Sadie Wagner has always been devoted to her family. So when her stepfather is injured and can’t work, she decides to leave home and accept a position as a clerk at the mercantile in Goldtree, Kansas. Goldtree also offers the opportunity to use her God-given singing talent–though the promised opera house is far different from what she imagined. With her family needing every cent she can provide, Sadie will do anything to keep her job.

McKane comes to Goldtree at the request of the town council. The town has been plagued by bootlegging operations, and Thad believes he can find the culprit.

After he earns enough money doing sheriff work, he wants to use it to pay for his training to become a minister.

Thad is immediately attracted to the beautiful singer who performs in Asa Baxter’s unusual opera house, but when he hears her practicing bawdy tunes, he begins to wonder if she’s far less innocent than she seems. And when Sadie appears to be part of the very crimes he’s come to investigate, is there any hope the love blossoming between them will survive? Purchase a copy here.

Jolene at Reading, Writing, & Ruckus Song of My Heart by Kim Vogel Sawyer was an enjoyable read to me.

Sarah at Growing for Christ As I got to know Sadie Wagner and the townspeople of Goldtree, Kansas I felt that I could sense the fear that had come to settle upon Sadie – without giving the story away, you’ll be cheering for Sadie and even though she’s a fictional character maybe even saying a prayer for her or the one who is a real life Sadie to you.  What I liked was even though it’s a fictional book, it felt real, as in the fact that each of us knows someone (maybe it’s ourselves) who is struggling with how to deal with something in their life and it just may give you a way to get out or help someone, it’s truly inspirational.

Wendy at wall-to-wall books As usual Kim’s books have a natural flow to them. I was never bored with this story. It was fun, romantic, took lots of twists and turns and was the perfect little Historical romance!

Mary’s Cup of Tea You will enjoy their tale of mayhem and mischief along with the budding romance between Sadie & Thad!

Dana at Because I Said So This is a touching Christian romance with action and intrigue.

Patricia at It’s Time To Read Mamaw Another reviewer made a comment in one of her reviews that she wanted to scream at the characters in the book telling them what they should do.  Well this is how I felt in this book I wanted to scream at Sadie wanting to protect her from making the wrong choices she was faced with so far from home. I highly recommend this book.

Book Reviews By Jenny Romance, singing, crimes, mystery, this book has a bit of everything!

Amy at A Nest in the Rocks Kim Vogel Sawyer gives great attention to detail.  Not only does her writing flow and the characters welcome you into the story, but she adds quirks and tidbits that remind you of the story’s time period throughout.

Melissa at Word Heard Overall it was a good light read and I enjoyed it when I finished it.

Brenda at WV Stitcher I really enjoyed this quick read, and found myself laughing on more than a few occasions. A great historical fiction/romance that is well worth reading!

Lena’s at A Christian Writer’s World Author interview and book giveaway!

Alicia at Surrendering All Of Me This book was satisfying from the beginning to the very last page.

Karla at Ramblin’ Roads A sweet prairie romance set in a small town in Kansas.

Melanie at Christian Bookshelf Reviews I loved how grace and mercy was shown (and talked about) in Song of My Heart – that was one of my favorite things in the book.

April’s Lifestyle Show Sadie is another character that I am loving.

Theresa at Just One More Paragraph A wonderful book to escape into, Kim Vogel Sawyer creates some very realistic and lovable characters in “Song of My Heart”. This book will transport you back to an interesting town called Goldtree (named for the trees) in Kansas.

Christine The IE Mommy I could not put this book down. This story is filled with faith, love, hope, mystery and family!

Danielle at The Happy Wife I recommend this book to those who enjoy a good love story or stories about people learning to trust in God’s providence.

Vic’s Media Room Get ready for an exciting read that will keep you flipping pages.

Leticia at My Daily Trek A great read for those who love romance novels and that are set back in the days of horses and carriages.

The Knit Wit by Shair I could relate to what happens to Sadie in this story. I am the gullible, naive type of gal as well, so I tend to trust people. Then I don’t want to rock the boat, and end up getting myself into trouble. Next thing I know I have to trust God to get me out of the mess. I think we can learn something from the story. Plus it is a love story, which I love. I loved this book, and couldn’t put it down!  You won’t be sorry, if you grab this book!

Crystal at Created for Home I loved reading this book. It was as if I was there watching it unfold in front of me. I love authors who have the ability to draw you in and make you a part of the happenings.

Caroline at Happy Four Kim writes beautifully bringing to life the characters as you come to know them, love them, and relate to their inner struggles and dreams.

Gina at Gypsy Mama Logs I enjoyed some of the subplots of the book more than the central love story, though not because the love story was lacking, but because the rest of the story was just that well crafted!

Splashes Of Joy If you are in for a good interesting and fun read that will take you away for a while, pick up Song of My heart and see if you can help Thad chase down those bootleggers.

Alena at Little Bit Of Wonderful Kim Vogel Sawyer is a good storyteller, and I recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick and entertaining read.

Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer I enjoyed the book and I loved that it was set in Kansas, as I am from Missouri. Song of My Heart is one of Kim Vogel Sawyer’s best books.

Karla at quiet quilter Kim has again written a winning love story that truly speaks to your heart. Her ability to describe her characters so accurately and with such feeling , that you empathize , as well as rejoice in their trials, challenges and successes. They are very real people, much like you and I, and Kim shows us how God can make a difference in their lives, if only they will listen and heed His Word.

Carrie at Our Blessed Chaos Song of My Heart is a delightful and charming novel.

Ruth at My Devotional Thoughts The highlights of the book for me is Sadie.  I was able to relate to her easily because she is a singer.  I am a singer, too

Kaylea at My Scrappy Life Song of My Heart is a well written novel with several layers.

LaTawnia Kintz Reviews I couldn’t help but fall in love with Sawyer’s characters, including Mr. Asa Baxter. The innocence of Sadie, her misguided cousin, Sid, the twins, Miss Shelva and Melva and the sheriff, Thad McKane are all strong and colorful characters that make Song of My Heart a story well worth reading over and over again.

Whitney at Rambles of a SAHM I absolutely loved the Baxter sisters, Shelva and Melva. The identical twin spinsters that were also a bit loud and overbearing made for some humorous situations.

Cindy’s at Book Reviews Kim Vogel Sawyer’s writing really gives you a mental pictures of the people and scenes she describes.  Most definitely a book to share with friends.

Maopa at Luscious Deal I really enjoyed reading this book and was taken in by the story and the characters. I was so absorbed by Sadie Wagner and Thad that I had to read it until the very end. Great story! Another book added to a list of great reads.
