With God’s help even ordinary people can do extraordinary things

Rachel Hauck’s Princess Ever After shows how a willing heart can change a life

2/13/14 || Seattle: The best stories show ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and Rachel Hauck has captured that very essence in her new novel, Princess Ever After (Zondervan/February 4, 2013/ISBN 9780310315506/$14.99). The second book in the Royal Wedding series tells the story of an ordinary girl who finds out she’s a princess, a revelation that changes the life she’s created for herself.

Like many of us, Hauck is enamored with the idea of royalty, and while she hopes readers are entertained and drawn to the modern fairytale of Princess Ever After, she has a deeper desire for this book and the entire series. “I pray readers find hope and encouragement,” she says. “Most of us are not going to discover we are long-lost princes or princesses in this life, but we are most sincerely princes and princesses in His kingdom. Right now! Let’s live like it and love as our King loves.”

Readers of Hauck’s latest release are introduced to Regina Beswick, who has finally found happiness by leaving the corporate world and running a classic auto restoration shop in her small town.  Though she’s cozied up to the idea that her new life is nearly perfect, Regina is unaware a secret destiny awaits her.

Tanner Burkhardt, the stoic Minister of Culture for the Grand Duchy of Hessenberg, is tasked to retrieve the long-lost princess in order to secure his nation’s future — and his own. In the process, he must overcome his past mistakes as well as his fear of failure. Tanner’s insecurities are something Hauck can personally relate to. “I’ve dealt a lot with fear and anxiety,” the author says. “I overcame by believing what God said about me instead of believing my fears. I devoted my heart and mind to the Word and to prayer.”

Despite Regina’s first doubts about Tanner’s bombshell news — that she is, indeed, a princess — Regina realizes the hand-painted book of fairytales left for her by her grandmother isn’t just a book of imagination. It’s her grandmother’s childhood story, and Regina is a royal heiress.

This book of fairytales is a lovely heirloom for Regina, but Hauck explains it’s more than just a nice story. “It’s symbolic of the message God has given us through His written Word. Hebrews 4:12 tells us His Word is living and active. It speaks. Yesterday, today, tomorrow. . . .”

As the characters in Princess Ever After work to uncover God’s plans for their lives, a fierce opponent with plans to abolish the throne forever lurks in the political shadows.  Overwhelmed with opposition, Regina must decide if she’s destined to restore old cars or an ancient nation. Together — with a little divine intervention — Regina and Tanner discover the truth of her heritage and the healing power of true love.

Join Rachel Hauck for a live Facebook Party on March 6 at 8:00 PM EST where she will chat with readers about the Royal Wedding series and give away copies of Princess Ever After. Watch for more details on her Facebook Page.

Buzz

Injected with a beautifully sublime faith thread, Princess Ever After is just such a story, with a little something extra to offer by way of complex modern characters, a bit of political intrigue, a couple of sweet twists on the “stepsisters/stepmother” plot thread, and a tummy-tingling romance. Author Hauck allows Tanner and Regina equal point-of-view page time and gives a bit of cross-purposes-insight from the story’s antagonist here and there. The story never suffers a lack of pace or humor, and the emotions conveyed by the characters are true — even when tumultuous or self-condemning — and it all feels “real,” if vicariously so. Rachel Hauck’s inspiring Royal Wedding series is one for which you should reserve space on your keeper shelf! — USA Today

“The books in the Royal Wedding Series stand alone, but all contain a modern-day fairy tale. Hauck can be counted on for captivating, page-turning stories and sincere characters with heart. Princess Ever After brings a little girl’s dream of being a princess to sweet fruition.” – Romantic Times Book Club Review

“Writing an entire series framed by realism in which a sense of fantasy is coaxed to life has to be… tough. Rachel Hauck is just the author to pull this off – and she does it with grace and class. All of the relationships that blossom between characters, engaging the reader, are what put the genuine tug of love, joy, and friendship in this book. What Rachel does so splendidly with Princess Ever After is comingle realism with fairytale to exist in a space that never fully feels over-the-top unrealistic, nor too dramatic.” – Fiction Addict

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK

Rachel Hauck is one of my favorite contemporary authors. This series has been so much fun to read because it’s lighthearted and just plain fun.

To start with, I’m impressed with Hauck’s car knowledge as she opens up the book and introduces Regina. I am quite certain I would not have been able to make one intelligible sentence when it come to restoring cars.

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER: BOOK TWO OF ROYAL WEDDING SERIES WIN $200 “PRINCESS” GIVEAWAY AND FACEBOOK PARTY WITH @RACHELHAUCK!

Princess Ever After is a wonderful story. I am so glad I read Once Upon A Prince, because it definitely helped to understand the whole story. I could NOT put this book down, it grabbed me from the start and kept hold until the end. I love the story of a regular girl becoming the Princess she pretended to be many, many years ago as a child. Rachel Hauck writes with authority about royalty, monarchies, England, and car restoration. The characters in this book are great, I really enjoyed the new characters and of course getting to know about other characters from the first book. I loved the characters especially Regina.

  • SWEETEST ROMANCE OF THE SEASON

I read Rachel Hauck’s Once Upon a Prince last year, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but I have to say I liked Princess Ever After even better. I love how, even when unsure of herself, Reggie carries herself with dignity and grace throughout the entire novel. She doesn’t slink back and hide, but asks questions and eagerly seeks out what she can do to help. Reggie is a very likable, relatable character. She has wit and spunk, but also just enough vulnerability and humility to make her the perfect heroine—the perfect princess.

You’ll love how it’s like a fairy-tale yet there’s such a beautiful theme of faith and redemption throughout the whole book. God is a huge part of this book in a really beautiful way. • FUN FICTION: PRINCESS EVER AFTER

Aside from the captivating storytelling, I enjoyed this modern-day fairy tale because of its well-thought out plot (Ms. Hauck created quite a world in the politics of Hessenberg and its entail with Brighton), its deep character development, and of course, its moving romance.

I love romance novels that aren’t all about the romance, it’s there, glaringly there, but the characters have other struggles and plot twists to overcome, and parts of their character that need refining as well– that’s what gives them their depth.

  • If you haven’t read the first book in the series, Once Upon a Prince, don’t worry, as Princess Ever After is a standalone tale. To me, part of the plot is similar to Disney’s Princess Diaries, in which a girl finds out she has inherited an entire (fictional) country. Rachel Hauck is a great writer, so she was able to avoid the typical romance cliches. Overall, Princess Ever After may not be exactly original, but it is a cute harmless read.

  • I loved this book! What little girl doesn’t love the idea of being a long lost princess? The reality, of course, would be quite different than the fairy tale. It’s not so easy to give up life as you know it, including family and friends.

I love how Hauck makes the characters real – their flaws, weaknesses & strengths, personalities all ring true to life. I enjoyed watching the characters discover God’s purpose for their life, and coming to the realization that our best laid plans are not comparable to God’s plan for our lives. Taking that step of faith is hard, but so worth it.

Do I recommend Princess Ever After? Absolutely. I’ve yet to meet a Rachel Hauck novel I didn’t like. The plot is light, and allows us to drift away for a while in that princess happy ever after fantasy.

  • What would you do if you found out that who you thought you were wasn’t who you really were? That who you really were means giving up everything from your past? And that your choice affects and entire nation? Such is the premise of Rachel Hauck’s new book. The way she fleshes out the struggle to believe that faces Regina leaves you thinking about what you were chosen to do in this life.

Everyone loves a good princess story and this one reminds me more than a little of the Princess Diaries, but since the protagonist is a grown woman and not a teenager it’s perhaps a little more believable. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoy Hauck’s novels and look forward to more in the future.

  • BOOK REVIEW: PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK

Many girls dream of being a Princess, typically by first marrying a Prince. Some may dream that they are a Princess in their own right. However Regina Beswick is not one of those girls.

My favorite part of the book was the story of Regina’s great-grandmother Princess Alice shining a light and blending with Regina’s own life. Sometimes in novels a character from the past can detract from the present. That didn’t happen here. It was lovely to discover along with Regina the history of her family, and just how deep her roots ran.

What happens when someone is given the choice to give up all they’ve ever known to help people they’ve never met. To put a country you’ve never stepped into above the home you’ve never left. You should read The Princess Ever After to find out!

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER

At first glance, Princess Ever After is the classic tale of a commoner ascending the throne, à la The Princess Diaries or any number of animated Disney films, but it has a “real world” feel to it. I loved the princess, Reggie, for her spunk and her “realness.” I also liked Tanner, the man sent to reveal her destiny and escort her to Hessenberg. He was an enigma for the first half of the book, and I appreciated that Hauck let the reader in on his secret bit by bit, rather than explaining it all right away or holding onto it until the final pages. And the romance? Fantastic!

Princess Ever After is a perfect book for a rainy day. For a snowy day. For a beach day. Basically, for any day. It’s fun, romantic, and captivating, and I’m now eagerly anticipating the next installment in this series.

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK #BOOKREVIEW AND #GIVEAWAY

Interesting story about Regina and Tanner who each made major lifestyles changes only to find that those plans weren’t Gods’ plan for them to begin with. Once they stepped out of their comfort zone and let God show them the way then they could receive God’s best for them. This story was full of history about how one man’s failures affected a country and how a long lost princess came home to restore it. There is romance, forgiveness, and humor in this fun story.

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK

A modern day fairytale, a bit like The Princess Diaries movies from a few years ago, but a lot more grown up. The story is enjoyable, the characters on the whole are engaging and interesting but it all just seemed too unlikely for me.

  • A MODERN DAY FAIRY TALE!

What a delightful book!!! What girl doesn’t love Fairy Tales !!! What girl doesn’t wish to be a princess??? Rachel Hauck fulfilled both of these desires in her newest book of The Royal Wedding Series. Throw in royalty, a new country, a rags to riches story, and it equals a delightful read. I had read Book One in the Royal Series, “Once Upon a Prince” and loved the whole concept of a present day fairytale. I was intrigued with the development of the characters in this book. As I read, I was reminded of Cinderella, a favorite childhood tale. Regina, is a regular working girl, whose world is turned upside down, when she discovers that she the long lost princess of a distant country, Hassenberg. She is a realistic character that is so easily identified with, that you automatically share her challenges, decisions, and fears. You dream along with her, of what it COULD be like, and also, what it WILL be like to give up her regular job and home, both near and dear to her.

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER

The author wrote some very vivid descriptions of the country of Hessenberg. She places you there, even though you are just a reader. You can see and feel everything that is going on as if you are there. The author’s characters held on to their beliefs and loved God. I went along for the ride with all the twists and turns, a little lovin” (romance), the secrets, and Reggie’s changes in her life.

  • BLOG TOUR & REVIEW :: PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK

It is this journey that brings Reggie and Tanner together and THIS is what I love the most about Rachel’s writing. She writes stories about characters that feel so real to you… in their flaws, in their weaknesses, in their insecurities and in their extra “baggage.” You love them and root for them. Not only that, but it truly is refreshing to read a clean, light-hearted, romantic love story that is not all about lust and sex. And even though, almost every single one of us will ever marry a prince or be a long lost princess, we are princesses in God’s Kingdom! Plus, God’s plans are ALWAYS better than our own. It’s refreshing also to see real characters struggle with following their own plans (which we always think is better) or obeying God by following His.

  • WONDERFUL ADDITION TO THE SERIES–CAN’T WAIT FOR THE THIRD!

As interesting as Regina is, Tanner stole my heart halfway through when a secret from his past comes to light. And the way he wrestled against God for the longest time kept me reading, too. Without giving away too much, I will say that Regina and Tanner allowing their relationship to spark while Regina knew Tanner’s faith was tenuous gave me pause. But the author handles it well. *zips lips*

This book had moments I was not a fan of – Reggie was a little annoying, to be honest. I really enjoyed Tanner’s story, though, and where it ultimately led. • A LOVELY, WONDERFUL NEW RELEASE FROM HAUCK!

A lovely, wonderful story from Hauck!! It should go without saying that I LOVED Once Upon a Prince. I have had to endure staring at Princess Ever After on my review stack for some time now, and I was so glad to slip into its pages. Once again I was completely wowed by Hauck on all the minor details used to make up the bigger picture. I can’t imagine all the research she did on royals and such, but it made everything almost tangible. Oh, Reggie is an amazing lead. She’s down-to-earth, funny, and incredibly relatable. More than once I giggled and snorted at her remarks or inner thoughts. That being said, I wish the story was longer! I loved her faith, albeit shaky at times, and watching her find her place in the world was such a delight.

  • FAIRY TALES REALLY DO COME TRUE IN THIS NOVEL!!!

This is the second novel in the Royal Wedding Series and I loved it just as much as I did the first one. I think every little girl grows up with the fantasy of being a princess some day and that is why I believe this novel really appeals to women. It creates the possibility that fairy tales can come true and perhaps there is a handsome prince just waiting out there for the right girl to come along and save the day being just the person she is without having to change. I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars. There is also a reading group guide at the end that is perfect for book clubs! I can’t wait for A March Bride coming soon!

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK

After adoring Once Upon a Prince last year, I was extremely excited to read this sequel, and to my great delight it did not disappoint and I loved this one too!
I loved Regina and how down to earth she was! It was so cool how she didn’t let discovering she was a princess change who she was and instead did everything she could to stay as normal as possible! I also loved how gracious she was and how she handled the different situations that came her way.
Tanner was also great and I definitely identified with his fear of failure. I loved watching him grow through the course of this book.

  • Regina is not princess material, and that makes her such a wonderful character. She has just had her first success restoring a car and her business is taking off. Tanner’s news throws a wrench into her continued plans. He has committed to helping her fulfill her grandmother’s legacy, while struggling with regrets from his past. Both characters are easy to relate to and it was not hard to love them both. Of course, since this is a fairy tale, things do work out in the end, but it was a bumpy, emotional and enjoyable ride.

  • FOR THE PRINCESS IN ALL OF US

Who doesn’t want to be a princess or believe it could happen? Rachel Hauck’s latest novel a Princess Ever After explores that idea. Regina Beswick doesn’t understand who she really is…and that truth will transform her life. In the process she has to choose whether or not she’s willing to accept who she truly is. I loved the story, the characters, the fun foray into what it would be like to be royal. The part of the story that will stay with me is the exploration of the challenges that confront our efforts to step into our true destinies — the ones that God has for us. It’s easy to stay where we are, but when we’re willing to step out, God will meet us. And the result is exciting. This book is landing on my keeper shelf.

  • BOOK REVIEW: PRINCESS EVER AFTER

Rachel Hauck has once again brought a sweet, charming story to her readers. Those who enjoyed her “Once Upon a Prince” would enjoy this one as well. While it’s the second book in the Royal Wedding series, this is not a sequel. Initiates to this series can enjoy this as a standalone novel as well. Hauck’s characters are realistic, yet dealing with issues that many of us face every day. This is certainly a novel from a Christian perspective, but the spiritual nature of it isn’t heavy handed. It’s simply a charming story, one that any lover of light romantic tales involving royalty would savor. I’m pleased to say that Princess Ever After is a delightful edition to the Royal Wedding series, and I look forward to more regal tales from author Rachel Hauck.

If you want great romance, your go-to author should be Rachel Hauck. Princess Ever After, the second book in The Royal Wedding series, features a fairy tale princess, a wonderfully detailed and imagined kingdom, and a romance with definite sparks. But this is no fantasy. The novel, though set in the fictional Duchy of Hessenberg, presents real life problems and obstacles that can be overcome with God’s plans and purposes. Highly recommended for romance fans.

  • WE ALL DREAM OF BEING A PRINCESS EVER AFTER!

I don’t think there is a girl alive who didn’t at one point in her life dream of being a princess. It’s something we all do. The book Princess Ever After made me remember playing as a little girl with my cousins, those fairytale dreams. .

It is the second book in the Royal Wedding Series by Rachel Hauck. Even though this is the second book in the series, I believe it can stand very well on it’s own, which to me is a good indication of how good a series can be. It was hard to put the book down once I started reading it.

It was so neat to see how love and royalty were woven through the whole book, from earthly love and royalty to spiritual love and royalty given to us from our Heavenly Father. It’s good to be reminded we are daughters of a King!

And Tanner is a character I know you will just love! Something about his is so endearing! Regina is a strong and determined young woman who is completely taken aback by her long hidden family history. She grows by leaps and bounds throughout the story learning to trust God completely through all of it.

  • BOOK REVIEW | PRINCESS EVER AFTER

If Book One was a retelling of The Prince & Me, then Princess Ever After was a reincarnation of Princess Diaries (oh, how I love that movie!!), yet despite being an unofficial parallel, the storyline felt more tangible somehow (despite the probability of a southern American girl finding out she’s a princess is basically unheard of in the extreme) and there were some real down-to-earth factors of the main character’s personal character that made them seem so human somehow. They weren’t perfect and they were never painted as such, in fact, their flaws and past mistakes took a center-stage for some of the plot points. And as a closet classic car lover, I love how Regina was a restorer of those classic beauties! You go, girl.

I definitely loved this book (a lot) and can totally see myself re-reading it again in the future. Because who doesn’t like a good pauper to princess story anyway? ;)

    5 out of 5.

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER

I am thoroughly enjoying Rachel Hauck’s Royal Wedding series. One Upon a Prince was a delight and Princess Ever After is equally enchanting. Hauck steps outside the box in creating Regina Beswick as the ordinary-girl-becomes-princess, as Reggie’s knowledge and passion for car restoration seems to make her an unlikely candidate for one to restore a kingdom–or does it?. . . A charming and thoroughly satisfying romance, Princess Ever After will also inspire and encourage readers with its message of faith.

  • HOW TO BE A PRINCESS EVER AFTER

Once I opened Rachel Hauck’s Princess After Ever, I had to keep reading until I’d wrung the last drop of sweet, romantic, quirky goodness from the story.

I love the spiritual thread invoking the royal roots which belong to every daughter of the King–like when Reggie imagines her anointing or reminds herself, “Wasn’t that what Gram did? Live the life of a princess by her actions, not her title?” I also appreciate how Tanner is totally respectful and virtuous in how he treats Reggie.

Princess Ever After is big on charm. I can’t wait to share this story with my students. I know they’ll love it, too!

  • BOOK REVIEW: PRINCESS EVER AFTER

So, as the snow came falling down here, I had the perfect excuse to curl up in bed with what turned out to be an amazing book. Regina was an amazingly relatable character, even if her life does turn out to be something from a fairy tale. Reading about Tanner’s struggles made me sigh and want to give the poor man a hug. When I reached the end of the book, I wanted to keep reading, but there just weren’t anymore pages! I certainly hope that this isn’t the last time readers hear about Tanner and Regina, even if they come back as minor characters in a future book.

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK

Who doesn’t like a princess fairy tale, where a commoner finds out she is royalty? This is a delightful and fun to read tale. A mixture of romance, a Tennessee gal finding out she’s got royal blood in her veins, a kingdom waiting to be restored, the hand of God moving, and a little fairy tale magic – that makes for a wonderful novel. Read it and enjoy.

This book was a different read for me, which I enjoyed ! I felt like it was a love story told in a modern day world and I just loved it! I have never read one of Rachel’s books before, but would definitely read it again. This story reminded me of the Princess Diares in different ways. I truly enjoyed this book and will recommend it to others.

Rachel Hauck fills a need with Princess Ever After that I didn’t even realize I had. As I turned the pages and watched an average girl with overalls and a passion for cars learn she’s an heir to a kingdom, it hit me how even in my 40′s, I still swoon with a princess story.

This hands down has to be one of the best fiction novels I’ve read in a while. I loved it! The detail that went into creating the country and the situation. The characters and their distinct personalities. I fell in love with Reggie and enjoyed getting to know her and learning with her in her situation. And Tanner. . . well don’t get me started on him. He sounds dreamy with those eyes and hair, and then there are his deep dark secrets. I’m going to have to check out book one in this series and suggest you read them both!

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK: BOOK REVIEW $200 VISA CARD GIVEAWAY & FACEBOOK PARTY ON 3/6!

I love sweet fantasies like the one that Rachel Hauck has crafted with princesses and tiaras. It is a real Cinderella tale! I really enjoyed the main character Regina. She always stayed true to herself even when she was placed into these unbelievable situations that might have tested another kind of person. She maintained her confidence even when she found out her true heritage as a princess. The book delivers a strong religious theme where Regina leaves her trust in G-d which is a nice base. She learns from past mistakes and decisions and looks to G-d to make sure she is living her life in the right way even with the men that are a critical part of the storyline like Tanner. I enjoyed the way the whole story came together from her Gramma all the way to becoming the long lost princess of Hessenberg.

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER $200…..

I’m not usually a fan of contemporary fiction, but I’m a stickler for Royal romances. I thoroughly enjoyed Princess Ever After, possibly even more than Once Upon a Prince. I’d have to read them over, back-to-back to be sure. Princess Ever After reminded me a lot of the Disney movie versions of The Princess Diaries, by Meg Cabot. It was the perfect Royal fairy tale.

I like the way the author writes , this was the first book I have ever read of hers so maybe its just me. I like the part that God is woven into the story and Faith surely wins out and God and Love conquer all ! I also liked that it has a happy ending and shows that when a woman gives in and lets the Lord guide her life and her ” destiny” life goes totally right ! All in all its a great book and If your the cinderella story type girl , I highly recommend this one !

  • REVIEW: PRINCESS EVER AFTER (ROYAL WEDDING #2) BY RACHEL HAUCK

I love fairy tales…those stories that really let you “live the dream”. Princess Ever After definitely fits into this category. It is the second book in the Royal Wedding series, however, it really can be read as a stand along book if you have not read the first book, Once Upon a Prince.

The romance does not seem quite as deep as in the first book, Once Upon a Prince, but these are different characters in a different story. They have their own story to tell and their own way of reacting to relationships. If every story was the same, how boring that would be! There are some interesting twists and turns and flash backs to journal entries written by Reggie’s grandmother, when she was a young lady, throughout the book. All in all, a sweet and romantic fairy tale that left me happy at the end.

Well Author Hauck has done it again. This Royal Wedding series is fantastic.

The characters are fantastic and when you have read the very last page you are left wanting more.

I gave this book 5 stars. I can’t wait to see what Hauck has in store for us next.I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for my honest review.

I loved that most of the people in this story, lived their faith, and have a personal relationship with God. There is even a surprise, from the beginning of the book, that ends up at the end. Loved it!

  • BOOK REVIEW: “A PRINCESS EVER AFTER” BY RACHEL HAUCK

I loved this book! Being a fellow southern girl myself, I immediately liked Regina and her southern sass :)And then there’s the struggle she went through. Having to decide if she’d walk through this new door presented to her or cling to what she knew. Rachel did a great job of making Regina real. She was faced with a huge decision and she had doubts. What I like about Rachel’s books is that there’s at least one line that seems like it’s just for me. With this book, Regina is about to take the Oath of the Throne and is scared. Tanner tells her, “Yes, Regina, your whole world is changing. But isn’t that what courage to step into your calling is all about? Discovering the truth and doing everything in your power to obtain it? To live it?”

  • A SWEET STORY ABOUT A FAIRY TALE COME TRUE

I appreciated the little bits of tradition that Regina gradually remembered throughout the book. I, too, remember snippets of songs that my grandmother sang in my childhood days; Princess Ever After reminded me of those cherished times. There were several good one-liners that made me want to hang their vinyl quotes on my walls.

  • A GREAT BOOK

This book appealed to me because of the main character Regina. I liked that she worked in a classic auto restoration shop but it turns out that there was a “princess” in there after all. I guess I just really like her as a main character. Don’t get me wrong I thought all the characters in this book were well developed, but Regina was my favorite. It was fun to read how an everyday person is turned into a princess and finds her true love. Another thing I liked was how this was a classic fairy tale told in a modern way. I have not read the first book in this series but I would like to go back and do so now. If you want to read a book about how dreams do come true then this is for you.

  • NOT EVERY GIRL’S DREAM

Rachel Hauck’s second offering in her Royal Wedding series, Princess Ever After, is everything you want in a modern fairy-tale. There’s a spunky heroine, a handsome hero, and plenty of conflict. (Disclaimer: I received a free digital copy of the book from Litfuse Publicity Group in exchange for my review.)

This book has a bit of The Princess Diaries feel to it as Regina weighs her options as the newly found heir to the throne.

  • BOOK REVIEW: PRINCESS EVER AFTER

This book was really fun to read, it reminded me a lot of The Princess Diaries. There’s something magical in the story of a normal, everyday girl finding out she’s heir to throne and getting to live life as a princess. This book had some really funny parts, especially when Reggie and Tanner dressed up as Sonny and Cher in order to be able to stroll through town unnoticed. What I really loved about this story, however, was the theme of restoration that ran through it – restoration of cars, restoration of a nation, restoration of relationships and restoration of the heart. Reggie’s story was an awesome way to be reminded about God’s power of restoration while at the same time enjoying a story that was entertaining, even captivating.

  • PRINCESS EVER AFTER

An interesting way to continue a series by taking a different royal and put them at the center. I loved Regina’s real debate about whether she wants to move to another country and become a Queen or stay and pursue the new path that she had just started to pave. The love story in this book didn’t take center stage and I liked that. I liked the focus on Regina’s quest for personal happiness came first and then love kind of fell in her lap!

  • BOOK REVIEW: PRINCESS EVER AFTER BY RACHEL HAUCK

What a fun book! This is book two in The Royal Wedding Series, though it is completely capable of standing alone.

My immediate impression was that the characters were engaging and unique, and this opinion did not change as the story progressed. The main characters were vivid and well developed, and–a quality I’ve come to appreciate in good fiction–the secondary characters were, too. I loved that I could almost hear the interactions between Reggie and her friends Al and Mark and the others in their southern yard parties.

The idea behind the story was refreshingly original: Bygone days of kings and queens and royalty meet 21st-century America. The author did a great job of making the duchy of Hessenberg ring true. She has a gift for making characters and scenes come alive, and I loved “listening” to the way the people of Hessenberg spoke and interacted with their newfound princess.
