  • A BLOG TOUR AND BOOK REVIEW

When a little book is so full of encouragement and challenge that it makes you read it twice, you know its a keeper. That is just what God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea is. With personal stories from the authors life embedded throughout the book, the reader is challenged to find God in our everyday experiences, good or bad, tough or easy. Each devotional is short and will only take a few moments to read, as well you will find scripture to focus on and even questions to journal out your thoughts on the devotional you read. A perfect gift for any woman in your life.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA #BOOKREVIEW

Need a spiritual pick me up? Need someone to help you get through a hard time?

This book will do that! I received this book during a hard time for me. In fact, it arrived at my house while I was still in the hospital with my youngest when she had encephalitis(for those who don’t know, this can be fatal). I needed this book. I needed this encouragement.

Written in a voice that you find drawing you in, pulling your closer, closer to God and to yourself in finding Him. It will revolutionize your quiet time. You will find yourself without a complete day if you try to shirk that time as well.

I really can’t describe how wonderful this book is. You just need to go find yourself a copy and experience it for yourself.

  • UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE!

This devotional contains journaling ideas, prayer focus, and challenges. The thing I liked most about this book was the unique perspective RCJ takes with the prayer focus. For example, on one focus day, we prayed for those with brain injuries and disorders. There is nothing off the table in God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea. From gossip to forgiveness, the author tackles those moments of everyday life in which God needs to be a part. This would be a lovely book to start with a prayer partner. Share each chapter over cups of delicious sweet tea, and deepen a relationship while strengthening your others!

This is a devotional book which I really enjoyed reading and looked forward to reading every day. The devotions are short, so some days I had time to do just one, but some days I was able to do multiple pages. Each devotion chapter has scripture to go along with it, and I enjoyed looking up those individual scriptures and focusing on them.

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA BY ROSE CHANDLER JOHNSON

God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea is a refreshing title for Rose Chandler Johnson’s devotional. Just reading the title makes you want to leisurely sip tea and have some quiet time with God. The daily thoughts that Johnson shares with her readers are sweet nuggets from God’s Word; Something you want to enjoy, savor and meditate on throughout your busy day. I liked the way the book is laid out so that you can spend two days on a thought if you wish: one day reading Johnson’s inspirational thought that she shares with her readers and then using second day digging deeper with scriptures she’s shared and journal thoughts to dwell on and write about. Pick up a copy for yourself and find refreshment in time alone with God.

  • AWESOME DEVOTIONAL!!

This was such an awesome devotional!! Rosa did an amazing job adding in little personal stories to go with each lesson. Short and to the point, each day I opened it, I found exactly what I needed for the day. What can I say? It’s a God thing and He certainly has blessed Rosa!

The name is what caught my eye. The moment I read the title on the email from Litfuse, the more I wanted to read it. What a creative name! Add that + the cover and it’s really unique. Plus one more thing. If you read my bio you’d know that 3 years ago, I relocated to the South: From NY to VA. While we are not “sheltered” in Ny to not know what Iced Tea is, there is a HUGE difference between Lemon flavored iced tea and my friend Michael’s favorite sweet tea. HUGE. That’s the difference between knowing God and KNOWING Him. This devotional is a perfect reminder of that!

  • BOOK REVIEW: GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA

Rose Chandler Johnson’s book, God, Me, And Sweet Iced Tea, may be small, but it packs a big punch! I loved the way this devotional guide combines Johnson’s personal experiences and insights with truths from God’s word. Each day, Johnson shares from her heart including a key Scripture verse along with additional verses to explore. She provides prompts for journaling and a simple prayer to get the dialog with God started. I especially like the prayer focus for each day. The unique prayer points got me out of my box and thinking about others and their needs. Perfect for busy women, God, Me, And Sweet Iced Tea can help you spend some much needed quiet time with God.

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA BY ROSE CHANDLER JOHNSON {A REVIEW}

Rose Chandler Johnson has written a delightful devotional, God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea, Experiencing God in the Midst of Everyday Moments. When it’s hot nothing quite satisfies like a good, cold cup of sweet iced tea. At least if you’re fond of sweet iced tea, and if you’re from the southern part of the United States.

Nothing quite satisfies that thirst on a hot summer’s day. But what if your soul is thirsty for some living water? What do you do then?

Well, when that happens you pick up this enjoyable book, grab your sweet tea (or if you’re anything like me, you’ll choose to make your’s iced coffee) and spend some wondrous moments with your God.

  • UPLIFTING AND ENCOURAGING

The goal of a good devotional should be one that causes you to pause, to reflect, to focus on God and His word. This isn’t to say that many don’t, but when looking for a devotional, one good question to ask oneself is how will this enrich, encourage and challenge me while reading.

God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea does that with a journal like format. Composed of a single chapter, followed by a page with writing prompts, scriptures and even suggested readings from the Bible, the reader is treated with “mini bites” of Rose Johnson personal life experiences and intertwined with a message of hope, encouragement and gentle nudges toward seeking God.

I love this book. The cover is personal and inviting. It’s like a friend at a table saying, relax, breathe and do you need to talk?

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA…REVIEW

This is a gorgeous little devotional. I think my favorite part is in the beginning, where Rose talks of tasting. You will never discover new recipes and new foods if you don’t try them. The same is true with God and his goodness. If you don’t try it, you’ll never discover the wonderful blessings that await you.

This would make a lovely gift. It’s small and easily fits into my purse. The chapters are bite-sized with personal anecdotes and thoughts, suggested scripture reading, journaling, and prayer. All of which will help you draw closer to God and find joy in those every day moments of life.

  • GOD ME AND SWEET TEA

When I received this book from the publisher, I was immediately delighted on account of the qualities of this lovely book! I loved the front- I am a southern and sweet tea fan! This would make a great book to read a chapter each night. These chapters are short but give you a little to think upon while you fall a sleep. I thought the loveliness of the design quite fitting with the treasures contained on the pages within! I fell in love with this read by a southern girl. After each chapter there is a page of questions. I think think this would also make a good book to read over lunch hour while at work. This book are compiled and organized to bring wisdom and peace to the reader. . ! I encourage you to read each chapter carefully and dwell on each portion. Also, don’t skip over the application questions which conclude each devotion. Let the Lord use this book in your life to bring you closer to Him!

From my first look at this delightful little book, I knew that it would be my devotional for the upcoming year. I look forward to learning from these chapters through 2015!
She starts with a single Bible verse to introduce her devotion and ends with suggested scripture readings and thought-provoking journaling questions to keep her readers thinking about the devotion and growing in God’s Word.

Wow~ who could not love a devotional named God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea? The title just screams southern hospitality and charm and this author does not disappoint.

Each devotion is full of sound Godly advice steeped in everyday occurrences that we all face each and every day. It truly is all about experiencing God in the everyday moments. After all ~ that is what walking with God looks like. At the end of each devotion is a list of additional scriptures to read along with journal questions.

Life gets so busy and we find so many things that pull us away from spending time with God. This devotional just calls to me each morning to spend some time connecting with my God. I really enjoyed this devotional and rate it 5 plus stars.

God, Me, And Sweet Iced Tea is like a refreshing sip of peace and tranquility in a sea of the turmoil that one often finds with everyday life. Rose Chandler provides just the right amount of content for her daily readings so that one can read them in just a few minutes but I guarantee you the uplifting messages will resonate with you through out the day. • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA BY ROSE CHANDLER JOHNSON

My review: Rose has woven fifty-three devotions into this little book to help one grow closer to the Lord. She shares what the Lord has been teaching her over a lifetime. The Lord has walked beside Rose through many different roles in her life: marriage, motherhood, teaching, and divorce. Rose shares a scripture and personal story with each new devotion.

Rose writes to one like a trusted friend sharing her life. Each devotion has suggested Bible reading, space for journaling, prayer, prayer focus, and today’s sweet tea moment.

A beautifully written devotion to add to one’s shelf. This book would also make a wonderful gift for a friend or perhaps a Mother’s Day gift.

  • BOOK REVIEW: GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA BY ROSE CHANDLER JOHNSON

Rose Chandler Johnson writes, “your devotional time is a time for intimate conversation, like chatting with a friend as you sip a glass of tea or a cup of coffee.” This is also a perfect description for the book God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea.

This book is a collection of short devotionals. Each devotional is written in a casual and warm tone. Then there are suggested Bible verses to read, followed by journaling considerations, a prayer, Today’s Sweet Tea Moment, and a prayer focus. Although the devotions are short, they are thought provoking.

I really liked this book. The author’s writing is inviting and friendly, like a glass of iced tea and a chat with a friend over a kitchen table. These devotions make great morning reading, and they also provide a nice pick-me-up during the day.

I received God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea: Experiencing God in the Midst of Everyday Moments, in exchange for honest review The book was written by Rose Chandler Johnson.

In the first chapter, the author discusses how we need to taste God to see how good he is. Then, you have suggested readings, such as Psalm 145:7 and Nahum 1:7. You also will answer the questions, followed by prayer, a sweet moment, and a prayer focus.

The book is a good devotional. I love the short format, great for when you have a few minutes of downtime. I did a devotional the other day, while sitting in the WIC office, waiting for an appointment

Other chapters, which I need to focus on is the one about stopping complaining; actions speak louder than words; obedience is better than sacrifice, and a perfect peace.

  • “GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA”

Rose Chandler Johnson’s devotional, God, Me, And Sweet Iced Tea, is a wonderful collection that is inspiring, refreshing and reassuring as each day is a gift, yet it also comes with trying moments as well. I loved the title as it took me back to my days in college in the south where sweet iced tea was the drink of choice. When I opened the book and began to read it I loved the book for what it was: a devotional with journaling questions and plenty of room to write. The chapter titled “be still and know” was one in particular that spoke to me as I find myself constantly caught up in the busyness of life, everyday. I highly recommend this devotional for those whom may need help with seeking God and really experiencing His love and presence in the everyday moments.

  • IT’S LIKE TALKING WITH A FRIEND!

I’m really picky about devotionals, because I feel like they can get a little fluffy. There’s nothing wrong with fluff, but it’s just not my style. What I love so much about God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea is that it feels like a conversation. You feel like you could be sitting on the porch swing chatting about life and Jesus with the author, Rose Chandler Johnson.

I love structure, so I also really enjoy the way that this devotional is laid out.

The biggest thing for me with this devotional is that I was able to relate to it.Sometimes when I read books about big cities or far away places, I really have to use my imagination. I’ve lived in Northeast Tennessee all of my life, so I really relate to the “Southern” element of this book.

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA ~ SUCH A GOOD READ

Sometimes I like to read a nice devotional book as a part of all the reading I do. I also like to have them available for women’s group meetings too. Rose Chandler Johnson wrote God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea and it is a nice devotional book for both those reasons.

Each of the devotionals is short but they are full of impact and insight. Rose has a way of touching the reader like she is a personal friend and they are just sharing conversation and encouragement with each other. I love how she ends each devotion with a prayer to really keep you focused on the main point of the devotional. Rose is very open in her sharing of personal stories and how he life was impacted by specific things.

This is a wonderful book of short devotions that can be expanded with Bible reading and some journaling! I can confidently recommend this to you.

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA BY ROSE CHANDLER JOHNSON – REVIEWED

“I want you to meet my Lord.” (introduction)

Rose Chandler Johnson has a daily, practical, honest relationship with her Heavenly Father. She wants to encourage readers to develop this same intimate relationship in their own lives. Johnson’s devotionals are three pages each (around 56 in the book), and she briefly explores daily topic that range from knowing God’s will, dealing with fear, and walking away from evil to training up children to follow God. (her titles are much cuter and more creative!) She gives journal prompts, prayer focus ideas and Scripture passages to read and consider.

This devotional will be good for believers at any stage of their journey with God from beginners to more mature believers. If you like structure combined with succinctness, this is the devotional for you! Depending upon what you bring to the day, that will determine what you are able to extract for the main focus. This would make a great graduation gift for those leaving high school or college and taking their next step into life.

This devotional has a conversational, intimate feel to it, and you will leave its pages feeling as though you just shared a glass of sweet iced tea with a friend. Refreshed! Encouraged! Filled!

I don’t even know where to begin! The author does an absolutely amazing job at combining Southern wisdom(the best kind!) with those “quiet moments of reflection” the synopsis speaks of. I found myself truly looking deep and really thinking. The devotionals really stayed with me, and I liked that they were short, sweet and to the point. The suggested scripture was spot on and really resonated with me. It was the type of devotional, to me, that sort of sneaks up on you. • GOD, ME AND SWEET TEA: A REVIEW

Bible study can be such a mystery at times. Where do we start and how do we tie it into our everyday lives? I have tried to read through the Bible many times in my life too, but found just reading the Bible difficult. How do we discern and learn from Scripture?

One thing that I have found that helps is to read my Bible in concert with a devotional. A good devotional like Rose Chandler Johnson’s God, Me, And Sweet Iced Tea can provide a framework for your Bible study time. I loved the title. Sweet tea remains my favorite drink of all times. I also love the cozy feeling of this book. It’s like reading a letter from a best friend. I highly recommend this devotional!

  • SWEET MOMENTS WITH GOD!

Sometimes we just miss it! We miss seeing God at work, because we are waiting for the fireworks and forget to listen for that still, small voice. Johnson reminds us to look for the goodness and glory of God in all things.
Johnson’s devotional offers 52 reminders to consciously look for God in the midst of our days. He is there! Each devotional thought offers a thought by Johnson as well as suggested scripture readings, journaling considerations (with lines provided to jot down your own thoughts), a prayer focus and “Today’s Sweet Tea Moment”.
As a good ole Southern girl from Mississippi, I sure do love my sweet tea! I have enjoyed this little book that shares big gospel centered reminders of the beauty of God in the midst of our mundane and how He makes all things sweet.

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICE TEA ~ ROSE CHANDLER JOHNSON

With this devotional Rose has the goal to bring you closer to GOD. The way she has set up this book gives you many choices to accommodate your time and schedule. Each days reading is very short, two to three pages (quickly read) and then she has included a page of journaling questions, suggested readings of the daily verse, prayer, prayer focus and a sweet tea moment (which is her way of summarizing what the verse is all about).

I would recommend this book to those that would like a relaxing, easy read that will start your day out with GOD and his word or you can end your day with GOD and his word. It has many options for your daily life in a relaxing format.

  • REVIEW: GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA

There’s something about this devotional that just clicks with me. These meditative thoughts have blossomed out of Rose’s personal walk over the years, and she writes with honesty from a depth of experience and maturity. This is not a deep book, nor does it need to be. It’s actually a simple book, and therein lies its beauty and effectiveness. As a southern girl myself, I share Rose’s affinity for sweet iced tea and the way she brings it into intimacy with God. This is a wonderful devotional resource that would be appreciated not only by new believers, but seasoned Christians as well.

  • MY THOUGHTS AND VIEWS OF THIS BOOK

I thoroughly enjoyed this devotional. It was light enough especially for busy moms and people who are on the go a lot, but yet it gave you room to read the scriptures and reflect on them throughout the day. It also gave you space to write your thoughts and a question for the day to reflect on in your personal Bible Study time.

  • “GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA”

I wanted to read this book simply because of the title, and then it came! My book came gift wrapped with a hand-written note from Mrs. Johnson. What a joy those touches brought and then I started to read and study. I love that Mrs. Johnson uses different versions of the Bible (labeling each) and is thoughtful with the devotions. They truly are for the everyday moments. I think my favorite is “Reality of the Indwelling Christ.” If you are looking for a new devotional, or simply enjoy reading new ones, this book is for you. It will also make a wonderful gift.

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA BY ROSE CHANDLER JOHNSON

This is a good collection of 52 devotions. I think the strength of this book is the journaling potential. Johnson asks penetrating questions to stimulate readers to think and write. It is a good way to get in the habit of journaling one’s spiritual life. I really like the prayers and suggested prayer topics too.

  • GOD, ME, & SWEET ICED TEA

Deceptively simple, each devotion is like a bible study leading the reader meditate deeper into scripture as well as encouraging the reader to reflect and to journal. This book would make a good outreach to encourage new believers or even those who are not yet Christians, to incorporate Christ and faith into their lives and to readers who need a break from fast paced materialism.

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA

God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea is a book written by Rose Chandler Johnson. The set up of the book is a 1-2 page devotional passage followed by some questions. There is space for you to write in the book. Some other cool features of this book are suggested scriptures to read, prayer focus, and an action step you can take. Each chapter takes about 30 minutes to complete.

My favorite part of the book was the chapter, “He Gives Sleep to His Beloved.” The author talks about how she received comfort from Psalm 4:8. The verse says, “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” I’ve suffered from sleeping problems my whole life so this chapter was a huge blessing to me. I received additional help from looking up all the verses she recommended.

  • GOD, ME, AND SWEET ICED TEA {ROSE CHANDLER JOHNSON}

I love a good devotional, and this book does not disappoint.

In this devotional, Rose Chandler Johnson has taken some of those most comment things that we struggle with every single day, and addressed them with a quick and to the point reminder that God has everything in control. From struggling with forgiveness, to dealing with our fears, we are reminded that we are God’s children and that He is going to take care of us – we just have to trust in Him.

  • GOD, ME AND SWEET ICED TEA {A LITFUSE PUBLICITY GROUP REVIEW}

I found this book to be a quick and helpful devotional to read and work through as I had a few minutes in the morning. Although each written reflection is short (for this wordy girl), they are deeply impacting when paired with the journaling questions and the additional scriptures for further study.

Many of the devotions stayed with me throughout the day and on into my week as I continued to ruminate on them. Lines such as, “Each day is a pure gift of love from God. I can’t make a day. It’s not my day to do with as I please, no matter how smugly I plan it out.” are lines that can even change a life as you reflect on them with the additional scripture, journaling and prayer recommended by Johnson.

  • A NICE DEVOTIONAL

This was a nice devotional book. I read mine from front to back and wrote my answers to the questions on paper so I can go back and read it again. I thought the title was a cute idea. I liked that each of the devotionals were small and not overwhelming. The author’s writing style was very easy to read and understand and she has some thought prevoking questions.
