Discovering God’s ‘Intentional, Unconditional, Without-Limits Love’

Debora M. Coty shows women how to open their hearts to the absolute, infinite love of God

Seattle—In a world where a woman’s acceptance so often seems contingent on her looks, behavior or talents, does anyone love her simply for who she is? Debora M. Coty answers that question with a resounding “yes” in her new book, Too Loved to Be Lost: Discovering God’s Intentional, Unconditional, Without-Limits Love (Barbour Books/October 1, 2014/ISBN: 978-1628369694 /$9.99).

“I believe that women today spend a lot of time feeling taken advantage of, judged unfairly and accepted only within certain boundaries,” Coty says. “We need to know — really KNOW —there is One who doesn’t condemn or critique us, but instead loves, forgives and accepts us — quirks, meltdowns, zits and all.”

Coty says as women fear loss of acceptance and try to outperform one another, they can begin to view God as a ruthless, judgmental, stern entity just waiting for us to crash and burn.Sure, our heavenly Father is holy and just. He’s righteous and wants us to be too. But that doesn’t make Him a mean ole hulking principal stalking the halls with a big paddle. That is so not our loving Papa God.” Filled with Coty’s trademark quirky humor, Too Loved to Be Lost offers women simple, practical steps for finding healing, refreshment and revitalization of spirit, body and faith.

Coty chose to use a travel theme for her book to illustrate life’s journey. A self-professed, “directionally challenged” traveler, Coty believes most women will experience the hopeless feeling of being truly lost at some point in their lives. She knows because she’s been there herself, struggling with depression for two years following six heart-wrenching miscarriages. “My wounds were so painful and raw that I distanced myself from the Lord,” Coty admits. “At my lowest point, He reached down to me with His tender mercies and gently began chipping away at the rock that was my heart.”

Coty tells readers that God allows detours to happen in their lives to show them deeper and higher facets of his limitless love. Whether they’re struggling with issues related to trust, depression, patience, relationships, hurts or hopes, Too Loved to be Lost will bring readers back to a secure love that no one can take away.

Too Loved to Be Lost is the fourth installment in Coty’s “Take on Life” series. Much like her earlier releases in the series, Faith, Fear, and a Fistful of Chocolate, Too Blessed to be Stressed and More Beauty, Less Beast, this latest volume is filled with humor and will deliver a much-needed smile while equipping readers with simple-to-implement tips for attaining the kind of guidance and belonging they crave — the kind only found in the unconditional love of Papa God.

This book was a great little read. The devotions are short, so the reader can read one if in a hurry, or several if she has a while to sit down and read. The stories in the devotions are funny, emotional, and interesting.

  • TOO LOVED TO BE LOST IS A MUST-READ

I appreciate an author who can bring a sense of humor to their books and can use it in an effective way to help make a point. Debora Coty does just that in her book Too Loved to be Lost.

She deals with some very serious things that most women face in their lives at one point or another, and how to get through and beyond those things realizing who you are in God and because of God. I love how she keeps emphasizing just how much each and every one of us is loved so much by God, something we as humans tend to forget.

The chapters are short so you can focus on one thing at a time or you can delve into more without it being too much at once. I love the very thought provoking questions she has at the end of each chapter called “Following My Personal GPS (God-Powered Satellite). They really help you to personalize what you just read in the chapter.

This is a book that I can highly recommend to you!

  • MY THOUGHTS AND VIEWS OF THIS BOOK

Debora does a wonderful job of telling stories mixed with nuggets of truth and even easy to learn monthly scripture memorization called “Lifesavers”. This is not a self-help book, but to me it is a self-reflection book. It emphasizes the fact that I am loved by God even when I don’t feel loved or lovable. God loves me unconditionally and just as I am no strings attached. This has been so much needed for me in the time that I needed it most.

  • A BLOG TOUR AND REVIEW

This little nugget of a book is so BIG in encouragement.

They say good things come in small packages and this is so very true for the book, Too Loved to be Lost by author, Debora M. Coty. The book is very quick to read, and can be used perfectly as a devotional, with 24 chapters in it. I read it in only a couple days for review purposes but I will definitely be going back and slowly readying through it to really embrace all that the author has to say. It is the perfect read for any one who feels like they need a little “cheer up” read. All who read this book will be so encouraged after reading it. It is full of wit and funny moments, and honestly it was the cover that first attracted me to the book, as well as the topic. The cover is so cheerful with the bright colors and flower on the front. The message of God’s Grace flows through each word of this book and I absolutely loved that!

This would be a perfect little pick-me-up gift for anyone in your life and a great gift idea for the upcoming Christmas season.

The worst feeling ever is feeling that you are alone, especially when we are going through something that are are sure that no one else can/will understand how we feel. In Debora Coty’s new book “Too Loved To Be Lost” we can see that even when we feel so broken, that all is not lost.

I read this book as a nightly devotional/quiet time read. I really love that there are scriptures as well as personal experiences that Debora has dealt with to show us that “life” can happen to everyone, whether it’s dealing with stress, or depression. We are reminded that we ALL have value, we just need to believe it

I wasn’t quite sure what I would think of this book, since it didn’t look like one that I would be able to relate to. Boy, was I wrong! I think there is something in this book for everyone (though, it is mostly geared towards woman;)). Debora Coty does a fabulous job of weaving stories, Scripture verses, and humor together into one seamless read that is most enjoyable! I appreciated her honesty and humor.

  • A MOST UNIQUE SELF HELP BOOK!!!

Debora gives us easy, practical things to do in our daily lives to improve and enhance our lives. I love the simple follow up to each chapter. After giving us much food for thought , as well as realistic situations, along with a few giggles, we come to the section entitled, “Following My Personal GPS (God Powered Satellite)”. Here, we are given questions regarding our own lives to think about, as well as references to Debora’s personal experiences, and how we can use the contents of the chapter to improve our self worth, thereby making us happier and more content.. I particularly loved the section of Chapter 4, “Topping Off My Tank”, in which we are given a list of Life Savers, easy but meaningful scriptures to memorize, one per month to help you gain power to replace your “old wimpy self”!!

  • JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED

What a wonderful book of encouragement. Just what the doctor ordered! As I was just released from the hospital after surgery I was blessed with this sweet little book. Debra Coty has a special way of using her humor to encourage women in all walks and stages of life to crawl up in Papa God’s lap and be loved unconditionally. The book reads like a devotional/ Bible study but broken down in chapters and bite size pieces/topics.

As women we have some tough roads to walk through and at times we can feel so alone and unloved. Yet~ our Papa God does not ever want us to feel unworthy, unloved or defeated. This book offers great big advice to women. Debra explains how God sees us through eyes of affection and not criticism. The God who is not fixed on a list of do’s and don’ts but rather the condition of our heart longs to walk with us. Papa God’s love is never too lost or never too late. He is always right on time.

I so enjoyed reading this book.
