  • VICTORIA BYLIN: ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ AND A GIVEAWAY

    5 stars!

First off-that cover is completely swoon-worthy. It’s one of my favorites from this year! The colors, font, lanters-there isn’t a single component I don’t like! Well done!

The story has real value and it’s so easy to connect and invest in the characters. The romance isn’t cheesy and develops well.

If you’re wanting a book that’ll leave you better off than when you started-this is your pick!

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ BY VICTORIA BYLIN {A LITFUSE PUBLICITY BOOK BLOG TOUR & REVIEW}

Someone Like You is the perfect love story, only unlike so many movies and books today, it was believable! It’s about a sweet, second chance at love between two college sweethearts who find their paths crossing once again after several years of distance. Author Victoria Bylin has a way of painting the setting in your mind and drawing you into her characters quickly. Having grown up in California, I adored the idyllic setting of a California based resort. The book contains a good bit of wit and humor interspersed with intense romance and social challenges. This is one that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys reading romance fiction.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’

This book was an outstanding read! I am not usually into books along these lines, but this one was outstanding and it really drew me in. I loved the main characters who were flawed and yet very likable. Julia was a very new, struggling Christian and I really enjoyed watching her grow and develop throughout the book. I loved the character of Zeke as well, he was. I love this book about second love and love how she faced hard issues with grace and tact. I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ ~ REVIEW

Someone Like You is such a wonderful book! From the first pages to the last I was hooked! I love when people get a 2nd chance at love and Zeke and Julia do just that! But this book isn’t all about love, it takes on some serious issues that people deal with! I truly appreciated how the author didn’t shy away from those issues, but in those issues, she shared Gods love and the Hope we all have in HIM. I think so many people will relate with this book and because of that I would highly recommend it!!!

From the very beginning, I adored Victoria Bylin’s Someone Like You – Zeke Monroe and Julia Dare quickly and easily pulled me into their sweet second-chance-at-love story. Bylin makes their love story enjoyably realistic and surrounds Zeke and Julia with a charming cast of characters plus a troublesome goat. Someone Like You is an excellent contemporary romance and I highly recommend it to interested readers.

  • REVIEW + GIVEAWAY: ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’

With its engrossing storyline, picturesque setting, engaging characters who struggle with serious life issues, and relevant spiritual themes, Someone Like You is all that Christian fiction should be. “A compelling Christian romance that tackles tough topics head-on” … a description all too rare in Christian fiction. And that is exactly what Victoria does so beautifully by reflecting real life where Christians struggle, not just “comfortable” sins, but with serious ones. This story is a reminder that we serve a God of new beginnings, who can fix that which is broken, who makes all things new. Highly recommended.

This is such a sweet heartwarming story, one that I loved reading! Victoria Bylin created and developed characters that fit the story so well, characters that found a special place in my heart, and characters that I wasn’t so impressed with because of their personality. Overall, the story, characters, setting, was very well written. There is a lot going on in this one book, and Victoria does an amazing job of weaving it altogether to make this a wonderful read. The romances, the working environment, dealing with the ex, and the other issues that comes up in this book are so realistic, it is almost like watching this story play out in real life.

  • EXCELLENT CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE

It has been a long time since I’ve read a contemporary romance that I have enjoyed as thoroughly as I enjoyed reading Someone Like You. The cast of characters were all real with real-life problems and circumstances. One thing that made this book unique—at least in my recent reading—is the fact that this wasn’t just one couple’s love story. Plus through it all ran God’s overarching love for all of us. Kudos to Victoria Bylin for an excellent and thoroughly entertaining read.

  • STELLAR WRITING

Readers who like contemporary Christian romances will really enjoy Bylin’s cast of characters in Someone Like You. This is not your typical Christian romance. Bylin does an excellent job of giving readers characters whose lives aren’t all neat and tidy but showcases the transformation that God’s grace brings about in a life. I liked hearing from the different points of view as well. In this story, there is tension, romance and even a bit of suspense in wondering how everything will work out. I appreciated that Bylin didn’t “spill all the beans” too early. Above all, the thread of faith is strong and the gospel message is clear.

  • THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

Someone Like You has the romantic feel of a Nicholas Sparks novel. Flashbacks of old times, coupled with should’ves and could’ves, created drama amidst a beautiful setting. There were repeated mentions of premarital encounters; these served as evidence that sex outside of marriage can really create heavy baggage. How does faith enter into the mix? Do Zeke and Julia have a second chance? Read Someone Like You to find out!

  • FICTION BOOK REVIEW: ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ BY VICTORIA BYLIN

Someone Like You isn’t just another romance. Victoria Bylin creates realistic characters, warts and all. This may sound strange, but I am pleased to read a novel with a single mom who has to deal with her ex-husband. More often than not that’s the reality. Many women have to figure out how to “live” with an ex-husband in their child’s life. I enjoyed watching Julia grow in confidence and faith throughout the story.

Just as an unopened quartz hides its greatest beauty deep within, so it is with us. In our brokenness, Jesus reveals our true beauty and strength. • A LOVE THAT NEVER ENDS IS FOUND ONCE AGAIN AND IN THE UNLIKELIEST OF PLACES!

I really loved the premise behind this novel. Old college sweethearts who find themselves working to pull off the wedding of a century with only 30 days to make it happen. You know things are going to get interesting when you add in a college rival bad boy and of course Julia’s precocious son Max. There are bound to be sparks flying in all kinds of directions and the best part of all is love is the reward in the end, but it might just surprise you with whom! I’d rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars because to sit down and inhale it all in one sitting is a sign of a great novel in my opinion.

  • REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ BY VICTORIA BYLIN

I have mixed feelings about this one. The characters are well-developed and the setting well-described, but there was an intense feeling of anxiety that I felt as I read about Julia’s conflicts with her ex, Zeke’s struggles with his faith, and the precarious state of the resort. The highlights for me were the rekindling romance between Julia and Zeke as well as some humorous moments involving Ladybug, the resident goat with attitude problems. There is a strong theme of God’s love getting us through hard times, but I was disappointed that with Zeke’s issues of the shame of falling short of perfection, the healing power of repentance and forgiveness through Christ’s atonement wasn’t brought into the narrative.

  • REVIEW PLUS 5 BOOK GIVEAWAY – ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ BY VICTORIA BYLIN

I found that when I started Someone Like You, I had a hard time setting it down! The author did such a good job of writing a story containing main characters who felt so very real.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’

I enjoyed a previous book by this author and this is a pleasant read as well. Bylin creates compelling characters who tug at the emotions. In the case of Julia and Zeke, that is a good thing. I particularly liked her portrayal of Julia has she endeavors to be consistent in her new faith and make better choices for herself and Max. Zeke is a worthy hero, determined to preserve the resort and the jobs it provides.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ BY VICTORIA BYLIN

Someone Like You has an infectious joy I didn’t expect as I read this novel. As I began reading, it became clear that there were going to be tearful moments full of emotionally charged spiritual issues facing these characters. Add in a troublesome ex on the verge of being emotionally abusive and a young boy in need of a strong male figure, and this novel was certainly in for its share of “tough” subjects.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ REVIEW PART 1!!!!!!!

…This is the first book I’ve read from Victoria and I’ve grown to love the humor she weaves into the turmoil! ;)….I also LOVE how much prayer Victoria writes into her book! Sometimes I wish there were more prayer in the books I read and these additions in Someone Like You are refreshing! :)…..

  • AN AMAZING READ!

Bylin writes in such a way that I felt Zeke’s frustration right away. As she pens the internal monologue for her characters, there is a beautifully flowing logic that engages me mind, too. I haven’t read a book that didn’t talk at me in quite a while. And there are beautiful poetic phrases that make me sigh inside (“…she couldn’t bear to taste the memories.”). Wow!

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ REVIEW

I loved this book. While I cringed at the treatment that both Julia and her son Max received from the dad, Hunter, it was unfortunately pretty realistic of how manipulative abusers can be. I loved the side story of Julia’s mom finding love again after losing her husband. And I enjoyed the journey that Zeke was on to rekindle his faith. This book had a subtle push toward faith but nothing cheesy or overly dramatic. I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more by Bylin in the future.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’

What would the chances be that you meet up years later with the man you loved but ran away from? Even more so that you came out to do business with him! Pretty slim right? But this is what happens in this novel. And what does this create: a fantastic novel about faith, forgiveness and hope, you will love every moment of this novel!

  • SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE

I enjoyed the book and I thought that it was entertaining with great characters but there was something about the writing that didn’t always ring true to me. I thought that there was a heavy reference to God when it was unnecessary which was pushing the point instead of showing how characters were become better Christian through their behavior.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’

This was such a sweet story. The characters really stood out for me. While there was some plot involved with the potential closing of the resort and the various people, it felt mainly character driven. The author did a great job of making them fun, lovable, or narcissistic as needed. The added element of a certain animal (I won’t spoil the fun) was hilarious. The subject of faith was very prominent, but was incredibly tasteful and fit perfectly with the plot. The romance was sweet, but not syrupy. It had realistic elements that made it authentic.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ BY VICTORIA BYLIN

This is the first novel I’ve read by Victoria Bylin, although she has written I think 17 previously, and I am hooked! In some ways this was not just a fluff read, the characters were so real and facing demons from their past, some that would continue to be part of their lives. I appreciated the real struggles they went through in their relationship with each other and with God.

  • GOD’S ENDURING, UNENDING, AND EVERLASTING LOVE

On the surface Someone Like You is a charming story but dig deeper and you will find the tale of God’s enduring, everlasting and unending love.

A wonderful novel about second chances, love and loss, forgiveness and grace.

Heart warming and totally delightful. Give yourself a treat and read it today.

  • SECOND CHANCES

This is a book that reminded me that our past can be revisited. Even though we have not always followed God, he was always with us. This is also a story about second chances at love and forgiveness. I really liked that the author tackled the issue of faith in such a down to earth way. These characters were facing present day issues. I liked the characters and liked that since they last met, their outlook on God has flip-flopped. I am giving this book a 4/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.

Overall, a wonderful read, engaging, and fast paced, I loved all the many characters, and how it not only explores Zeke and Julia, but George and Ellen as well. I admired Julia for her strength, wisdom and determination. Highly recommend this utterly enjoyable story.

  • SWEET STORY

Someone Like You by Victoria Bylin was a fantastic book. I was able to figure out what was going to happen through most of the book, but that is pretty usual for me when it comes to romance novels. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I am so glad to have found another author to read.

  • AN ALL-AROUND ENJOYABLE BOOK

I thought this was a cute romance story. It is nice to see couples getting a second chance at love. The characters in this story were very believable and this could have easily been about someone you know. Another thing I liked about this book was how Zeke was trying to keep Caliente Springs alive as well as how him and Julia were trying to pull off the big wedding. I felt as if I was a part of the planning and celebration thanks to the detailed writing of the author. Her writing style was very easy to read. Just an enjoyable book all the way around.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ REVIEW

Ms. Bylin’s writing style is very good, her imagery made me want to visit Caliente Springs resort. I was very intrigued by what seemed to be a role reversal in the story. (not saying any more, you will figure it out if you read the book) Favorite character is a tie between George and Chet. Least favorite character, Hunter. Very dislikable, the power of the writer to create characters like Hunter is a gift for Ms. Bylin.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ BY VICTORIA BYLIN

This is the first time I’ve read this author, and in order to be honest I have to tell you that I was not impressed with her writing style. I will say that this book was not as predictable as I thought it would be. It managed to surprise me a few times. I also liked how Zeke’s love for geodes turned out to be a metaphor for his spiritual life. That was probably my favorite aspect of the story.

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’ BY VICTORIA BYLIN WITH #REVIEW

Victoria Bylin has been a favorite author of mine ever since reading her first LI book, The Bounty Hunter’s Bride. And yes, I have read them all. The first ones though were shorter novels and I enjoyed how she fleshed out the characters in the small amount of time she had. Needless to say, she does an amazing job with her full length stories!

  • ‘SOMEONE LIKE YOU’

Someone Like You is a very heart warming story. The story moves along pretty good, I never found myself wanting a chapter to end so I could move on with the story. Bylin created a very diverse range of Christian characters with different levels of faith. As you read each character’s struggles they come to life on the pages. However, my favorite character is a goat named Ladybug. Ladybug will make you laugh out loud, it was a wonderful addition. Someone Like You is a good romance for everyone.
