read books one and two then you have missed a lot of story but you can catch up by reading them later. Ben still wants to marry Sarah and destroy Rand and he almost makes it. There is a whole lot going on in the ninety-six pages of story that you are going to want to read for yourself. Sarah and Rand are such wonderful characters and we get so emotionally involved with them it seems as though we have been friends with them forever. This is a fast-paced read filled with excitement, danger and romance. I recommend this book highly!

This is book three to the ongoing Journey of the Heart novella series by Colleen Coble, and I have to admit that I am beginning to grow weary of the storyline despite the fact that each novella is roughly 100 pages. If I were reading this story in one sitting, like in one book, I might be enjoying it more. But because each “episode” is a month apart (in the tour) I am really ready for the story to come to an end. However, despite this, I really enjoy Colleen’s writing style and her characters are incredibly well made to be in a novella. The only advice that I would give to the reader/buyer is to get the whole series at once so that you will not grow weary of the story, because it really is engaging and worth your time!

Book 3 has plenty of action as Sarah gets kidnapped, the soldiers deal with Indian wars, and Ben comes to an untimely end. I enjoy reading novellas occasionally because it gives me a chance to take a mini reading breaks. Each book does stand alone but they also end with me wanting to jump into the next one so I can see what ordeals they are going to have to endure next.

I was very happy to receive a copy of this book! This is the third book in the Journey of the Heart series, or better yet it’s a novella. It, like the first two, is a fast read and an enjoyable read.

The story picks up with the same characters form the first two books and continues with their story. It is full of adventure with war, kidnapping, murder and of course love. Poor Sarah has to decide what she wants to do. Rand is now engaged, but not married and Ben is there on the side line possibly ready to make Sarah his wife.

There is a ton of historic detail that helps you envision the kind of life they are living out on the frontier in the 1860’s. You can almost see the fort and the homes they have. it’s full of vivid details that help you enjoy the story even more.

Colleen never keeps her readers waiting too long since the pace of the book is steady and exciting. Believe me, you will be wanting to know who did what, why and will they ever all the way through. Oh, but you will get some answers. I don’t want to give it all away!

This is a wonderful addition to the whole series and I highly recommend it to you!

Sarah continues to have problems with her ex-fiance Ben and with the jealous fiancee of Rand. Since it’s a small town this creates some serious problems like kidnapping and attempted murder. Dangerous tensions arise with the Sioux Indians in that area and winter starts to set in at Fort Laramie.

I can’t wait to keep reading book 5 and 6 to find out the end of Sarah’s story! Will she and Rand ever get their happily ever after?

This is the 3rd book the series and it is a very short and easy read,it took me no time at all to get through this book. It is filled with plenty of drama and by this book for me anyways it is getting a bit old. Rand is not my favorite character as his character is kind of weak and he isn’t much of a hero. By the time I got to this book I just felt like what else could go wrong? If you are into that sort of thing then this book is for you. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

In A Heart’s Danger, there are many elements of danger, both with rising tensions with the Sioux Indians, and with Ben Croftner and Jessica’s plan to keep Rand and Sarah apart. This book was exciting from start to finish, and throughout it I was hoping true love would prevail and Rand and Sarah would be together again. Author Colleen Coble writes in a way that you feel you are right there with the characters, watching the story unfold!

Like the others in this series, A Heart’s Danger by Colleen Coble is a short book (less than 100 pages) that is quite a fast read. The series by Colleen Coble progresses at an exciting pace, with each book providing a different twist and turn in the romance between Rand and Sarah.

I am enjoying the frontier setting at Fort Laramie. It is challenging to remember each character from book to book as this series should have probably been one long stand-alone novel. It is still not clear why Rand is so intrigued by the vanilla-plain Sarah character, but hopefully more will be revealed in the next three installments of the series. In the “Journey of the Heart” series, Coble has created a rich and intriguing set of Wild West characters that coexist as friends and enemies.

The author has written the books in a way that require reading them from book 1 and in order. Even though they could be read as a standalone, it just would not make a huge impact or a whole lot of sense. As far as the story itself it is ongoing and by books 3 feels a bit dragged on. I can not see much more happening and would not be super excited about reading more.

Life in Indian country in the 1860s is not for the faint of heart. In the 3rd installment in her Journey of The Heart series, Colleen Coble captures the flavor of the West as the characters pursue a new life and love in Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Sarah and Rand are still separated from each other, but their feelings are unchanged. Betrayal, deceit, threat of war and the dangers of the frontier beset the pair as they seek true love. A Heart’s Danger wraps up the two’s story and is sure to please all fans of Coble’s historical romances. Filled with rich historical detail, an enduring love story and dangerous twists and turns, I heartily recommend this novel.

By now I know all the characters pretty well and have grown attached to them. In book 4 we are introduced to a couple of new characters (I’ve already started reading).

The book description sounds good, but the actual book was less good. This was mostly because of the characters. Ben Croftner is basically the archetypical bad guy: evil but with no real motive. Sure, we understand he wants to marry Sarah, but why? What is it about her that he followed her halfway across the country?

This is the third novella in the A Journey of the Heart series, following A Heart’s Disguise and A Heart’s Obsession. It’s better than the previous two, in that at least the plot arc comes to a satisfactory conclusion. However, it does raise the question of what (or who) the final three novellas are going to be about. Hopefully it will include characters who are a little more rounded.

A Heart’s Danger is not my favorite of the series and the only reason I can put my finger on is the fast pace at which this one seemed to move. Colleen Coble definitely filled this one with danger and drama from beginning to end as the title indicates. I’d love to talk about my favorite part of the book but I fear if I do it will give it away so for now let me say that if you’ve read the first two then you’ll like how this one ends on less of a cliffhanger than the previous two.

In A Heart’s Danger, we get a truer look at the inside of Ben Croftner’s twisted mind. It’s almost as if Colleen Coble has painted invisible horns on his head, while attaching white wings to Rand’s back. While it’s clear how Ben and Jessica’s plan would unfold, it still seemed as though the characters were blind to some aspects of Ben’s persona. I wondered if it might be due to the lack of law enforcement in that time and place. The interesting interactions between the white and Indian cultures kept me reading. The last page of this book, though, was the true reward at the end of these three months of reading. Tension is mounting around the fort with the Sioux warriors, as well as inside the fort between Rand, Sarah, and Rand’s fiance Jessica. Colleen Coble’s Journey of the Heart series continues in A Heart’s Danger with more plots and plans, escalating tension with the Sioux, threats and danger from an old enemy, and of course a touch of romance. The story line in the first three volumes of this six book series seems to reach a conclusion in A Heart’s Danger where major revelations and romance are wrapped up nicely by the end.

Thus far I have enjoyed reading these short books that have been revised and re-released from Cobles first two novels. My only complaint is that I have to wait an entire month to read the next installment. I have to confess that I can be a very impatient reader. Nonetheless, these brief novels are a welcome break from some of the longer and more serious novels I have on my review list. It is easy to see Coble’s talent in her early work and how far she has come since then.

After reading the first book in the series, I had a pretty good idea of how the series would play out, but I was completely wrong. A Heart’s Danger finally puts Ben’s revenge plan into play and Rand and Sarah must deal with their true feelings for each other. While the installment is barely under 100 pages, there’s a lot going on here. With three books left in the series, I’m not for sure where the story can go from here. I already have an advanced copy of book four, A Heart’s Betrayal, so I don’t have to wait a few weeks to find out what happens next. My Thoughts On The Book: I love Colleen Coble’s writing style. She has a way of grabbing you and not letting her readers go until the very last sentence of the book. A Heart’s Danger, book three from the Journey of the Heart series is no exception. I could not put it down. There are three more to go in this series and I cannot wait. The characters are easy to love….and hate. Ben Croftner you cannot help but hate. Sarah is my favorite character and she seems to come to life within the words on the page. Colleen takes us on another adventure in this journey of the heart series. I like the sense of danger in this book, it was kind of like you could not read fast enough to see what was going to happen next. As always the characters are very well developed. Sarah is a very strong women in a very wild territory. I am really enjoying the historical aspect of this story and the interaction with the Sioux Tribe. I like that this story is broken into six installments as it makes it fun to look forward to the next one. These books are short and can be read in one sitting. Each installment leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen next. It is important to read these in order. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Things get even more strange as the story continues. Ben and Jessica both want Sarah away from Rand for their own reason. Ben has a little bit of a different plan for his himself.

This was an entertaining read, if a tad cheesy at times. There was enough going on to keep me turning pages, and I finished the slim volume in one sitting. I’m glad things turned out the way they did. However, it was a little bittersweet for me, because I’m not a huge fan of Rand. At all. In fact, I feel like most of the drama and strife Sarah went through was because of Rand. But of course, evil Ben had a hand in it too. He was a little bit over the top evil, and I thought his ending wrapped up a little too quickly and easily. But overall this was a fun way to pass a couple hours. I do like most of the other characters, especially poor Isaac. And I’m interested to see where things go from here.

A Heart’s Danger is a fictional `Journey of the Heart` novel. Book one and two of our monthly series by Colleen Coble are about young love during war time. Book three steps up the action some with a bit of suspense. Although it is a short book, it is very entertaining and is a great mid-series transition.
I would recommend this series to readers of general fiction and historical fiction.

After reading this series so far, I am once more drawn to the life that people faced in the Old West. The uncertainty of life from one day to another would have been overwhelming and never knowing if the man you loved would make it home or not, was something women had to contend with. Besides the effects of the weather, there were risks of growing hostility among the Indians and those living in the Fort. It wasn’t an easy life and one that required a deep sense of faith to make it from one day to the next. This certainly comes across in each of these books from the Journey of The Heart Series.

A Heart’s Danger is book three in the Journey of the Heart series. With three more books ahead, I’m very excited to find out what will happen next. This book has an epic ending that will leave you asking, “Why?” Colleen Coble has an amazing way with words, and I’m expecting her next book to be just as good as this one.

  • The latest installment of Sarah and Rand’s story is filled with several twists and turns! I found the history in the story interesting, since I find the Frontier period of American history fascinating (thank you, Little Hoyse books :-)). I think this is my favorite book out of the three so far! I look forward to reading where the characters go from here.

This is book three in the Journey of the Heart series. It’s really not a stand alone book and you really do need to read book one and two to truly understand the characters and what is going on. The author does an excellent job of catching us up on what’s going on, though.

In this book, it’s getting colder in Wyoming and the Fort is hunkered down and anticipating Christmas. There’s been some sadness as the cold has hit the Sioux camp and Sarah has to say goodbye to two of her friends. She’s still trying to get over Rand, whom she loves but who is engaged to another woman.

There’s a horrible plot that takes place in this book against Rand and Sarah. Who is involved in this plot is shocking and how it’s put into action is also shocking and horrible. We are left wondering if things will truly work out for both of these characters.

I enjoyed this book very much. I liked the action and that we are pulled further into really caring about these characters in this book. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars.

A Heart’s Danger is filled with exactly that — danger. Lots of it in various forms caused by a very diabolical villain. Hostilities between Indian and Whites escalate and there’s enough foreshadowing (or I’m reading between the lines) to leave me with an unsettled feeling of dread as I look ahead to reading the last three installments this summer.

A Heart’s Danger is book three in the Journey of the Heart novella series. These novellas should definitely be read in order. The stories continue from book to book and, once finished, will be a complete tale.

I really enjoyed this installment. There is definitely a lot of action and danger in the story. Much character growth also takes place. I was not at all happy with Rand in book two, but he has definitely redeemed himself in A Heart’s Danger.

Sarah continues to be her caring and kind self. She shows herself to be a strong and smart woman, determined to survive in this savage land, against known and unknown enemies.

I am looking forward to reading book four in the series.

I liked this episode. It has lots of action. The true nature of Ben comes to light as he threatens the lives of Rand and Sarah. Jessica’s true colors come out too. But there are positive scenes in this story as we see a friendship between a Sioux warrior and a soldier. That was heartening. With a satisfactory ending to this episode I’m wondering what will happen in episode four.

This book is an excellent addition to this mini book series. With only 128 pages the story is limited of course but a lot of action happens in this book that I didn’t see coming. The romance I still don’t enjoy but I was surprised how everything played out. I do love the cover of this book and I am anxious to see what the next book looks like. The only I really don’t enjoy is some of the dialogue seems very forced and awkward. There still isn’t a lot of depth and perhaps that’s because the books are all split up, I’m not sure. Either way I still want to read the next book and if you are interested in reading you must start with book one!

I like Sarah a lot more now that she is in Wyoming. Her compassion for the Sioux living near the fort is wonderful, and her determination to move on and make a good life for herself and her brother is certainly commendable.

This is book three in Coble’s first series it took ten years to be published. I have read the first two in the series well let me first say I am a fan of Coble’s with that being said I’m finding that I’m losing interest in the story, there are six books in this series and only one comes out each month they are very short books about 95-100 pages. I don’t like having to wait for the whole story.

If you are super busy and don’t have a lot of time to read this series is perfect for you.

If you like romantic suspense you are sure to enjoy this series by Coble.

I gave this book 4 stars.

I didn’t know tensions could get any higher than they already were in this series… but Colleen is a master at pulling her readers even deeper.

So many things happen in this book, it’s hard to believe it is as short as 112 pages.

I’m certain I’m not the only reader who is more than a little bugged by a certain man’s choices… actually two men if I’m being honest…

This was a satisfying wrap-up of the first two books in this serials and I’ll give this book 4 stars. I liked Sarah’s heart toward the Indians, and Rand’s kindness to a young Indian brave, and I loved the way they repaid this kindness to Rand and Sarah.

We are introduced to the main characters of Rand, Sarah and Ben with both men at bitter odds with each other; Sarah loves only one of them. The series begins with A Heart’s Disguise followed by A Heart’s Obsession and continuing now with book three titled, A Heart’s Danger. While Rand is serving at Fort Laramie and engaged to the commander’s daughter, Sarah in the meantime lives on the grounds and teaches Indian children English.

Ben will stop at nothing to take Sarah away from Rand and force her to marry him now with the aid of Rand’s jealous fiancée. As the story begins to climb in intensity, so too does the courage of Sarah who finds herself at the mercy of Ben’s evil plan. With each addition to the plot via the successive installments, I find myself captured by the hope that true love between Rand and Sarah will win out in the end.

With an Indian war looming closer to becoming a reality, Sarah’s character finds it heart rending as she has befriended many of the Indian children. What a reminder to all of us to look beyond what our physical eyes can see when we look at an individual to the heart within each being. The ending of the book has my mind contemplating the ways in which the author may lead the characters in her plot. There is love in the air and jealously too, which one will win in the end?

Stay tuned for book four, A Heart’s Betrayal, coming this June!
