This book was refreshing and insightful! A delightful little book for animal lovers as it looks at the life of Christ through the eyes of animals. The writing was very engaging, and I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. The story moved quickly, and I can really imagine this appealing to younger children as it is told in vivid detail.

This book is a wonderfully woven story from a different perspective. This story follows a dog named Eden around and through his eyes we see the Gospels from the Bible emerge, but slightly different as the viewpoint is from animals. Keith writes with profoundness and truly captures the approach well. I loved the book, but it does have some Biblical inaccuracies, so just a warning. This unique outlook will open your mind to new aspects of things.

I find myself enjoying reading stories from the perspective of animals and with this one seeing the stories of the Bible unfold through the eyes of a dog, Eden was unique and told in a refreshing way.The illustrations were paired wonderfully with the text which was presented in a way that allow not only the story but the characters to leap from the pages

Eden is a unique book and I loved it. The reader becomes an eyewitness to the life of Jesus, from birth to resurrection, through the lens of the animal kingdom. The story is well written and I was impressed by how seamlessly it flowed. I was also surprised by how completely I was pulled into the narrative. Allegory or parable is a great vehicle for giving fresh approach and insight to something that is very familiar to most of us. I couldn’t help but think of the many Scripture references that talk about all creation giving praise. A touching book for all ages and a great way to share the Gospels with children. I think anyone reading this story to young children would have their undivided attention.

I thought this would be a book I could really get interested in, but even after trying many times to get into the story, reading portions of it to my mister in the car (aloud reading helps), I just couldn’t do it. It was confusing to me.

A very creative and interesting fictional read. As an animal lover, I was fascinated with the animals’ perspective. The story is told by Eden, Jesus’ dog. . . . The tale is imaginative and makes the reader think. . . . This is not a book for a young reader. Although reading as a family unit it could be a great read allowing parents for deeper discussions.

Q: What do you most want readers to take away from Eden: The Animals’ Parable?

Keith: That redemption is within everyone’s grasp. I’m all about second, third and fourth chances.

What a great tool to share with others. As a mom of strong readers, I look forward to sharing this book with my high school age boys to get their take on the book. I hope to share it with friends as well – it is a great tool to start a discussion about the Gospel message with others who make not be believers. Great book even for believers to just tell the message from a new perspective.

This was a book that really spoke to my heart. I love the entire feel of it. The writing was beautiful and the storytelling was top notch.

The old folktale feeling of this book is what sold me. It’s incredibly easy to follow along and the entire family can enjoy it. I think this kind of retelling will also open up deeper conversations with young children.

    Highly recommend!

Other than the promising idea, the book fell rather flat for me. The main reason for this was that I didn’t think it was Biblically accurate. The first chapter included the wisemen and portrayed their story with too much of an artistic license for me to be comfortable with for Biblical fiction. Because of that I lost interest in the story, and had a hard time continuing with it.

I believe this book will provide a natural opening for adults to engage children of a variety of ages in discussions about Jesus. It seems it would be particularly effective with unchurched children. Reading this would provide a natural bridge to open a Bible and read the corresponding biblical story. I cannot help but believe God will make this a useful tool in the hands of adults leading children’s ministry. This is a VERY WELL written book that captures the imagination from beginning to end! I am happy to recommend this to everyone!

I really enjoyed this book, especially with the dog Eden, she was kind, sweet, and saw much more than the other animals. The book though took you through stages–Before, During, and Everlasting. Each of these stages gave new stories and added to your reading of the gospels. I found the illustrations to be delightful, simple and raw. These images provided though made in modern time, felt as though we were looking at ancient artifacts on old cloth or stone.

This book is a very interesting look at the Gospels. Not a bird’s eye view, but rather a view from the animals. What if Jesus had a dog who followed Him from the carpenter’s shop to the cross? What might that pet, along with a few other animals, be thinking along the way?
This is a beautiful retelling of the story that changed the world. I have to admit that I shed a few tears towards the end. This book will touch your heart.

The book is meant for more school age to older kids, not mine since the book has more words than pictures. The stories was easy to follow and very entertaining, especially the first story about Old Gray and the Roman legion soldiers.

I really enjoyed this book and the way the author used animals to retell stories from the Bible. It was very easy to read and understand. . . . It makes a great tool to use for discussing what the parables mean from the Bible. As you read to your child what better time then to discuss what the Bible says in parallel to the book. Overall I found the book very well written and definitely one I recommend for all ages.

Eden: The Animals Parable was a delightful book to read. I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I received it. It was a bit slow to start, but once the character Eden the dog was introduced, it all came together for me. I loved reading the gospel through the animals perspectives-although I know it was fiction, it gave me a fresh look at a story I already knew. The illustrations by Lisa Paris were beautiful. I think Eden would be a great book for an older child to read, as well as adults.

The book is written in such a way that it flows nicely and makes the reader seem as if they are right there with Eden and the others. Eden is a great example of unconditional love and devotion to Jesus and also looking at and seeing people for who they really are inside, not just what people see with their eye at first glance. This is an interesting read that will be sure to delight.

I was intrigued by the premise of this book and though it was a bit of a slow read for me, with the shifting characters in the first few chapters, it was fun to see things as someone unfamiliar with the story of Christ would see them.

This would be an enjoyable read for all ages, and I loved the storytelling, and the gentle wending of the story, in keeping with many of the traditions of the times.

I feel so lucky to have had the chance to read this book. Keith Korman writes an allegory of the the Gospels in the Bible. His unique way of writing from the animals stand point is just inspiring. It is a work of fiction but the stories from the Gospels are there and really impacted me.

Sometimes I envy people who were not raised in the church, and who get to experience Jesus, the Bible, and everything else to do with God in a way that we never have, or have forgotten. This book gives an idea of what that may be like. Seeing the story of Jesus through the eyes of animals who have no clue what is going on, or why things happen they way they do gives the reader a refreshing look at the events of the Gospels.

Jesus told parables so that those who heard them could understand him and his father better. In this book we hear from the animals who were around Jesus. This book started out a little slow, yet soon picked up pace, and was very touching.

This is the story of Christ’s life told from the perspective of His dog, Eden. Reading this book has actually added to the dimension of how I see my Savior because I’ve contemplated things I never considered before, like how it would feel to have your fur stroked by the Creator of the Universe.

The plot tells the story from a dog’s point of view. Beginning with Old Glory, then Noah and Sheba, and moving on through the generations. However, it took me about halfway through the book before I could understand the parable. I would not say the book kept me riveted, but it did draw my attention. I recommend this book to fans of parables.

Korman has given us a fictional exploration of some of the events in the gospels as seen through the experience of animals, namely a faithful dog. He adds fictional events and dialog. There is some deviation from the biblical accounts. While they are not earth shaking, I did find them disconcerting.

When I first received this book, I thought it was something completely different. I don’t understand how the first part of the book is a part of the Gospel and felt it could have been left out. The retelling was an interesting but difficult to read and understand during some parts. While, the cover looks kid-friendly, I am not sure if I would share this book with young readers.
