  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ {LITFUSE REVIEW}

Wow. I know that infertility is still a subject that many authors shy away from. It’s something a lot of people don’t want to talk about but need to. And they need to know they’re not alone. I personally don’t suffer from infertility but have friends who do. I have seen their pain, I have watched them cry. I can’t feel their pain though. I can’t tell you what goes on in their head.

I love this book. It’s the third in the Chicory Inn series and a great read. It tackles some big issues of infertility, adoption(which I do have experience with), and domestic abuse. So many hard topics, but they don’t weigh the book down. It still flows and winds around showing us the truth behind our characters and their decisions.

I have loved visiting the Inn again and delving into new characters.

  • LEARNING TO LOVE

I didn’t get to read this very quickly because there were too many things going on with working and my son’s school and the upcoming holiday but I really enjoyed the time that I set aside to read the book. There was a little bit at the beginning of the book where Danae seemed to be whining about how horrible her life was because she couldn’t have a child but that was quickly over when she decided to turn her life around. She went to volunteer at the women’s shelter and learned how wonderful her life was and how she could help others. It was great to watch how Danae grew and how she became more happy when she was helping others.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

Another Way Home brings us back to catch up with Grant and Audrey from the Chicory Inn Novels, by Deborah Raney.

Misty and her son Austin are in the shelter because she was abused. Her husband is a violent man who attacked her and this is where Misty landed. Danae, in the role of her job takes a vested interest in Misty.

Danae and Dallas soon find that meeting Misty and Austin was God thing and God thins are happening in their life, then only to have it squashed by a relative that comes forward to Misty..
Will Austin’s life stop being so wishy-washy, will Denae and Dallas Brooks have a life that includes children? Will Danae ever stop being jealous of her sisters are having children?
When circumstances give Danae and Dallas everything they have dreamed of they must decide as a family, will love be enough, or will God’s Call be enough. Go check out this part of the Chickory Inn Series to see what happens and if Danae, Dallas and the Whitman Family do over Thanksgiving and the next few months to assure that happiness will be had from all the family.

  • SO REALISTIC

While I wanted to like the characters, I found it difficult to connect with any of them. Danae was tense, whiny, and critical of anyone who dared to have a baby before she did. Throughout the pages, I found myself feeling increasingly angry at one character in particular. Then suddenly, author Deborah Raney brought everything into perspective with a single date — August 11. That little date reined in my resentment toward our justice system, reminded me that God’s timing is perfect, and all was right with the world again.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY WITH #REVIEW

This series by Deborah Raney has been quite a trip. They are gritty and deal with real life issues that come upon us. If you have not read the previous books in the series, I would say do that before picking this one up. It can be very hard to follow the characters lives, even after reading the others in the series.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

My Thoughts On The Book: Another Way Home was an enjoyable book to read. It is a Christian novel, with a bit of domestic violence in it. Deborah Raney is a wonderful wordsmith and Another Way Home was well-written and engaging. I could not put it down once I started reading it. Even though Another Way Home is the third book in a series it can easily be read without having read the other two books. It is a story of how faith and prayer can change lives. I loved the book!

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY

Deborah Raney has written a series that I have thoroughly enjoyed from book 1. I love how the Chicory Inn has remained a center piece through each book, although it changes roles throughout each book. For example, in this book it is mostly featured as the place where the family gets together for Tuesday meals. It is where announcements are made and tears are shed and joys are shared.

Danae and Dallas are the central characters in this book. Their situation is one that so many can relate to so easily. Danae desperately wants to have a child, but she isn’t able to get pregnant month after month. It’s all her heart wants and it’s so hard for her to focus on much else. Add to that having a sister that can have baby after baby whether she wanted to have one or not.

  • FAMILY SAGA WORTH READING

So far, we’ve had just a glimpse of Danae and her husband Dallas’ struggle to conceive a child. Now finally in book three Another Way Home we are getting the full story. Danae does quickly come to realize that she has been laser focused on having a baby and thus decides to volunteer at a local women’s shelter home. This is where she meets Misty, a woman who has finally run from her abusive husband after he hit her son. Through a series of events, Danae and Dallas are soon on the rollercoaster that is adoption, something Dallas experienced as a kid and never wanted to do as a married couple. There are some twists and turns that aren’t completely unexpected if you are familiar with adoption in anyway. However, it is still stressful and heart wrenching to read.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ REVIEW

I enjoyed book #3 of the Chicory Inn Novel series. This book concentrates on the daughter Danae and her husband Dallas. Life doesn’t always seem fair and that’s how it feels to Danae. She longs for a baby. Her sisters both have children, but God doesn’t seem to hear her cries for just one child. But He has heard Danae’s cries and chooses to answer them using unusual circumstances. When Danae lets go and lets God, she receives the answer she’s been longing for. It seems that God does this often, but we must learn to let go first. God’s ways are not always our ways and He sometimes uses tragedy for good.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ {THIRD IN A SERIES BY DEBORAH RANEY}

Another Way Home is my favorite novel in the series!

The emotions shared regarding Danae’s infertility are extremely realistic, as are her husband Dallas’ lack of interest in adopting, the stress put upon a couple who is struggling to have a baby, and the way that family approaches conversations with the couple. Most amazing in the book though, is how Danae puts her hope in Christ–not totally in that He will give her a child, but in the actions she takes as she moves her focus off of herself, looks outward, and begins to help battered women. Danae matures in her faith, matures in serving others, and draws closer to Dallas. As the novel progresses, God brings His plan for Danae and Dallas together in an incredible way that does not disappoint.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY — REVIEW

Danae and Dallas are having trouble trying to get pregnant, which seems more and more prevalent in today’s world. Raney handles the relevant subject with a grace and honesty that is refreshing. Fans of Chicory Inn will be ecstatic to see the rest of the Whitman family is still completely involved in the story. I was so happy to dive into this book and catch up with the characters! This is a story about marriage, infertility, family, and trust in God. I’m looking forward to the next title in the series and luckily a teaser chapter is included at the end of Another Way Home. Close to Home will feature Bree Whitman, Tim’s widow. I can’t wait to find out more about her story! Highly recommended to fans of Inspirational Fiction, Family Fiction, and books featuring an inn!

Who doesn’t want to live where the cover shows? This is the third book in the series and I did not read the other books. I think that it would have helped, but it was not necessary by any means. I might go back to read the previous 2 now that I have read and enjoyed this one. The story line is one that many people can relate to in one way or another. I found it very easy to see myself in the story and it was completely captivating. I wanted to keep reading to see how God would work things out in the story. If you are looking for a great, easy to pick up read I definitely recommend this book.

Deborah Raney’s latest release, Another Way Home, will delight readers with rich and well developed characters and a story that not only inspire its readers but will touch the core of their heart. • MY REVIEW OF THIS READ

This is the third book in the Chicory Inn Series. Come join Dallas and Danae Brooks as they tread the waters of infertility and face the question of adoption.

Danae begins a journey of trying to find purpose in her life when she volunteers through her church at a shelter for battered women through her church. The women that she comes to know through the shelter starts giving her purpose.

Will Dallas still be stubborn or will he bend to the idea of adoption? What will happen to him and Danae?

My feelings about Danae …. yes, she seems a little distant and at times even short with her sisters who do not seem to have any problems conceiving. How would you respond when everyone around you seems to have no problems having children? How do you tread the waters of infertility, adoption and even foster parenting?

Join Danae and Dallas as they find their way in the book Another Way Home.

***This book deals with foster parenting, adoption and includes Domestic Violence too***

  • ANOTHER WONDERFUL INSTALLMENT TO THIS SERIES!

I absolutely love this family. I have read all the books in this series and feel like I know these people. They are so real in their faith and in their lives and you really feel as though you’re reading about real people instead of a novel. You’ll laugh and cry along with them because you’ll grow to love them so much. I just couldn’t put this book down, which is how I felt about all the others I’ve read, too. That’s why I’m going to recommend you read all the books in this series because you’ll love them. I highly recommend this book – the story and the characters will stay with you! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

  • REVIEW + GIVEAWAY: ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

This is a moving story and the whole series has been excellent. It’s a story about family – a big extended, multigenerational family that shares in each other’s joys and heartbreaks. Well written and highly entertaining, this story is also relevant for two reasons…One, because so many people deal with the agonizing disappointment of infertility today, and two, the importance of having an attitude of gratitude in our hearts every single day…I love romance novels as much as anyone, but it’s the stories of a marriage that are my favorite – and Deborah’s Chicory Inn series is a gem. There are some emotional, heart wrenching moments in this story, as well as moments of sublime joy that will thrill readers.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY

Another Way Home is the best book in the Chicory Inn series so far! I love what Raney’s done with the characters. Danae and Dallas are the most realistic characters to date. They’re real and transparent and hurting, yet they’re trying incredibly hard to follow after God. I love that aspect of this story.

Danae’s struggle made Another Way Home real for me. I appreciate the way that she fought selfish desires in her marriage, the way that she tried hard to find the good in days that seemed to have none. Danae hung in there and looked for blessings and changed her outlook, and that’s the kind of character that I want to read about.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY

Maybe it is weird that I like this series since I am a guy, but I do. I have always enjoyed a series that focused on one family as this one does, and they aren’t really what I’d call romance books though they do have romance in them.

This is the third book in the Chicory Inn Series, and is the best so far in my opinion. Another Way Home deals with a couple wanting children and not being able to have any. Danae, the main character, doesn’t just have to deal with wanting children and not being able to have any, but she also has to deal with her sisters having children about every year.

I have to say, Deborah Raney, you had me! By the time I reached the end of this novel I could not see the way you guided the reader through what God’s plans had been all along for the Brooks family. By the time I reached the end, it all made perfect sense and that is the way life is. It may not make sense for us while we are struggling with trials and adversity in our life, until we get much further down the road and can look back and clearly see the fingerprints of God unmistakably on what we just went through without knowing why.

This story mostly follows one of the daughters and her husband-Danae and Dallas. They have tried for years to get pregnant and even after fertility drugs, Danae starts to become hopeless and depressed about not being able to start their family.

She becomes involved in a womens shelter where she starts to feel more at peace with having a purpose and making a difference in people’s lives.

The other siblings and parents from book 1 and 2 are mentioned through out this book, and although it would make sense to read them in order, they can be read as stand alone books.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY

Two Roads Home involved Danae swapping homes with her older sister, and now at the start of Another Way Home she is in this big, beautiful dream home, decorating a nursery, with no real hope of ever being able to fill it. Danae is in full-blown feeling sorry for myself mode, and isn’t a very pleasant person to be around. Like her sisters’ stories, this one has a rather unlikeable person go through some transformations during the events of the book, and end up a much more mature and all-around better person by the end.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ REVIEW

I hate to gush about an author and a series, but this series has been one of my favorites of all time. Deborah Raney has shared the story of the Grant and Audrey’s girls, one by one. This story had me sobbing in places, because I know the pain of infertility. Knowing the joys of adoption I had trouble relating to Dallas’ worries.Their faith wavered and quivered, as many of us find our own faith doing. They kept looking to God for their answers though. A heart tugging story, you won’t put down until you finish the book. After reading the preview, I am looking forward to Bree’s story. I hope we hear how she fell in love with Tim. Another 5 star story from Deborah Raney. This book was provided for review purposes, no payment was received for this review.

  • GOD’S PLAN IS BETTER

I could feel some of the pain of Danae’s character in this story; how it seemed to her like she was being punished because of so many women around her being blessed with children. I loved seeing God’s special plan for her and her husband though when she started caring for people going through hard circumstances, and how he gave them both a heart for his plan. I love how Danae’s family was very supportive of this plan also, it’s like in this story that God gave them a heart for it too since it affected them also. This story helped me to want to not dwell so much about circumstances or about what other people have that I don’t.

This series is good about helping people to understand better that there are different ways home. I have enjoyed all three books in the series so far!

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ | DEBORAH RANEY

Deborah Raney has created a heart-warming, family series in the Chicory Inn series, with Grant and Audrey Whitman, and their adventures with turning their home into a bed and breakfast inn.

I have enjoyed following each story in this series. In this story, Danae and Dallas have been doing all they can to add to their family, but to no avail. It looks like adoption is their only choice . . . so Why won’t Dallas consider adoption?

Of course, I can’t reveal anything about it. I don’t want to spoil the book for you — and I really want you to read it. Matter of fact, read the whole series, please!

The Whitman characters are close to one another and stand with each other through the various seasons of life. I love how the grandparents are there as sounding boards or for counsel and most importantly as prayer warriors for the children’s families. The patriarch, Grant, wants to make sure that the family doesn’t lose its closeness so he has them over every Tuesday night for family nights. Rightly portrayed is how sometimes the families aren’t thrilled about coming over; yet, they learn the cost of coming over and being together is well worth the sacrifice each makes to be there every week.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ DEBORAH RANEY

I have been looking forward to this book for a few months, and it was so good. Danae’s story was one I was hoping we would get soon and I was thrilled that we got to get into her and Dallas’ lives.

Danae and Dallas have been struggling with infertility for years. I struggled with infertility myself for a few years before becoming pregnant with my daughter, so I felt like I can relate with Danae on several levels. The obsession has with getting pregnant, the disappointment in her husband’s actions, and the sadness over her sisters’ kids all hit very close to home.

Danae finally makes the decision to put the baby-making on the back burner for a while and decides to consume herself with volunteering at the domestic violence shelter. This story gets SO good and

  • ANOTHER MOVING FAMILY STORY

Even though I have a family that is nothing like the Whitmans, I find the situations Raney writes about to be realistic and moving. If you’re concerned that a series featuring a family will be “too perfect” then think again. The Whitman family has issues, and they care about each other. I love the interactions between siblings and couples and the descriptions of the chaotic family gatherings when grandchildren are running around and playing.

It takes me home to my own family’s gatherings.

And each book’s end makes me look forward to the next in the series.

  • A GOOD ADDITION TO THIS SERIES

This series has been a nice series to read and this addtion did not disappoint me. I think the author does a good job with her writing and makes you feel a part of the story. She also does a good job developing her characters. They feel so real. It was nice to revisit this family and to hear the story of yet another member. I have really enjoyed how close this family is and all that they do together. This book was an emotional book so be sure to have your tissues handy while reading it. I will be looking forward to the next book in this series.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

Another Way Home is another dramatic story in the Chicory Inn series! Deborah Raney brings the members of the Whitman clan to life, and I really enjoy the love and camaraderie they share. This emotional story tugged at my heartstrings and left me eager for the next visit with the Whitman family!

  • GREAT STORY

Another Way Home by Deborah Raney is the third book in the Chicory Inn series and I loved it as much as did the other two books. I was so excited to receive this book because I love the characters in this book and I want to catch up with them all and to get to know Danae and her husband Dallas better. I have to say that this book is my favorite by far.

  • TOUCHING AND EMOTIONAL

Often a tearjerker, Another Way Home will nevertheless also evoke plenty of smiles and chuckles as you read. Deborah Raney beautifully and tenderly depicts the authentic, raw emotion of infertility and adoption as well as their unpredictability. Highly recommended for anyone who knows someone struggling with either battle – it may provide some helpful insight!

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

…In her heartwarming style, Raney creates believable characters in Danae and Dallas and depicts the very different ways they react to their struggle, as well as the impact it has on their marriage and relationships with other family members, particularly between Danae’s interactions with her sisters…. Deb Raney’s books have a way of wrapping themselves around my heart, and I couldn’t put it down until I reached the final page….

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’: BOOK REVIEW

Another fantastic book by Deborah Raney. Book 3 had lots of unexpected twists and turns, but for the better. This book meant a lot to me as I can relate with Danae and it gave me huge hope for the future. I cannot wait for book four! Misty was totally unexpected for me, but I loved her! Great book! Can’t wait for more to come about in this series!!

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY #BOOKREVIEW

I am so happy the third book in the Chicory Inn series has come out! In this one, Danae has been trying desperately for years to start a family, the stress of constantly being disappointed in her inability to conceive starts to cause tension between her and her sisters since they don’t seem to have a problem conceiving childen. Dallas needed to let go of some pain from his past in order for God’s perfect plan to take place. This is a great example of what happens when you let go and let God.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

Another Way Home is the third book in the ongoing Chicory Inn family saga. Readers will want to read this book in order as the series really doesn’t stand alone. I am looking forward to the fourth book in this series coming in 2016.

I didn’t think at first I cared for Danae. She is whiny, crying all the time, and her husband is almost ready to flee for the hills. I understand why she is that way, I’m sure any woman who doesn’t have a family and so desperately wants one would be the same. (I was blessed with children) But then she listened to Dallas, found a job to take her mind off it (even if the job wasn’t one he exactly approved of, but God was in it.) A beautiful, heartwarming tale of family, of sisters, of husband and wife relationship, and of God’s hand working quietly behind..

  • FALL READS: ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

I don’t recall reading the first book in there series, Home to Chicory Lane, but I did read the sequel, Two Roads Home, during the summer. While this book could be read as a stand-alone story, I do recommend reading the first two books as the plot centers around recurring characters. Typically, a Christian fiction is set around two characters that have never met each other and when they do, they fall in love. Here the main characters are already married, but their marriage and faith is being tested by the fact that they are having problems starting a family. Overall, Another Way Home is a fast-paced novel that I read in one sitting. The author did a marvelous job crafting a wonderful plot with likeable characters.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

One thing I like about Deborah Raney’s books is the way she paints her characters with such a realistic brush. None of those “too perfect for words” characters in her books but with imperfect people there is always room for growth.

The third book in the Chicory Inn series, Another Way Home features daughter Danae who is past ready to start a family. To tell the truth, Danae is not a very likable person in the beginning. She is so obsessed with getting pregnant that her entire family feels that they have to walk on eggshells around her and even her marriage is beginning to feel the effects. The turning point finally arrives when Danae receives some good advice and decides to occupy her mind and time with something productive. Although her new volunteer position is not at all what she expected, she learns that she just may have a gift for what she is doing. Never did she expect it to change her life so drastically.

  • DEBORAH RANEY’S CHICORY INN SERIES CONTINUES WITH ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

Deborah Raney welcomes readers back to the Whitman home for Thanksgiving in the 3rd book of her wonderful Chicory Inn series. The story focuses on middle daughter, Danae, and husband, Dallas Brooks, who have been trying for years to grow their family, but have yet to be able to have a baby.

At the prompting of an inspiring church message, Danae decides to begin volunteering at a newly opened shelter for abused women and children. She has no idea how this one small step of faith will completely transform her life’s journey.

If you’re ready to kick back and read a novel that will help you face trials with an even deeper faith, I heartily recommend this series for you. I love all of Deborah Raney’s books because they’re clean — no disgusting language or vile images. They’re uplifting!

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ REVIEW

I love this series. I love the writing style of Raney and I love these characters. They have these struggles that are so real and common. Their speech is much like a real conversation. I just love the way they interact with each other, whether it’s an argument or a family dinner night. In this novel, Danae and Dallas are really struggling because they’ve been trying to get pregnant for years, and it’s just not happening. Dallas won’t even consider adoption due to his past, but Danae is feeling the emotional turmoil of infertility. They get thrown into an unexpected babysitting experience that turns into an odd type of foster care, which makes Dallas begin to rethink his stance on adoption.

My favorite thing about this book was at the end, when I saw the series will continue.

We’re going back to Chicory Inn where another daughter of Grant and Audrey is having problems. She really wants a baby, but has nearly given up after of trying. She tried talking adoption, but her husband wouldn’t even consider that possibility.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY BLOG TOUR, BOOK REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

Author Deborah Raney has given us a beautiful story called Another Way Home. Danae is watching her family all having children and she and her husband have not been able to get pregnant. Her husband will not even try to talk to her about other ways they can start a family of their own. After years of trying Danae concentrates on volunteering at a shelter for women. While she is there she gets totally involved with helping them. This story will make you laugh, cry and smile all at the same time. I wish I could give this more than a 5/5.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ REVIEW

What makes this book so touching, for me, is that it hits close to my heart. I have suffered from infertility for years and years. It took 4 1/2 years of praying and trying to conceive my son. I’ve suffered infertility and loss ever since. To see God work in such amazing ways in the book….I just think it will bring a peace to your heart like it did mine. There are twists and turns that keep twisting and turning until the very end, and then suddenly it all makes perfect, beautiful sense.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ BY DEBORAH RANEY

Deborah does a wonderful job at tackling tough issues in her Chicory Inn series! Another Way Home is no different in that area, as it deals with infertility and the struggles that Danae is having with being unable to conceive a child of their own while her sisters have experienced unexpected pregnancies. The story is a beautiful one that does a wonderful job of giving hope to a sad situation. I love that the way it works out is not trite. (I don’t want to say to much and give the story away!) I highly recommend this story and found that this book may be my favorite yet!

  • THANKSGIVING WEEKEND COULD BE DISASTROUS FOR THE WHITMAN CLAN IN @AUTHORDEBRANEY’S NEW BOOK!

What I love about this series is that the characters are so real. Seriously, this could be your family or mine, individuals trying to live a life pleasing to God while finding peace and happiness. However, unexpected things arise such as job struggles, infertility, health issues and other numerous problems. This story hit closer to home for me as my job is similar to the work that Danae was doing and unfortunately there are so many women and children living in difficult situations and it can be heart-wrenching.

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’ ~ DEBORAH RANEY

This is book 3 in the Chicory Inn series. The story in this book gives you a lesson of just how GOD works for the good in your life. During reading this book it will twist and turn right to the very end and then it all makes sense. In this book we are told of the story of Dallas and Daene and how much they have been trying to have a child. Along with the everyday challenges of a few others in their lives.

I would recommend this to those that have been reading this series, as it is just as good as the others 2 in the series. This is a good continue book, but can be read as a stand alone. It does have Group discussion questions in the end, for those in book groups or small study groups. It also contains a few chapters for the next book in the series…. I can’t wait…..

  • ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’

Raney has out done herself on this one. This is the third book in the Chicory Inn series and in my opinion this is the best one yet, this is the story of Danae and Dallas. It’s one that you will not soon forget and you will see God on every page. I just LOVE the closeness of this entire family. They get together every Tuesday and have dinner.

Let me tell you when you read the ending of this book you will see where she was going with this emotional book. It all pans out and you just melt.

It all comes together like the Lord would want it to.

This being the third book in the series the characters are so well developed and I can’t wait to see what happens in book number four Close to Home, it comes out next year.

I gave this book 5 stars two times. I highly recommend this whole series.
