Meant to Be Mine

Ty Porter has always been irresistible to Celia Park. All through high school–irresistible. When their paths cross again after college–still irresistible. This time, though, Ty seems to feel exactly the same way about Celia. Their whirlwind romance deposits them at a street-corner Las Vegas wedding chapel.

The next morning they wake to a marriage certificate and a dose of cold reality. Celia’s ready to be Ty’s wife, but Ty’s not ready to be her husband. He’s a professional bull rider, he lives on the road, and he’s long planned to settle down with the hometown girl he’s known since childhood.

Five and a half years pass. Celia’s buried her dreams so that she can afford to raise her daughter. Ty’s achieved all of his goals. Or thought he had, until he looks again into the eyes of the woman he couldn’t forget and into the face of the child he never knew he had.

How much will Ty sacrifice to win back Celia’s trust and prove to her that their spontaneous marriage can still become the love of a lifetime?

Ty and Celia seem to be meant to be together. At least Celia thought so when they got married in a Vegas wedding chapet.

The day after Ty lets Celia know he’s neither interested in quitting his life on the road, nor being married to her.

Ty does everything except standing on his head to win Celia over. It appears that nothing’s going to work. Has he lost his chance for forever love?

Thank you, Ms Wade. I’m certainly enjoying your books, and look forward to the next one.

  • REVIEW: MEANT TO BE MINE

I simply loved this story and found it hard to put down. Becky writes romance with warmth and humor, and her engaging writing style drew me in from the first paragraph; in fact, I don’t believe I’ve read an opening scene that captured my emotions so quickly and thoroughly. Ty and Celia are flawed characters – and their growth, both emotionally and spiritually, felt real and are fun to watch. Meant to Be Mine is a story that I highly recommend to romance fans.

  • MEANT TO BE MINE BLOG TOUR WITH #REVIEW

Becky Wade has written a book that deals with several tough subjects. A single mother trying to take care of her daughter and a father who never knew he had a daughter. The realities of marriage and what happens when two people get married when one doesn’t want to man up and take responsibility, etc. I tolerated Ty Porter but he slowly grew on me. Addie is a real sweetheart and so mature for her age. My favorite character would be Danny:) Great guy!

  • SWEET AND CONVICTING NOVEL

Meant to Be Mine by Becky Wade was a sweet novel (the second in the Porter Family series) that underscored the reality of how love can exist even when bad choices and unfortunate situations seek to snuff it out.Overall, I found this novel to have a sweet and interesting plot line, enjoyable characters, difficult situations, and a quick read. I would recommend this novel to any reader looking for interesting and genuine romance novel. I received this novel for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

  • BOOK REVIEW: MEANT TO BE MINE BY BECKY WADE

While I found some of his (Ty Porter the main character) choices and attitudes irritating and frustrating I realized that was an great job done by the writer. It made him more real, because let’s face it, people aren’t perfect. They make dumb choices. They want certain things that aren’t good for them or right for them. People say things that they shouldn’t, maybe because they don’t even realize they don’t mean what they say.

I really enjoyed how Becky took these two main characters who aren’t perfect and found a way for them to be perfect for each other… or did she?

While it might sound critical, I actually appreciated the imperfectness of the characters as it made them more relatable. I found myself wanting to see what happened with this family and I think you might want to too!

Absolutely could not put this book down. After the first couple of chapters I was completely hooked and found myself trying to figure out what would happen next…never in a million years did I see how they would get to the end of the whirlwind romance of Ty Porter and Celia Park. I’ve read all of Becky Wade’s books and I can tell you this– I liked all of them, but this one, Meant to Be Mine, has captured my heart.

  • MEANT TO BE MINE REVIEW

Meant to Be Mine is the second in the Porter family series. I didn’t realize it was part of a series, but to be honest, I didn’t feel like I had to read the first book to know what was going on. I enjoyed Ty and Celia’s story. They got married on a whim in Las Vegas and after their one night together, Ty breaks Celia’s heart. 5 years later, he finds out she had a child that he never knew about. I enjoyed watching these two fall in love with each other.

  • MADE TO BE MINE BY BECKY WADE- THE ONE LOVE STORY YOU NEED TO READ THIS SUMMER!

The sizzle between Ty and Celia is palpable. (Christian women like passion, too!) They challenge each other and it was a pleasure to watch them spar with their words! Becky Wade also delivers amazing supporting characters in her books. That’s one of the many reasons I love her writing. Uncle Danny, precious Addie (you’ll have to read to see who she is. ;) ), Bo, Meg, Donetta and more all round out this love story in the most beautiful way. I would love, love, LOVE to see Made to Be Mine created into a movie. Through Becky Wade’s words I could almost see Celia and Ty. Their story needs to be on the big screen. I’d be first in line to see it, although we know the book is always better. :)

  • BOOK REVIEW: MEANT TO BE MINE

I love a good love story, especially if it’s set in Texas and involves cowboys…haha. Meant to Be Mine delivers on both counts. Celia and Ty’s story was interesting and relatable, Wade tackled the issues you’d actually expect a couple in their situation to be facing. I also really liked the way that religion was woven into the story without it feeling like it was written in just to make sure it was there. It wasn’t right up in your face the whole time, but it didn’t feel contrived either. I’ve read other novels by Becky Wade and enjoyed them as well, she has a style of writing that tells a great story while keeping it fun, entertaining and easy to read. This would be a great book to pick up if you’re looking for something to read by the pool this summer.

  • MEANT TO BE MINE BOOK REVIEW

We all make mistakes when we are young and I know because I made my share and it’s hard sometimes to live down some of them that seem to follow you no matter where you go in your life. A few days left Ty and Celia broken and Ty makes a huge mistake but not the one he thinks he is making but one that will cost him later on.

We never see the future coming and we sometimes aren’t prepared for it but if we truly followed our heart and quit thinking with our minds a lot of times, I think we might end up where we were suppose to be all along. It sure would save a lot of time and pain, but sometimes it’s necessary to grow up and be the good person you need to be to recognize when you have made a mistake and to make it right.

This is a good book showing that example.

I always wonder about those Vegas weddings and this story takes an interesting spin on one.

I do appreciate the way the author draws out the relationships in the story too. Some characters don’t get much development, but not here. The mother’s love that Celia has and the way she is a mother ring true.

Well here is another sweet story from Becky ! High School Heartthrob , Secret Baby plot ! Lots of Love , some suspense and two folks who really wanted each other ! Can they make it work ? Will Celia get the man she has always desired ? Will Ty get the girl of his dreams ? I have to say that I liked this story because it is somewhat a classic type Boy meets girl theme, but it has a lot more then that.

  • MEANT TO BE MINE BY BECKY WADE

Oh my goodness this book was amazing! I had a dopey grin on my face the entire time I was reading it and I hated putting it down!
Ty and Celia were imperfectly perfect and I loved them! I waffled between wanting to smack them upside the head and wanting give them a hug and be their best friend! It was slightly painful to watch them try to convince themselves that they didn’t belong together, but it was was also slightly amusing! I loved getting to know Ty better. To the naked eye he was a shallow, womanizing, reckless man, but he was actually the opposite! I think I melted at the fact that he hadn’t even kissed anyone in the five and a half years that he’d been married to but separated from Celia…

  • A FANTASTIC STORY!

I want to start off by saying I loved this book! I loved how real the characters were. How real the surroundings and the atmosphere were. The book felt like how you lived and the people in the story were like that of who you interact with everyday, and I have to say when you have a story set partly in Texas, that is a good thing. There is no exaggeration of the Texas twang or culture. I could hug Becky for that! She captured the smothering heat of the summer perfectly, and I love the description she used, “Sunglasses not optional bright”. I could picture the little town of Holley without a problem.

  • I will admit that when I started reading, my initial thought was “Really? A gorgeous bull rider from Texas? In a romance novel? No way.” But…this book read as so much more REAL than a lot of other romance novels. It wasn’t a story where the 2 main characters found each other and were immediately amazing together. There was attraction… but there was also tension, and humor, and family, and trust. Oh… and by the end of the book I was totally ready to find another novel with a gorgeous bull rider from Texas.

Meant To Be Mine doesn’t begin like your typical romance…but contains everything that makes this genre hot!

I think Ty and Celia seemed more like normal, real characters than many I have encountered in romance novels before. They really are two characters trying to work on their relationship and figure out if their love can survive.

  • MEANT TO BE MINE BY BECKY WADE

The story that unfolds is heartwarming. Becky Wade does a great job of developing the characters and pulling you into their lives. The characters were so realistic. They were selfish and struggle to forgive. They run from God when they most need Him and only realize that He was there all along, once they finally return. I enjoyed that Celia is a strong, proud woman who wants the best for her daughter and does her best to protect herself and her daughter from Ty. I loved how Ty did his best to take care of his daughter, and her mother, not seeking anything in return and doing some of it without them knowing. I found myself rooting for them to really see what they have and to make it something more before it slips away.

  • LOVE THE ROMANTIC TENSION ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THIS ONE!!!

I can honestly say since my first novel from Becky Wade, she is one of my most coveted authors. She takes a romance lovers heart for a wild ride in each of her novels. You can’t help but want true love to be the end of her novels, but she gives you something much more than that. She provides a way for you to truly care about each of her characters so much, that you simply can’t lay your book down and attempt to finish anything else until you are done. Meant to Be Mine spoke to the cowboy lover in my own heart who captured mine almost 20 years ago and never let go. I liked this book and being able to read about another Porter brother’s story! I read Undeniably Yours a while back and was excited to read another of Becky’s books. This was an easy, fun read. I liked Ty and Celia together – the way they bantered, the nicknames and how he showed up every day at Cream or Sugar whether Celia wanted him to or not. It took them over five years to realize their love for each other and to be able to let go of all the hurts they’d been holding onto. And Addie was adorable! I loved the way she never wore anything but her cowboy boots! She had this knowing that her parents would be together – it just took them a while to listen. I’m hoping there will be another book so I can see what happens with Jake Porter :)

Meant to Be Mine explores the relationship between Celia and Ty, and Wade writes such an emotionally compelling story that I almost doubted the two would get together in the end. Wade has a gerat way of mizing emotional scenes with touches of humor. This came in the form of Uncle Danny, who provided lots of laughs during the emotionally tense moments. Wade does a great job of enabling the reader to become emotionally invested in the characters.

Meant to Be Mine is the most fun book I’ve read in a long time! It’s the perfect summer read. • A FUN READ

Meant to be Mine was a pleasant read with enjoyable characters (albeit ones who don’t make the best choices) and Wade’s lighthearted, easy style of writing.

  • MEANT TO BE MINE

I loved the main characters! Celia is witty and fun, while Ty won me over with his vulnerability. Perfect for summer reading!

  • MEANT TO BE MINE BY BECKY WADE [REVIEW]

This book is such an easy read! I love not having to “work through” a book. Every character is extremely realistic and Wade endears us to care for each one. One of my favorite things about Meant to Be Mine is that it’s set in my great state of Texas! The spiritual aspect of the book is extremely well written. If you like the way Karen Kingsbury approaches religion in her books, I think you’ll like Wade’s work as well. She doesn’t force the story. A lot of Christian Fiction tends to sugarcoat life and have everything turn out perfectly all the time, but that’s not at all realistic. Wade did a great job of keeping things balanced.

  • YUMMY CHRISTIAN ROMANCE! MEANT TO BE MINE BY BECKY WADE (BOOK REVIEW)

Meant to Be Mine offers fantastic romance with all the gut twisting sexual tension of a trashy paper back with none of the smut or crude morals. This novel is a fabulous read for those that enjoy a clean read, but traditionally find Christian romance lacking in the desire and attraction departments. Wade expertly weaves Christian values and messages into the prose without allowing the religious material to overwhelm the plot or become lecture like or preachy. Readers who enjoy this book are likely to be searching out her other novels (including me)!

  • “MEANT TO BE MINE” BY BECKY WADE

”Meant to Be Mine” reminded me of a bigger, thicker and more detailed Love Inspired Book—and it had a Texas-accented cowboy!

I liked the way Becky Wade’s story, Meant to Be Mine portrays the deep love of a father for his daughter. His willingness to sacrifice time and money not only for her needs, but to draw this child who hadn’t met him until age five into a loving father-daughter relationship warms the heart.

  • BOOK REVIEW: MEANT TO BE MINE BY BECKY WADE

    Oh. My. Goodness.

I loved and hated this book.

I hated it because I loved it so much I couldn’t put it down. I ended up spending practically my entire Memorial Day reading and finished it in one day. Never mind that I had a serious writing deadline looming in less than a week!

The story itself held my attention, but I absolutely loved the characters — from Celia and Ty to Uncle Danny and the owners of Cream or Sugar. I even liked Howard Sanders! :) The characters were both real and unique.

  • TY AND CELIA…

Becky Wade did a great job making me react to her character’s stories.
I haven’t read any other Becky Wade books, but I can say that this one is a strong story of transformation.

  • MEANT TO BE MINE BY BECKY WADE

What started out for Celia as a girl’s weekend in Las Vegas (during which they saw Ty bull riding) turned into a weekend that changed her life. Years later when he shows back up into her life she’s quick to guard her heart against that kind of pain. As they get to know each other all over again it’s amazing to see how both Ty and Celia have changed and continue to change as their lives take another twist.

Becky writes a great romance, however this is not just a great summer romance that will keep you up late into the night. It is a book about accepting and giving forgiveness, not only from each other, but from God. At one point in the book, I found myself beginning to pray for these characters, which caught me completely by surprise. This is a deliciously fun read that I highly recommend!

  • MEANT TO BE MINE

Meant To Be Mine would have been just another ‘secret baby’ plot, but for Becky Wade turning this into a rather moving story of ordinary people struggling with their dreams and hopes, and trying to work out a relationship with each other despite all the hurt of the past.

  • MEANT TO BE MINE #BOOKREVIEW

Love love love love loved this book! The little girl is so precious and I see a lot of my children in her. Oh and I could so see myself being the stubborn part of Celia too. I’m just a bit that way. This book is so fun! It’s funny and sweet and has the right hint of romance and even a little twist as well. I can definitely recommend this book but make sure you have time to read it cover to cover because you are not going to want to put it down! Oh and personally, I was rooting for Ty to get his head on straight all along. Meant to Be Mine will reel you in and keep you hanging.

I love what you said about your chair. I’m a big fan of The Andy Griffith Show and Barney sat in the sheriffs chair like yours, propped his feet on the desk and promptly fell backwards! It was so funny and as many times as I’ve watched it I still laugh!
