Seth Kincaid remembers almost everything… except getting married!

Seth Kincaid survived a fire in a cave, but he’s never been the same. He was always a reckless youth, but now he’s gone over the edge. He ran off to the Civil War and came back crazier than ever.

After the war, nearly dead from his injuries, it appears Seth got married. Oh, he’s got a lot of excuses, but his wife isn’t happy to find out Seth doesn’t remember her. Callie has searched, prayed, and worried. Now she’s come to the Kincaid family’s ranch in Colorado to find her lost husband.

Callie isn’t a long-suffering woman. Once she knows her husband is alive, she wants to kill him. She’s not even close to forgiving him for abandoning her.

Then more trouble shows up in the form of a secret Seth’s pa kept for years. The Kincaid brothers might lose their ranch if they can’t sort things out. It’s enough to drive a man insane–but somehow it’s all making Seth see things more clearly. And now that he knows what he wants, no one better stand in his way.

Already Over the Edge is receiving praise:

Romantic Times gives it 4 Stars: Book three of the Kincaid Brides is Seth’s story. With her trademark laugh-out-loud moments, Connealy breathes new life into an old storyline. The characters are fresh and innovating. There is romance, mystery, laughter and secrets for readers to discover.

Seth Kincaid has not been the same since the fire in the cave; it did not help when he ran off to fight in the Civil War and came back a bit touched in the head. He has learned he got married while he was away, but he does not remember his wife, Callie. She has searched for him — with the intention of killing him for leaving her. Seth knows, deep down inside, that she won’t kill him, and will in fact help him heal. When someone from their pa’s secret life comes to the ranch, all the brothers and their women form an unbreakable family unit to keep everything they have worked for in the family.

Jami’s Words Over the Edge was one of those books that I enjoy reading simply because there’s no nonsense–just pure, honest to goodness enjoyable reading. Edgy, climactic, entertaining and simply hilarious, this book is perfect for the die-hard historical romantic fiction readers like myself who like a little chuckle every now and then.

Cristi’s Reviews Over the Edge is full of drama, humor, romance and even a touch of suspense. There are some interesting surprises that pop up for all of the Kinkaid brothers and it was fun watching them unfold. I loved the perfect ending to what I felt was a very original story.

Kelli | The Zen of Motherhood I enjoyed Connealy’s writing style tremendously. The characters are hilarious and memorable, and the whole book has a zany feel that is really entertaining. If you’re looking for a “romantic comedy with cowboys,” Over the Edge is definitely worth a look . . . just read the other two books first!

Alena | Our Little Bit Of Wonderful This story combines comedy, romance, danger, and solid values in a fast paced tale that will make you smile, laugh, and shake your head. I finished this book in two days ~ I couldn’t put it down! Connealy does a fantastic job of showing how a severe trauma can handicap a person mentally and emotionally for decades until it is dealt with. Seth is one of the most convincing characters I have ever encountered on the written page.

Crystal | Created for Home Sometimes we all need a book to just escape for a bit. You know, one that takes place so far from our current reality to just entertain us and help us take a mini-brain vacation for a bit. Over the Edge by Mary Connealy does just that.

Kathleen | Reviews From The Heart I couldn’t wait to see where the money has been hidden or if there is a stash of money since it has been the conflict that runs through the other two novels in the series and keeps the family’s constantly looking over their shoulders for the next threat on their lives. I can easily rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and if you truly love a great Christian Western Romance with a touch of suspense added, then you will LOVE this series.

Patty | Broken Teepee It all ties up very nicely and it was a pleasant way to spend a few hours. The characters were simple, stayed in their defined roles and the story was enjoyable. A lovely, light read.

Kristie | Moments I have thoroughly enjoyed Mary Connealy’s triology of The Kincaid Brides and book 3 may be my favorite of the three books in this series! “Over The Edge” is filled with so much – great characters whom are full of life, love and people you would love to meet, drama, romance, and secrets.

Cindy’s Book Reviews A great story, with an underlying story of romance, and the redemption of a marriage started too early. I loved this story, a great story, with lots of action and adventure. Some hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud. A great book!!

Brenda | WV Stitcher Mary Connealy really knows how to write a story. As a fan of historical fiction, I really love being drawn back in time, and when there is romance, along with a good dose of humor well I am sold! I would say that “Over The Edge’ is the third book in the Kincaid Brides series, and while we do get a bit of background information it is best to read the entire series in order to fully understand the characters. Grantastic series, and I really hope the author continues with another book! Highly recommended.

Marissa | The Review Stew I love how strong of a woman Callie is and how she will stand up for herself and her son…even to her estranged husband who doesn’t remember her! I love that she can take care of herself by herself and she reminds me a lot of what I am like…Which is why I loved watching her love story unfold (again) with Seth no matter how much she wants to be mad at him!

Shondra | Give Me Today Over the Edge proved to be all I was hoping it would be! Callie is very “entertaining”, not afraid to get her feet wet (or dirty). I like to think that is how I would have been if I were alive during those times. Not a girly girl, she doesn’t sit around on ruffles and lace waiting for the men in her life to take care of her! If she wants it done, she’ll do it herself!

Billy | Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer I like the new character Callie. She is not your typical wife in the 1800s, as she is not afraid to pick up a gun and fire back if necessary.

Crystal | Cinnamon Hollow Mary Connealy does such a great job creating her characters. There are *three* parts to the Kincaid brothers family and we get to see a glimpse into all three without losing the focus of the story. Over the Edge is filled with romance, danger, mystery and secrets.

Heather | Servant Wife Mother Is it possible to sell one’s soul to the devil without remembering, or even being aware? Seth Kincaid believes so, and that’s probably why he’s forgotten that he was married to the beautiful Callie Kincaid. What’s their story and will his spit-fire wife ever be able to forgive him for abandoning her? You’d have to read the book to find out.

Betsy Ann Writer at Large Her final story in the Kindcaid Brides series is absolutely fabulous. Once again we’re plunged into the depths of caves, romance and mystery, all with a serious side of comedy! You’ll giggle, gasp, grin and swoon. I was so happy to see how Seth’s story finally played out. I love me some Kindcaid brothers 😉 And you will too! I highly recommend getting the entire series!!

Book Reviews By Jenny I had hoped that the cover was just the icing on the cake and that the story would match my deliciously romantic hopes for this novel and it did just that! This book is so very well written it captivates you from the first page and you don’t want to put it down for a second. I love this series and it just gets better with each book Mary writes!

Dianna | Savings in Seconds Callie is awesome as a main character—I want to be her when I grow up! I love her feisty personality and the way that she will do anything to take care of her little one. I haven’t read any of Mary Connealy’s other Kincaid Brides books, so I was a little lost on some of the history. Still, the book was able to stand alone and still be an enjoyable read.

Carrie | Our Blessed Chaos Not a typical historical romance! Instead, this is a book with a unique storyline, dynamic characters and intense relationships. I loved it from beginning to end and completely enjoyed the escape into a delightful, easy read with a main character that inspires me to brush up on my shooting skills.

Amber | Snidbits  I liked how different the brothers were but how they came together when Seth needed them. Connealy added some action to keep things interesting along with some romance; both blending quite nicely.

Linda’s Lunacy Over the Edge will keep you on the edge of your chair. Full of action and suspense, it also has some very heart warming moments.

Ruth | My Devotional Thoughts  In spite of everything, it’s a nice, light, clean read that is suitable for all ages. You will love Callie’s spunk, and your heart will break for Seth. I can mostly recommend this book to lovers of clean Western romances.

Alicia | Surrendering All of Me Over the Edge was a beautiful end to the series.

  • Becky says:

Over the Edge picks up a few months after the events in book two, In Too Deep. Right off the bat, readers are introduced to Seth’s wife Callie … and boy is she spunky! I liked her immediately and thought she made a good match for Seth. Over the Edge is a fitting conclusion to Connealy’s Kincaid Brides series.

  • Michelle says:

I have to admit the romantic elements and [Seth and Callie’s] inner dialog regarding each other was at times heart warming and intriguing. I liked how the author showed their attraction to each other.

  • Whitney says:

Mary Connealy can really bring a fictitious cowboy to life. With The Kincaid Brides series she has imagined not one but three over the top hunky men to entertain us. This was a delightful finish to a great series. When it comes to romance in the Wild West, Mary Connelly definitely does it best!

  • Mary Bearden says:

This book is a great feel good book and if you need your spirits lifted up, then this is the book for you to read about one woman’s determination that her son would meet and know his father. I also found out that I really kinda liked the western cowboy feel of the books. I used to think that being a cowboy back in those days would be so romantic and that being chilvarious to a woman was a lost art. But, after reading a few books on their lives, I decided I am living a pretty good life right here and now.

  • Babs says:

Callie and Seth do work out the demons together which makes the story nice to read.

  • Krystal says:

If readers are looking for a female character with spunk they need not look any further. Callie is one tough cookie.

  • Vic says:

It is filled with excitement and humor and Wild West action.

  • Lenore says:

So instead I tried to relax by finishing up Over The Edge by Mary Connealy. I was hoping that traveling to the ol west would take me away from here. But with a few times of the dogs howling (we had the separated for the night) brought me right back to the event.

  • Leila says:

The story was great and full of action, laughs and romance. Callie is a wonderful character, full of adventure and excitement. When you first meet Callie in the book, she is on a stagecoach with her son. They are being attacked and she is the strongest shooter and ends up being the only one able to shoot the attackers. Then Seth comes into the story. The relationship that Callie and Seth has makes this story worth reading.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic novels, especially those set in the past. Anyone who enjoys a strong female role would also enjoy this book and most likely the others in the series.

  • Mary says:

This book is a great feel good book and if you need your spirits lifted up, then this is the book for you to read about one woman’s determination that her son would meet and know his father.

  • Renae says:

…this was a pleasant read and if light-hearted cowboy romance is your thing, this might just fit the bill perfectly.

  • Lena says:

    Author interview

  • Tammy says:

Over the Edge is a fun, action packed Western story. If that sounds interesting to you, and it should, then definitely pick up a Mary Connealy book.

  • “Reading the back cover of Over the Edge I thought “a man who forgets his wife?” “how does that happen?” As I began to read to find out how, I was treated to a story that was packed full of adventure, romance and comedy.

  • Easy to read with tough and fun, rough and tumble Wild West flavor, I’d recommend this book if you love historical romance with a little twist.

  • I loved all the characters in Over The Edge but especially I enjoyed hearing Seth’s story. It was well written, flowed nicely and overall was the perfect way to wrap up the series.

  • I really liked this book and will be going back to read the others in this series. I found the characters engaging and I really liked being drawn into the story of what was happening to them in their lives.

  • Frugal Plus says:

The mysterious storyline which also includes the other Kincaid’s and their families baggage will keep you turning the pages. You will also learn that money isn’t everything.

  • This book was incredible and it left me hoping that Mary Connealy would keep this series going instead of ending it here. This book was filled with romance, the wild west, and some surprises as well.

  • This exciting, engaging and hysterical read is a wonderful way to pass a rainy day on the couch or a relaxing vacation on the beach or even a weekend. Loaded with incredible characters, godly contemplations and outrageous plotlines, Mary Connealy’s books always make me laugh and leave me wanting her next book right now.

  • I enjoyed reading this book, the adventure presented was very easy to imagine. I feel I know these characters. The author has a great way of presenting the characters, so that you know how and why they feel and act as they do. I appreciate the way she drew the story to a conclusion that shows God’s work in their lives.

  • Mary Connealy’s conclusion to the Kincaid Brides is a fantastic one! Once again, she brings her readers to the heart of the story instantly, hooking them and holding them until the very last page, where you definitely don’t want to be because it’s a bittersweet moment, knowing it’s the end of a wonderful trilogy! Her characters are, once again, brought to life for the reader, taking them on an adventure filled with laughs, twists, and romance.

  • I like Callie. She is a rough and tumble woman, able to hold off three would-be stagecoach robbers by herself while waiting for help to arrive. She was determined to keep her relationship with Seth platonic until he remembered the details of their marriage and showed that he would not up and leave again, like before. Seth is a great character too. Once Callie lays down the boundaries of their relationship, Seth does what he can to show her he is dependable, to overcome some of the demons he is fighting (due to the PTSS), and to remember the details about Callie and their marriage. Both of them have obstacles to overcome and they do it.
I would recommend this book but would suggest you read the others in the series too to have a better understanding of all the characters.

  • Faye Oygard says:

An explosive conclusion to a thrilling saga.

A fast-paced Western read with plenty of action and laughs. I loved how the plot was just chock full of twists to keep the pages turning at break-neck speed.

The characters were all so well built and I loved how the brothers from the first book, as well as their wives, were still a big part of the story.

  • The story of the Kincaid brothers continues in this, the third adventure in the series. Connealy does a wonderful job of weaving each brother’s story together, layering the depth, emotion, and sheer hilarity of a man who’s traumatized enough to forget his own wife.

  • Callie is my type of heroine, strong but ladylike.

  • Ladette Kerr says:

I really enjoyed meeting the Kincaid brothers, Rafe, Ethan and Seth and their wives in this book. There is plenty of humor, suspense and love to go around. Seth is the youngest of the three brothers and is mostly like to find trouble.

  • Snippet of full review: An explosive conclusion to a thrilling saga.

A fast-paced Western read with plenty of action and laughs. I loved how the plot was just chock full of twists to keep the pages turning at break-neck speed.

  • Oh~ my stars I have been waiting for this book to come out and let me tell you it was worth the wait. I so enjoyed this book. When you combine a little history with a good love story it is my favorite kind of read.

  • Although I have not read the first two books in the Kincaid Bride series I was instantly drawn to the characters in Mary Connealy’s third book in the series. Seth Kincaid, one of the stories main characters was quite interesting. This man had survived the Civil War and also survived a fire in a cave. Because he had witnessed many terrible things during the years he was away many of those things were blocked from his memory… one of them being his wife, Callie. Callie, is not your typical wife in the 1800. As the story begins she is in a stagecoach with a pastor and his wife firing at some men who are trying to overtake the coach. I loved these two characters. I now have to go back and read the other two books. Once I started this book i could not put it down. It was wonderful.

  • I enjoyed reading this cowboy adventure. Reading about

Callie and Seth’s marriage had me laughing, and admiring

Callie for being a strong woman and standing up for her

  • I think what I liked most about Over The Edge was how it not only wrapped up every detail the reader collected along the way and put it right in it’s spot at the end, but that Connealy was also able to wrap up the entire three book series in the same way.

  • I really enjoyed reading this book …

  • Sometimes I get bored following a series of books but that was not the case with the Kincaid Brides Book Series, I’ve enjoyed all 3 of them that I’ve read and I can’t wait to read the next one. I love a good romance and this has some mystery thrown into it for good measure so that’s a double thumbs up for me. From the start to the finish Over the Edge was a pleasure to read. I couldn’t decided whether to give this book 4 or 5 stars out of 5 stars so I’m giving it 4 and a half stars for the mystery, intrigue, terror and excitement that opens the the book up and grabs you right from the start.

  • Stacey Dale says:

First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Mary Connealy and her publisher for sending me a copy of “Over the Edge” to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.

Mary Connealy is one of the best Christian fiction writers of our generation. Her novels are packed with true grit, romance, suspense, history and humor. Her latest novel, “Over the Edge”, the third in the Kincaid Brides series, begins with an action-packed BANG! Literally. Callie Kincaid has been hunting down her low-down husband, Seth, for a year! Now that she’s found him – or has he found her? – she’s in no shape to kill him as she’d like to do. This exciting, engaging and hysterical read is a wonderful way to pass a rainy day on the couch or a relaxing vacation on the beach or even a weekend. Loaded with incredible characters, godly contemplations and outrageous plotlines, Mary Connealy’s books always make me laugh and leave me wanting her next book right now.

  • snidbits says:

Overall, this was a good read. This was the first book I’ve read by Mary Connealy and the third book in her “The Kincaid Brides” series. Even though I’ve not read the first two books, I didn’t feel like I was unable to enjoy the story. I liked how different the brothers were but how they came together when Seth needed them. Connealy added some action to keep things interesting along with some romance; both blending quite nicely.

  • Shari Goss says:

I have read many romantic novels over the years, and they generally fall into a pattern, so you tend to know what will come next even though there are differences here and there. However, this was a very unique romance, and had many twists and turns along the way. I got through this book really fast, and really enjoyed it.

I have put the rest of the series on my must read list, along with her other books! What a fun author.

  • Janet Ruth says:

In this series, Mary Connealy has introduced us to a host of interesting characters, handsome cowboys and their brides, and wrapped it up in a wholesome and humorous story. I highly recommend all three books, you won’t want to miss any part of the story.

  • Tammy says:

Despite delving into topics as solemn and serious as robbery, murder, nightmares, childhood trauma and war, Mary Connealy manages to make this a fun book to read!
